Myriad Devils-Chapter 234: Cosmic Providence
The ruling races in the cosmic space had all attained a great amount of cosmic providence.
The origin planet of an Overlord generated immense cosmic providence, blessing those native to this planet, and at times, when the planet’s providence was incredible, it would filter into the near regions.
The Holy Land, Earth, was much more incredible than that. Not only did it birth more than one Overlord, the very first Overlord was unlike any other.
The cosmic providence generated through this path assisted the birth of brilliant individuals and increased the likelihood of Human generals being born; however, what truly mattered to those in power was the cosmic providence attained.
Attaining cosmic providence was much simpler than birthing an Overlord.
Dominate. Rule. Plunder.
The vaster the region, the greater the cosmic providence.
The cosmic space had a total of sixty-three Archaic regions, with each ruling race dominating at least one of these regions.
There were innumerable minor regions; hence, the cosmic providence attained through ruling one was minuscule.
Within each prime region were anywhere between 10,081 and 129,000 major regions.
The little guys fought over those.
Between 108 to 365 prime regions existed within an Archaic region.
Entire races amongst a species ruled over the Prime regions.
For example, there was a Tabaxi race amongst the Human species that gave birth to an Overlord, and their people ruled over more than one Prime region.
The Human general of Void Shrinking was the Holy daughter of the Tabaxi people.
They were a powerful people, and their women were beautiful warriors greatly favored by the Principle of Space.
This was one of the many races amongst the Human species, which included the legendary Earthlings as well.
For Archaic regions, though, species battled species in cosmic wars of the grandest scale. The providence of an Archaic region varied greatly.
Of the sixty-three known Archaic regions across the universe, some had even been destroyed in cosmic wars.
How vast were the Archaic regions?
Tsk, tsk, tsk...
It was obvious who was the cause of an Archaic region’s destruction, right? Ever since that became a possibility, a universal rule between species was established.
Overlords were forbidden from mingling with the cosmic wars, and an Overlord’s involvement within the cosmos itself was greatly limited.
Overlords kept each other in check.
They allowed Dimension Lords to assume responsibility of the race, and detached themself from the cosmic space.
No Overlord would easily intervene in the cosmic space, even if their own species was at risk of extinction; otherwise, it would allow other Overlords the opportunity to set aside grievances and work in unison to deal with this brazen Overlord.
These entities were simply itching, awaiting such a possibility.
No Overlord wished to see the birth of another, and they especially wished to see the end of their counterparts.
But why?
Why fight for cosmic providence?
Outside of the earlier stated truths, even an Overlord benefited from cosmic providence.
Anon exhaled a misty breath of golden air.
He had spent quite a bit of time focusing on enlightening the Principle of Destiny, acquiring information about the cosmic space in the process.
A genuine smile played on his lips.
’With my identity as humanity’s young lord, I also have a share of cosmic providence. The time required to consolidate my otherworldly ascension has diminished slightly.’
Only slightly.
Anon had not contributed much to humanity, so he did not acquire much cosmic providence. It was solely due to his status that he had some in the first place.
And most of it was thoroughly burned away during his otherworldly ascension.
This cosmic providence...
’It makes comprehending and enlightening the Principles of the cosmic space much easier. No wonder they battle for it. Even I, with my excellent comprehension ability, can see improvements.’
Truthfully, he was itching to join the Chaotic Ruins Chaos Field now.
He was itching to go slaughter entire races amongst enemy species and plunder cosmic providence; however, in this delicate time, he needed to be patient.
He was incredibly weak at this moment.
Overlords could probably kill him with a glance.
’Dimension Lords will be troublesome for me. Some might not be capable of killing me; however, destiny says that there are certain Dimension Lords that are as dangerous as Overlords...’
The cosmic space was not for the daft, careless, or arrogant.
Even he, the son of the Human Lord, and the most incomprehensible otherworldly creature, needed to remain as cautious as possible.
Incomprehensible in nature, because as an otherworldly knight, he was not necessarily afraid of Human generals.
This was... simply put, if heard by others, it would bring him endless trouble merely due to the perceived arrogance and ignorance in such thinking.
However, it would be they who were the ignorant, but they would know it not.
Sigh~
"One step at a time. Consolidate, and then we go from there." He mused aloud.
Indeed, he finally had the protagonist’s ability to muse out loud and be heard by no one...
Once getting a good chuckle at these thoughts, Anon’s expressions slowly turned solemn.
’The Saintess congratulates me? Besides the devil... The Infernal god’s incarnation, I personally know of no one originating outside of Earth, much less an entity that can so casually ask a favor from an Overlord.’
Anon was perplexed, especially since his Principle of Destiny failed him completely. It was akin to searching for a needle in a pitch black room.
"Hah... am I already becoming so reliant on the prowess of this principle?" he whispered under his breath, "Think from another perspective."
’Someone titled Saintess would likely be of a notable identity. I’ll naturally come to know once I enter the Domain of Dreams and search through a greater sea of knowledge about my Human species.’
It was always uncomfortable being out of the loop, hence why he greatly disliked the many schemes surrounding him.
Hence why he made seeking the knowledge of the unknown his life’s purpose.
Now that he had concluded that the knowledge of the Saintess would come to him naturally, he was much more relieved.
Defeating the desire to plunder cosmic providence for the moment, and defeating the doubts in his heart surrounding the Overlord’s words, only three things were dominating his thoughts now.
One could not be easily solved... he didn’t even know where to start.
The other was in the process of being solved, but he still needed time.
Finally, he delved within his body.
The blessings from the four principles of the cosmic space were only one of many gifts that he acquired after succeeding in his unprecedented otherworldly ascension.
So it was best to start with them.
The Principle of Fire was self-explanatory.
Due to the flame rune originating from a certain Dimension Lord figure in the Infernal realm, Anon’s Principle of Fire predominantly had an undying effect.
This went further than simply an attack that refused to extinguish; it also worked the other way.
Through it, unless his opponent(s) had ways to deal with it, he could achieve a state of perpetual rebirth.
This alone made him invulnerable amongst otherworldly knights, not counting the rest of his power.
The Principles of Fate, Destiny, and Inevitability worked in unison with one another. Of the three, Inevitability was the most aggressive and especially suited for direct combat.
Its inherent nature, amplified by the Principle of Fate, made his own attacks unavoidable and, well, inevitable... Due to this, the Principle of Inevitability was actually quite aligned with his Infernal side.
Fate was the most aligned with his Celestial persona, heavily due to its inherent nature.
This was a principle that amplified the unpredictability of his attacks; however, that was an insignificant portion of its true power.
The Principle of Fate was inherently skilled at influencing, manipulating, and controlling. This was not limited to other sentient lifeforms, but non-sentient creations, and even events.
Influence and manipulate the past to control the present, and the present to control the future. It was not impossible to align future events with his own desires, but it was limited only by his knowledge.
Aligning future events went hand in hand with his Principle of Destiny, which worked seamlessly with his Principle of Fate to unravel the secrets of the world for him.
It wasn’t just unraveling the mysteries of the past and present. After all, it wouldn’t be called the Principle of ’Destiny’ if it did not involve the future as well.
Naturally, this was all hypothetical, and he still needed to enlighten them.
’By the time I arrive on planet Eldara, with solely these four principles, Realm Fathers will become nonentities to me.’
For him, Otherworldly Warlords, universally labeled Realm Fathers, were indeed nonentities; however, this involved his entire sea of power.
The power originating from his own Principles was, at least in this current moment, not his strongest form of power.
Naturally, he needed to thank his second and third fathers for this.
’Is it okay to say that I love you all, my dearest Celestial Supreme, and my love, the great Infernal god...?’
It was vital that the Human Lord protected Anon’s thoughts from being gazed at; otherwise, these two incomprehensible entities would surely be raging from such thoughts, and itching to descend into the cosmic space!
