Chapter 242: The Domain of Dreams

The great cataclysm occurred roughly forty-six cosmic cycles ago, and the Human race, led by the Human Lord, reclaimed the Archaic region now known as the Human Domain through blood and tears from the dominant dragon species.

In the following years, the soon-to-be Dimension Lord created a concept. Over the course of several cosmic cycles, this concept was slowly nurtured into the Domain of Dreams.

This was an alternate dimension that went beyond the common norms and allowed the Human species to share information across distant spaces.

The Domain of Dreams, coupled with the Temporal Palace, allowed the Human species to plunder the most cosmic treasures amongst the Archaic Factions across the cosmic space.

Over time, the Domain of Dreams grew ever more complex a dimension, an infinite-dimensional construct that was maintained and nurtured by the Weaver of Dreams.

Just as the three Human generals who had acquired the title and authority of Human general whilst actually being Realm Fathers...

The Weaver of Dreams had the status and respect of a Human Emperor (Overlord) whilst universally acknowledged as a Human general (Dimension Lord).

Her power was a mystery to the entire cosmic space.

.....

Strategic planet, Eldara... Floating capital, Humanitarian Base...

So many otherworldly creatures sought the strategic planet, Eldara.

Not only was this an opportunity to enlighten the principles of the cosmic space with the assistance of the cosmic providence that had settled here, but it was also due to the Humanitarian Base stationed on this strategic planet.

This simple construction attracted hundreds and thousands of otherworldly creatures every cosmic cycle, from all corners of this minor region, and the nearby minor regions as well.

It offered the opportunity to step into the Domain of Dreams...

"It is said that the Weaver of Dreams was inspired by the Supreme realm, and so the construction of the Domain of Dreams was built in its likeness as well; however, this made it so that entering the Domain of Dreams was impossible unless one was in a safe environment."

Nocturne sat in the colorful cosmic void contained within one of the Rooms of Dreaming within the Humanitarian Base.

This was a room covered in protective arrays and magical formations, utilized when an entity was stepping into the Domain of Dreams for the first time.

It was also a safe place for secluded cultivation.

"Just like in the Supreme realm, when the Domain of Dreams was first established, the souls of otherworldly creatures were drawn out of the heart realm and into this special realm. Within this space, the soul can achieve a state of immortality; however, the flesh and inner realm in the outer world would be left unprotected."

Nocturne was surrounded by an incomprehensible aura. This was an aura concealed by a unique miniature prism-shaped cosmic treasure in the palm of their hand, but even the residual energy that escaped brought an inherent drowsiness that washed over the soul.

"It was only less than thirty cosmic cycles ago that the Domain of Dreams was further augmented by the Weaver of Dreams, with the assistance of the Human Lord. Now, once an otherworldly creature enters the first time, they would leave behind a sliver of their thoughts within, acquiring a perpetual residence within the Domain of Dreams."

Nocturne and Leren soon left him with the prism alone in the room of dreaming.

The thing in his hand struggled to contain whatever was within it, causing an energy that manifested as a black, smoky substance to escape.

He observed the little cosmic treasure with intrigue. This was a special Sealing-Type cosmic treasure that contained forms of energy, special objects, and so on.

It was similar to the space ring, but more so for things containing otherworldly natures and mysteries.

"Open," he lightly ordered.

Like gears shifting in place, following several clicking sounds, the smoky black substance exploded into the surrounding vicinity of the cosmic void with a void-shaking intensity.

Anon’s perception warped, and darkness overcame him.

This was a world of darkness, and for a while, he could not see anything.

Soon after...

"What you did to her is worse than death," a voice wrapped in an indescribable air of power, resounded from all directions.

A woman in a black dress held a long stick with a lantern, producing a small source of light in this world of darkness.

It struggled to make her appearance visible, an appearance that was covered by a veil, only revealing her inviting, red lips and the lower third of her face.

She commented, "At least, if she died, I could liberate her from the suffering that comes with intermingling with the Xerxes family."

Her visage did not deter Anon from knitting his brows and retorting, "Dear aunt, you may try to resist the otherworldly nature of your existence, but you know that you do not care for her."

His words fell like a hammer, followed by a thunderous boom that seemed to originate from all directions around him.

"Is it that you ascended now, so you do not respect the Lord of this Domain?!" The Weaver of Dreams was inherently indifferent to all things, unlike his aunt, Oneira.

The weight of universes containing infinite mysteries pressed down on Anon’s inner world, causing his willpower to tremble and his cultivation to crumble.

The Paradisical Lord showed a hypnotic smile, "Or is it the strength of a little Dimension Lord that has you like this?"

"Ah... What would your sister think? Of the current you?" Anon spoke as if he were not affected by the immense weight of infinite cosmic mysteries.

"Where did that girl come from? Your daughter’s blood reeks of my father’s scent..." He spoke with a ridiculing tone.

It was unprecedented that a mere otherworldly knight was scorning an Overlord.

No one in the cosmic space, and those outside, would believe it.

But Oneira heard this, and the immense pressure that threatened to obliterate Anon’s cultivation, dispersed like a dying flame in winter.

Were you eager for my mother’s death, so that you could jump into the Human Lord’s arms?

He did not need to say this out loud, but she still found a way to hear it.

In truth, Anon genuinely believed that this was the case.

"That’s not true..." Oneira’s voice was as faint as a whisper. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

Not many things could take hold of an unfathomable soul, much less an abstract soul, and don’t even speak of a paradisical soul.

For Oneira to be left in this state, the true complexity of her emotions had likely reached an incomprehensible depth.

Likely, it would drive an unfathomable soul mad and directly shatter a mortal’s soul.

Anon inwardly snickered, which did not go unnoticed by the Paradisical Lord; however, she did not have the mind to say anything.

Outwardly, though, he sighed with emotion in the depths of his eyes and appeared to think in deep contemplation for a while before deciding to change the subject.

He said, "With you being the Weaver of Dreams, was there really a need for me to journey to Eldara simply to enter the Domain of Dreams?"

Acknowledging this opportunity he had presented to her, Oneira released a sigh of pent-up emotions and coldly explained, "Your father perpetually maintains an image, a false one, but an image nonetheless."

"Humans outside of Earthlings cannot enter Earth, so every Earthling, including you, must venture to planet Eldara to acquire the key to enter my Domain of Dreams..." She said, before thoughtfully adding, "Or maybe he wants you to get a taste of the cosmic space before taking on your first mission."

Chuckling, Anon replied, "I doubt the second. I’ve not tasted anything noteworthy in this excursion."

"Yes, we are knowing." She gently shook her head, "The execution of a hundred otherworldly knights, and then whatever that was with the planetary leaders, we know of everything."

"Your father maintains a false image, and through your hands, it’ll be ruined."

"Hehe..." Hearing her say it so directly, Anon couldn’t help but cover his face, a little shy, "Don’t make it sound like that. I was upholding his image by punishing them for their unruly thoughts and excessive behavior."

Oneira pursed her lips, "Was it not your actions that were excessive?"

Shaking his head with visible disappointment in his eyes, he scornfully muttered, "Another one who confuses their own otherworldly nature, doubting my actions."

"The more I interact with you, the more you resemble your father." The Weaver of Dreams emotionlessly stated.

She gently shook her stick, and the lantern released a dazzling light that transformed the world of darkness.

[Dreaming Status Loading...]

An ethereal, soul-soothing voice resounded in Anon’s mind. The voice was similar to his aunt’s; however, there was a distinct difference as well.

[13%... 27%... 67%...]

A dreamy, holographic loading screen appeared in his eyeline.

Simultaneously, the world around him began transforming, beginning with the manifestation of a dazzling cosmic sky, lit up by myriad colors of stars and cosmic radiance.

[Dreaming Status Configuration Completed]

At the same time, a status window appeared before his eyes, and the world around him was also completed.

His own figure was shadowy and undiscernible, and he appeared to be within a futuristic city with innumerable other figures going about their day.

To his side, a little fairy with otherworldly features, purple hair, and radiant, dreamy eyes parted her delicate, cherry red lips, revealing two rows of white teeth and two pairs of mischievous fangs.
