Chapter 118: Angels

At that moment, everyone was frozen in shock—whether it was Nathaniel Grant standing in front of Ethan, the three middle-aged men behind him, the crowds outside in the bustling downtown district, or even Isabella herself.

Their eyes were wide, mouths slightly open, not a single person daring to speak.

From the moment the 9-Tier Inferno Pit Fiend had suddenly appeared to the instant Ethan casually flicked his fingers and incinerated it with a burst of white flame, mere seconds had passed. But in those few seconds, he had completely shattered everyone’s understanding of reality.

That was a 9-Tier Champion Unit!

In the real world, something of that caliber wasn’t just powerful—it was a walking catastrophe. Maybe not quite on the level of a nuclear bomb, but at the very least, it could take on ten, maybe even a hundred opponents single-handedly. And not just any opponents—Common-tier heroes!

And yet...

And yet, such an overwhelmingly powerful enemy had been obliterated in an instant, reduced to nothing by a mere flick of Ethan’s fingers and a single burst of white flame. No one knew exactly what that flame was, but that didn’t stop them from being utterly shaken by the sheer, godlike power they had just witnessed.

Was this even something a human could do?

What made it even more terrifying was how effortless Ethan had made it seem—like he was just swatting a mosquito.

Nathaniel Grant considered himself a man who had seen his fair share of the world. But now? Now, his jaw hung open, his face filled with disbelief.

As for the three middle-aged men behind him? They were even worse—pale, trembling, unable to utter a single word.

Isabella, on the other hand, was shaking all over, her hands covering her mouth as she stared at Ethan, her eyes flickering between joy, shock, and uncertainty.

After what felt like an eternity, she finally couldn’t hold back any longer.

"Honey... what was that white flame just now?"

"You mean this?"

Fwoosh!

Ethan flicked his fingers again, and at the tip of his index finger, a small, silent flame of pure white appeared.

The moment their eyes landed on it, everyone felt a chill run down their spines. Their scalps tingled, their bodies stiffened, and an overwhelming urge to kneel and worship surged through them.

"T-This... Could this be the Tier 3 Magic the Scarlet Queen spoke of?" Nathaniel Grant’s entire body trembled as he forced the words out, his eyes filled with awe.

Tier 3 Magic?!

Hiss...

The moment those words left his mouth, everyone’s expressions changed drastically. Gasps filled the air as they sucked in sharp breaths, their faces filled with sheer terror.

"Yes..." Ethan nodded, his expression calm as he spoke. "This is called Celestial Fire. It’s a Light-element Tier 3 Magic." He paused for a moment, then asked, "You’ve heard of Angels, haven’t you?"

"Angels?"

"You mean the Legendary Units of the Castle faction? The 13-Tier Angels?" One of the middle-aged men behind Nathaniel—his face sharp and chiseled like it had been carved from stone—visibly shuddered. It was as if he couldn’t hold back any longer, and he blurted out the question.

"Mhm..." Ethan nodded again. "The swords wielded by the Angels are called Judgment Swords. And on the blade of every Judgment Sword... burns this very Celestial Fire."

...

The moment those words left his mouth, the entire room fell into dead silence once more.

Not a single sound. Not even a whisper.

A 13-Tier Legendary Unit—an Angel’s Judgment Sword flame?

What kind of concept was that?!

No wonder it had instantly annihilated a 9-Tier Champion Unit from the Inferno faction like the Inferno Pit Fiend... With power like this, forget 9-Tier Champion Units—even a 10-Tier Royal Unit would probably be wiped out just as easily!

The realization sent shockwaves through everyone present, their minds reeling with disbelief.

For a long time, no one could find the words to speak...

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Isabella couldn’t hold back her amazement any longer.

"Ethan, you’re just... unbelievably strong..." she murmured, her voice filled with awe. "At this point... could you even take down a 10-Tier unit?"

She had always known Ethan was ridiculously powerful in the game, but experiencing it in real life was something else entirely. The game and reality were two completely different things—no matter how much she had imagined it, nothing could compare to witnessing it firsthand.

But now? Now she knew. She had felt it, seen it with her own eyes.

It was real.

"10-Tier units?" Ethan chuckled, but didn’t bother explaining.

With Nathaniel and the others present, there were some things he couldn’t say outright... but to him, a mere 10-Tier unit was nothing more than an insect.

After all, with all the time he had spent expanding his territory and conquering new lands, his hero level had unknowingly risen to Level 35.

And with Tier 3 Magic—Celestial Fire, a Level 3 Strategic Artifact—Dragonheart Shield, and other powerful trump cards at his disposal, his actual combat strength was already on par with 11-Tier wild units!

If he leveled up a few more times—maybe ten or so—he could probably take on 12-Tier wild units head-on without much difficulty.

In other words, 9-Tier and 10-Tier units? They were nothing to him. He could crush them as effortlessly as swatting a fly.

Isabella, oblivious to the deeper meaning behind Ethan’s reaction, simply took his response at face value.

But Nathaniel Grant and the three middle-aged men behind him? They weren’t so naive.

They exchanged glances, and in their eyes, a deep, overwhelming fear took root—fear, and an almost reverent awe.

Now, they finally understood why Ethan hadn’t taken the Scarlet Queen seriously at all.

Because he didn’t need to.

The difference in power between them was simply too vast. They weren’t even on the same playing field. Why would he bother acknowledging someone so far beneath him?

Just then, Ethan’s voice broke the silence.

"General Grant, there’s something I’d like to ask you."

Nathaniel immediately straightened up, his expression turning serious.

"Please, go ahead, Mr. Ethan."

"These units from Glory Lords X... how often do they appear in the real world?" Ethan asked.
