Myriad Devils-Chapter 227: The Pure Land
The Pure Land
This was a realm of untold revelations and inconceivable sightings. Numberless forms of energy danced through the air, assuming the image of myriad colors.
Elusive whispers played throughout.
Childish and hypnotic laughter resounded across the realm of originality.
This was a land of purity.
This was not a ’piece of land’ or something like that.
This was the center of the Cosmic Space, or more accurately, this was the heart of the Cosmic Space.
The heart of the World!
The Pure Land.
The quintessential essence of all Principles that made up the Cosmic Space resided within the Pure Land.
The quintessential essence of a Principle!
What was this even?
The Principles of the Cosmic Space were concepts that completed the dimensional structure known as the Cosmic Space.
Without them, the Cosmic Space would be unstable and imperfect.
More importantly, these Principles were inherently eternal and infinitely powerful.
They are concepts that can’t be comprehended by mortal existence.
Even a stellar fighter favored by a Principle can, at most, wield an infinitesimally insignificant amount of its power.
For example, if an aspect of a Principle contained what is merely one percent of a Principle’s might, then a mortal would, absolutely, only be capable of unearthing a trivial fraction of the might contained within an aspect.
On the other hand, even a newly ascended otherworldly creature can unearth something akin to a percentage of a Principle’s might.
This was the unassailable mountain separating mortals and even the weakest, newly ascended otherworldly creature!
Even then, there were differences between otherworldly creatures.
These differences made it possible to see the rift between any two otherworldly creatures larger than the disparity between a mortal and a newly ascended otherworldly creature.
These differences...
They begin as early as the point an otherworldly creature comes into being.
The otherworldly power scheme was very simple.
Cosmic Forging, Realm Father, Dimension Lord, and Overlord.
Each race had its own ranks, but they were inherently based on these universally acknowledged realms of power.
Everything else was slightly more complex.
The gap between each realm was vaster than the imagination of one in a lesser realm, and the imagination of any one member in the lowest realm, Cosmic Forger, was much vaster than a mortal’s imagination.
And yet, many times across the annals of Cosmic History, one in a lesser realm can be found fighting on equal footing with one in a higher realm.
Hardly ever, but still not unprecedented, is one who, as a Cosmic Forger, slays a Realm Father.
Too many things dictate the power wielded by any one otherworldly creature.
One of these things involves the otherworldly ascension itself.
When a fifth worlder ascends, they are reborn into an otherworldly creature. As a newborn otherworldly creature, they would also acquire an otherworldly physique.
Even the most ordinary newly ascended otherworldly creatures would be congratulated by any one Principle that had a spirit affinity with them when they were mortal.
The most ordinary otherworldly body was an Earthly physique. Though the most common, it could still absorb a fragment of a Principle’s blessing which came with its congratulations.
The benefits of Earthly physiques vary; however, the one thing that remains habitual is the process of otherworldly consolidation.
This was a period in which they absorbed a Principle’s blessing.
This was one of the most sought-after states of existence in the Cosmic Space and was unique solely to newly ascended otherworldly creatures.
The acknowledgment of a Principle was a once-in-a-lifetime event, even in the eternal lives of otherworldly creatures!
Thereupon completing the process of otherworldly consolidation, one with an Earthly physique would’ve enlightened nine percent of the Principle they’re aligned with.
An Earthly physique could only absorb a very limited amount of the Principle’s blessing, allowing the otherworldly creature to enlighten but nine percent of said Principle.
Enlightening a Principle!
The pinnacle of a Cosmic Forger was enlightening nine percent of a Principle.
It is more common for a Cosmic Forger to become a Realm Father before enlightening ten percent of a Principle than the other way around.
If a Cosmic Forger can enlighten ten percent of a Principle before becoming a Realm Father, there will be no hurdle hindering them from becoming one.
They could already be treated as one.
However, this meant that even the most ordinary otherworldly creature with an Earthly physique was already on the cusp of the realm of power, Realm Father.
Naturally, this was only achieved once an Earthly physique completely consolidated the blessings they received from their otherworldly ascension.
The period of otherworldly consolidation was long, but it was a period in which, enlightening a Principle came with weaker bottlenecks. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
It was theoretically impossible to complete otherworldly consolidation and not enlighten nine percent of a Principle.
Thereafter, enlightening one more percent would result in...
Ten percent!
Even the most ordinary Realm Father had enlightened ten percent of a Principle.
For those with Earthly physiques, it was a great hurdle.
With the end of the period of consolidation, to enlighten another percent of the Principle was thousands of times more difficult than the previous percentages.
This difficulty continuously and dramatically increased with every percentage beyond ten percent.
On the other hand, those who were reborn with Cosmic physiques would find enlightening ten percent as a minor bottleneck, and to continue enlightening more of their principle would be a process of time consumption, and nothing else.
These were entities acknowledged by a Principle, aligned with their spirit, for succeeding in otherworldly ascension with fourth-world cultivation.
One with a Cosmic physique would be on the cusp of enlightening twenty percent of a Principle upon completing the process of otherworldly consolidation.
The single percentage separating nineteen twenty could even be considered to be as vast as the universe is in the eyes of a mortal.
Thirty percent, fifty percent, seventy percent, ninety percent...
It can be imagined that those who succeeded in otherworldly ascension with cultivation in the third world would be greatly blessed.
Across the entire Cosmic Space, such an event was exceedingly rare and would spur any one Principle to descend and congratulate such an entity in the form of divine manifestations.
They were reborn with Transcendent physiques, and their potential was said to be infinite.
Simply put, Transcendent physiques gave birth to Overlords!
Once such an entity could remain alive, to become a Dimension Lord was all but guaranteed.
After all, they even spurred a conceptual existence, such as a Principle of the Cosmic Space, to exit the Pure Land and descend into the world of the Cosmic Space.
Finally...
For the one who succeeded in otherworldly ascension with cultivation in the second world...
This was an existence that had unknowingly and ignorantly terrified the Celestial Supreme, almost devouring the entirety of his Will.
This was an anomaly that had devoured the blood of the Infernal god, assimilating the characteristics contained within such a drop of blood into its own body.
This was a freak of existence.
It was...
No.
Anon.
Anon Xerxes.
’It’ still had a name.
’It’ still considered itself Anon Xerxes.
Such an existence, upon succeeding in his otherworldly ascension, was congratulated, naturally.
The Pure Land congratulated him.
The Cosmic Space congratulated him.
Each Principle congratulated him.
Such an existence stood in the Pure Land, the heart of the Cosmic Space.
This was an existence that was tall and imposing, with a deep, rich black complexion. His skin was embellished with intricate golden patterns, adding a touch of opulence and sophistication.
His long, flowing white hair cascaded down his back, shimmering like silk and framing his face in a halo of light.
This was hair that had ethereal qualities, enhancing his otherworldly presence, contrasting magnificently with his dark skin.
His features were striking and sharp.
High cheekbones and a strong jawline that exuded confidence.
His eyes were intense, glowing, unfathomably deep, and expressive. He also had elongated, pointed ears, adding a mystical element, originating from a connection with the Celestial Supreme.
His physique was slim yet exquisitely toned, showcasing powerful arms and a sculpted chest that whispered of strength and grace.
He was adorned in flowing white garments that draped elegantly around his body; the fabric contrasted well with his dark skin.
Golden accessories adorned his body, including large, ornate earrings that caught light and multiple armlets that wrapped around his forearms, augmenting a particular regal air that enveloped his brilliant radiance.
His fingers were long and elegant, with sharp, claw-like tips. It was beautiful, yet failed to obscure an undeniable danger.
Most notably, the large, majestic wings that sprouted from his back were a breathtaking sight, with feathers that appeared almost luminescent.
They gave an air of divinity and power.
A subtle, golden halo encircled his head, emphasizing his celestial nature and imbuing him with an aura of majesty and grace.
He grinned.
Even his eyes smiled.
And the pupil on a third, vertical eye between his brows, gleamed with a dark light.
The devil hid behind layers of false tales, beautiful lies.
The Infernal god was such a devil.
The Celestial Supreme was also such a devil.
His father, too, was that kind of devil.
Now, he as well could be considered one, obscured by false tales of divinity and beautiful lies.
’This world...’
Not just the Cosmic Space, but beyond it.
’In this world, myriad devils run rampant.’
Myriad Devils.
’If it were to be named, maybe it would be something along those lines.’
