Myriad Devils-Chapter 241: What does it matter?
The reason why the floating capital alone was so large was solely due to the nature of otherworldly creatures and their bodies.
One must understand that they contained entire cosmoses within their bodies. One could say, the larger they manifested themselves as, the more comfortable they felt.
In retrospect, the five hundred million square miles of the floating capital were not as large as one would imagine.
Even the entirety of planet Eldara, which was several tens of thousands of times larger than Earth, was barely worth mentioning.
Likely, only the central planets of minor regions, or maybe even major regions, were where otherworldly creatures could genuinely live in comfort.
The otherworldly bodies of entities spanning several miles and tens of miles made their way through the city’s infrastructure.
One could imagine how large the seven chained palaces constructed by dark gold were...
Once stepping out of the palace made from dark gold, the duo were greeted by the appearance of an individual possessing an alluring and androgynous beauty, characterized by tousled black hair that framed their pale, striking face.
They wore an extravagant ensemble featuring a fitted black suit partially shrouded by a dramatic cloak of rich red fabric adorned with layers of roses and intricate embellishments.
"Nocturne, representative of planet Eldara’s Humanitarian base, greets the Honorable Young Lord." Their voice was ethereal, difficult to distinguish between male and female.
Hmm?
Anon knitted his brows.
This person had meditated for more than a day and a night in wait, just outside the palace doors.
The only person who could not peer into the truths of what was occurring within this palace was Seraphis, since his perception had already been corrupted by Anon’s Infernal power.
Seraphis was completely unaware...
Seeing his expression, Nocturne smiled and explained, "What the Young Lord has done can be considered merciful. By offending you, they are essentially offending the Supreme Commander. By offending the Supreme Commander, aren’t they offending the entire Human species?"
Hehe...
"You," Anon approached the representative of the Humanitarian base located on planet Eldara. For a time, his eyes were not of a radiant gold, but a primal red.
Nocturne did not resist being grabbed by the waist before being firmly pulled toward him.
It was an unusual sight to see two entities who had not crossed paths for longer than a few moments suddenly connect tongues in front of him, so Leren could only awkwardly remain on the side, opting to reduce his presence akin to air.
Seeing the weirdness festering within him, waves of satisfaction flooded Nocturne’s heart, causing them to side-glance at Leren with a gloating eye.
After the two separated, Nocturne swiftly assumed a professional visage and explained, "The planetary leaders were assigned to lead you to the base for you to enter the Domain of Dreams; however, they are currently occupied... so we have no choice but to excuse them."
Shaking his head, Anon said with a disappointed sigh, "I did not expect to find this kind of unprofessionalism in the first strategic planet that I visited."
"The Human race does not need such unscrupulous swine." Nocturne coldly berated, "Many otherworldly warlords desire their position, and if that is not possible, we can nurture a handful of otherworldly knights who were born on this planet to become the six new planetary leaders."
The fates of six otherworldly warlords were casually determined in a sarcastic exchange between two like-minded individuals.
Standing at the side, Leren felt his view of the world altering.
Anon was one thing, but to meet one more corrupted individual in his view was detrimental to his sanity.
Worst of all, this was an otherworldly warlord.
To see such a powerful figure reduced to sucking up to a newly ascended otherworldly knight was unbecoming of the title.
Anon revealed an angelic smile on his divine face and commented, "Good, good, at least, there are still one or two in my Human race who are respectable, competent, and visually pleasant."
There was no reason for him to say that last bit aloud, but it was what truly mattered to the ears of the otherworldly warlord before him.
Nocturne acted coquettishly upon hearing his words. Apparently, blood rushed to their face, causing a blush to form.
Not only was this image striking, but rather than give birth to lust, the sexual radiance contained in this image was too complex, which would drive mortals who only glimpsed it mad.
Indeed, Anon’s chaos blood began stirring with intentions, but a radiant brilliance from his eyes calmed this brimming storm.
Evading his eyes, Nocturne finally said, her voice trembling a little, "Why don’t I bring you to the Domain of Dreams now?"
Leren heard this and sighed in relief.
Though this interaction had made him forget about the disgusting scenarios that occurred and were still occurring within the banquet, the discomfort that their conversation brought him was likely just as bad.
However, when the duo, led by Nocturne, stepped out of the region where the seventh palace resided, a veil of obscurity was shattered.
The misdirected sentinel finally saw the truth.
The welcoming banquet, which he observed from afar, was no banquet whatsoever. The actual occurrences taking place within this banquet were not something that could be easily described.
Before the three could take one more step toward their destination, Seraphis appeared in front of them, visibly seething with rage...
"What. Did. You. Do!" He wanted to roar, but this was the young lord. He could only swallow a bottomless pit of rage and grumble words between his teeth.
"A mere planetary sentinel should watch his words..." Nocturne was initially about to step forward, but Anon’s outstretched hand pulled them back to his side.
Tilting his head, seemingly in doubt, he asked the sentinel with a dubious voice, "What did I do?"
"Y-You!" Seraphis roared.
This time, he was completely enraged; this was too much for him. His inherent nature was aligned toward peace, and he was caring toward the weak.
Discerning the scenes within that banquet, it was so stimulating that it even took effect on his unfathomable soul.
The planet trembled, seemingly wrathful as well.
It appeared that the anger he felt began clouding his judgment.
This spoke volumes in and of itself, since otherworldly creatures transcended mortal emotions and desires, simply to make an otherworldly creature feel something, the emotion or desire would need to be so overwhelming that it would drive a mortal insane.
Clearly, what Anon did was too much.
Seeing that his words were not received well by the planet’s sentinel, Anon brought his deviltry to a halt and explained slowly, "The planetary leaders offended me, just as you did. Or did you think that I am willing to be stepped on like a masochistic mongrel?"
"The fact that I am not seeking out any remuneration from you goes to show that I still have a sliver of respect for your strength."
"This sliver is hanging on for dear life, so do not disperse it with your own two hands." Anon mixed lies and a false bravado with truths, his expression remaining deadpan throughout.
Seraphis was slightly stunned.
The trembling planet slowly returned to normal, almost like a passing earthquake...
Retorting was an option, but what would it accomplish?
Though he did not know the means this young lord had used to commit this depravity, it had unknowingly confirmed what he had previously wished to disbelieve.
’In exchange for abnormal strength, this young lord is a human with no humanity.’ Seraphis shook his head and showed a meaningful glance toward Leren before brushing past the three and stepping into the palace.
Shifting his gaze toward the two at his side, Anon showed an unreadable expression and asked with some amusement in the depths of his voice, "Do you all also believe that I am a human that lacks humanity?"
For a moment, silence fell.
Leren was taken aback by his words.
’Do you want me to answer truthfully, and offend you?’ Leren inwardly sighed, his mood already unpleasant, and plummeting the longer he stayed near this pair.
"The Young Lord represents humanity. Saying that the Young Lord lacks humanity is akin to saying that the Human species is a race of dragons or demons... it does not make any sense." Still held in his embrace, Nocturne showed an inviting smile and explained.
Upon hearing this, Anon really could not let go of this pleasant otherworldly creature.
Nocturne’s train of thought was incredibly beautiful to look at.
It was a pity that such a creature lacked the necessary strength to stay at his side; otherwise, Anon would return to Earth at this very moment and acquire his father’s blessing.
After all, he was still a filial son, and this was an adorable doll.
Looking at the contemplative Leren, "It is okay," Anon chuckled, "You need not answer."
The three stepped toward their next destination, disappearing from the region where the seventh palace resided in but a moment.
Scrutinizing the starry expanse beyond the planet’s atmosphere, Anon revealed a dazzling smile and pondered inwardly, ’The world is so vast. Though Leren cannot comprehend me, and Nocturne is only an adorable doll, there will naturally be one who is my counterpart.’
Even though he could see through these people and assess the structure of their thoughts, Anon still found it odd that otherworldly creatures like Leren and Seraphis existed.
What was so wrong?
Seraphis and the planetary leaders had provoked him, so he decided to punish everyone.
This was after being provoked, but so what if he had done it on a whim?
He was once a mortal who succeeded in otherworldly ascension with second-world cultivation.
He was an otherworldly knight comparable to Dimension Lords.
He was the son of the Human Lord.
The Young Lord.
The Chosen.
The Destined One.
The Second Coming...
