Chapter 237: You know me?

"Can we go around it?" Ethan thought for a moment, then asked.

"We could... but doing that would almost definitely catch the attention of the Storm Kingdom and Gemspire Kingdom’s border legions!" Corvan said, his face twisted in misery. If he got spotted, he was screwed—no two ways about it!

"Border legions, huh..." Ethan’s eyes narrowed thoughtfully at that.

The so-called border legions were the military forces stationed along the borders of the Storm Kingdom and Gemspire Kingdom.

And generally speaking, the strength of a kingdom’s border legions wasn’t anything to scoff at. In fact, they were often seriously powerful—packed with Legendary Units, maybe even Mythic Units, and orange-tier Legendary Heroes.

Sure, even if they did run into them, Ethan wasn’t exactly scared. But it would definitely be a hassle—and it could throw a wrench into his plans.

Thinking it over, Ethan turned to Kyros and Auremax and asked, "Kyros, Auremax, can we just punch straight through this place?"

"Shouldn’t be a problem," Auremax said calmly, giving the raging, dangerous patch of magic mist ahead a quick glance. His face was completely unbothered.

This place might be a deathtrap for others, but for a Mythic Ace Unit like him? It was nothing.

"Don’t worry, Master! The sea’s my turf! This little patch of mist can’t stop me!" Kyros chimed in, flashing a bright, confident grin.

And he wasn’t wrong—the ocean was his domain.

A small magic mist zone like this? It wasn’t some forbidden zone or the deep-sea death traps that could wipe out entire fleets. For Kyros, this was basically a walk in the park. No challenge at all.

"So confident, huh? Alright then, let’s go for it!" Ethan laughed, feeling completely reassured.

When it came to Kyros and Auremax, he trusted them without question.

If they said it was fine, then it was fine. End of story.

"Holy crap... You’re seriously gonna just charge through that nightmare?" Corvan blurted out, his face draining of color.

He was shaking all over, looking like he’d just seen a ghost.

His eyes were wide with disbelief, and pure terror was written all over his face.

Charge through?

Were they insane?!

That was basically suicide!

But Ethan, Auremax, and Kyros didn’t even spare him a glance. The dark-gold Tier 2 warship rumbled to life and sailed straight toward the mist without hesitation.

Watching this unfold, Corvan could only let out a bitter laugh, roll his eyes, and mutter under his breath, "We’re so screwed..."

He’d been dragged here by Ethan, hoping to avoid dying and losing levels and experience. But in the end, it looked like he wasn’t going to escape his fate after all. Charging into the Arcane Mistsea like this? It was practically signing your own death warrant!

BOOM!

Meanwhile, the dark-gold Tier 2 warship was already plowing full speed into the stormy, wave-tossed, lightning-wrapped, monster-infested, magic-mist-choked waters.

THUD!

A massive wave slammed toward the ship’s hull—but just as it was about to crash down, it suddenly froze in midair, locked in place by some mysterious, invisible force.

Corvan stared, completely dumbfounded. "W-what the hell...?!"

ROAR! ROAR! ROAR...

From the depths of the sea, massive sea monsters began to surface, swarming toward them in droves.

But before they could get close, Auremax let out a thunderous dragon roar, his wings snapping open as he shot into the sky. His jaws opened wide—and a terrifying beam of pure magical energy, a Dragon’s Breath, blasted down into the ocean below!

BOOM!

A deafening explosion ripped through the air. Towering waves shot sky-high, nearly ten thousand feet into the clouds, and at the center of it all, a massive vacuum opened up, stretching thousands of feet across.

Everything caught in that blast—everything—was obliterated. Gone without a trace.

Even the terrifying sea monsters that had been charging at them, the ones Corvan had thought were unstoppable, were completely wiped out. Not even ashes remained.

"Holy shit..."

Corvan stared up at Auremax, who was still hovering in the sky, and sucked in a sharp breath. His voice trembled with awe as he muttered, "That... that’s no ordinary Mythic Unit. That power’s insane!"

And just then, Kyros made his move too. He unleashed the power of his Sacred Realm.

In an instant, the raging, storm-tossed sea calmed. The waves flattened out, the winds died down—it was like the ocean had been tamed by a god.

"This... this... is this the legendary Sacred Realm?!"

Corvan’s face twisted in shock. He whipped his head around to stare at Kyros, his voice cracking. "You—you—you’re a Crimson Ultimate Hero?!"

It finally clicked for him.

Kyros wasn’t just some powerful unit—he was a Crimson Ultimate Hero.

No wonder they weren’t even fazed by a place as deadly as the Arcane Mistsea...

Wait—!

A sudden thought struck Corvan like lightning. He spun toward Ethan, his face pale, his voice shaking. "You... you guys... you’re from Emerald Castle, aren’t you?!"

Ethan raised an eyebrow, glancing at the panicked Corvan. His eyes gleamed as he asked calmly, "You know me?"

Corvan froze, his face stiffening. He quickly shook his head, trying to play it off. "N-no, I don’t know you..."

Before he could finish, Ethan cut him off coldly.

"You do realize the situation you’re in, right?" Ethan said, his voice low and even. "If you think you can just walk away—or that I can’t do anything to you—you’re dead wrong. I wouldn’t mind dragging you back and locking you up. Forever."

And he wasn’t bluffing. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

In the world of Glory Lords X, death wasn’t the worst thing that could happen. Sure, you’d lose some experience, maybe drop a level, but you could always grind it back.

But imprisonment?

Losing your freedom forever?

That was the real nightmare.

The thought of being trapped in endless darkness, never seeing the light again, was enough to make even the bravest souls break.

Corvan’s pupils shrank. He swallowed hard, then gave a bitter, defeated smile and nodded. "Alright, alright... I’ll talk."

He took a deep breath and said, "A few days ago, Sea King Maelthorak from the Tidesworn faction issued a secret order. He wants the lord of Emerald Castle captured—alive."

"Capture me?" Ethan’s eyes narrowed dangerously. "Why? And who the hell is Maelthorak?"

"You don’t know Sea King Maelthorak?" Corvan blinked, then quickly explained, "Lord Maelthorak is one of the top ten Sea Kings of the Tidesworn faction. His strength is on par with a Demon King from the Inferno faction—or a High Archangel from the Castle faction."

Ethan’s frown deepened. "Keep going. Why does he want me?"

Corvan hesitated, then lowered his voice, glancing nervously at Ethan. "It’s because... rumor has it that the lord of Emerald Castle has a Crimson Ultimate Hero-grade Kirin egg."

As he spoke, he couldn’t help but glance toward Kyros, who was still wreaking havoc across the sea, his power shaking the heavens.

The shock and awe in Corvan’s eyes were impossible to hide.

He couldn’t believe it.

It wasn’t just an egg anymore.

It had already hatched—and the creature was standing right there, tearing through everything like a force of nature.

"Sea King Maelthorak..." Ethan muttered the name under his breath, his expression darkening.
