Chapter 147: Returning by death

When beings wielding power in the third world confronted one another, the repercussions caused by such acts greatly altered the world for some time.

There were wind blades running across the drifting rock, growing in size the closer they were to the location of the battle between the stellar fighter duo and the beast generals. Forming in the middle of said battle was a multitude of sizeable whirlwinds.

There were numerous gaping holes running across the earth as the land had completely shattered under the forces at work.

Although Seth and Anon were focused on the very center of the chaos, they were both indifferent in the face of this destruction.

When one’s life was hanging in the balance, one would tend to care slightly less about the appearance of nature.

Over three hundred meters away, what the duo was focused on was actually the white creature that laid unmoving.

Thump!

It was only the sound of a vibrant heartbeat, and yet it traveled across the distance separating it from the pair of stellar fighters, causing their ears to twitch involuntarily.

At the same time, rising from its unmoving body were wisps of a strange aura.

This aura grew more and more powerful overtime. Meanwhile, the green and blue beast general corpses had underwent peculiar changes. As if the flesh and blood had been drained from their bodies, they suddenly adorned the appearance of wrinkled sacks of bones.

When seeing the rising aura of the white beast, Anon felt an urge to attack this creature that was so clearly building up power, but a trace of caution flashed through his eyes. Instead, he turned to Seth and asked, "Instead of striking while it’s down, are we going to wait for it to grow more powerful?"

Seth heard this and a silvery light flashed in the depths of his eyes.

Then, his lips curled upwards as he replied, "Are you truly certain that it’s in a weakened state?"

He asked this but did not look back at Anon. Instead, stellar cosmic energy surged in his surroundings as he flicked his wrist.

Anon’s gaze focused on this wave of blood aura as it flickered with crimson brilliance through the air, crossing a great distance and striking toward the unmoving beast.

’Is this yet another ability?’ Anon groaned inwardly. He was truly caught by surprise by Seth’s sudden actions. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

After all, straining the spirit and then recovering using stellar cosmic energy was the essence of cultivation.

In a way, participating in life-and-death battles was a form of cultivation as it did just that, strained the spirit, and the act of recovering from battle then completed this act of cultivation.

Similarly, as one battled and utilized their principles, they also grew more familiar with it.

Using one’s principle over and over again, and growing more familiar deepened one’s understanding of said principle, allowing one to break through the barriers of one’s cultivation.

Familiarizing oneself with one’s principle and gaining a deeper understanding of said principle is what allowed one to enter a higher layer or a higher world.

It is also what allowed one to grasp new abilities and be capable of manipulating one’s principle in a greater multitude of ways.

But what Seth showed completely contradicted this knowledge.

Since Anon himself was a second worlder, he could easily deduce what was and was not possible with the familiarity a second worlder had with their principle.

Seth’s ability to manipulate his principle would make sense to Anon if the other was in third world or higher, but as he was a fellow second worlder, every time Seth pulled out a different ability, it left Anon questioning reality.

’It genuinely does not make sense. Okay, so you can use so many differing abilities, but you aren’t in a higher world? The only way that would even make sense is if...’ Anon squinted his eyes with doubt as he thought of a possibility.

If Seth was familiarized with his principle to such a degree but was not in a higher world, then it only meant that his spirit was limiting him. But since he was able to manipulate stellar cosmic energy, then obviously his spirit wasn’t injured.

It was not injured, yet it limited him?

Just as Anon shook his head in resistance toward these thoughts, feeling it was too far-fetched to be true, the blood aura that Seth sent out shone with a translucent crimson light as it arrived within striking distance of the unmoving white creature.

In the next moment, Anon’s face darkened and he hurriedly retreated dozens of meters. Though he was staring at the beast intently, under his fixed gaze, the creature had completely disappeared from his field of vision!

Seth did not move.

A hundred or so meters away from him, the creature appeared, standing upright. It merely glanced at Anon before shifting its focus on Seth.

The white creature had underwent some changes. Though it was only slightly taller than Anon, meaning that it was extraordinarily short for a beast general, its aura was several times more overbearing than before.

Its facial features was more complete now too.

With two white eyes lacking pupils, a nose, mouth, and long pointy ears, it also had a full beard of white hair and eyebrows that reached its ears.

Though it had a full beard, there were only a few strands of white hair on its head...

Protruding from its head were three bone horns that stabbed toward the skies, and sprouting from its back were two pairs of bony wings.

Its pale lips parted slightly before curling into a demonic smile.

It showed four rows of pointy teeth.

Staring at Seth, it was swiftly reminded of the difficult time that this human had put it through, causing a thick murderous intent to spill out of its eyes.

"So even if you are to die, you can return to the world of the living via the deaths of the three other beasts. Or is it that those three beasts were only parts of you from the very beginning, but for whatever reason, you had separated them from your true selves..." Seth mumbled under his breath.

As for what he said, to him, was not shocking. There were countless kinds of beasts roaming this world, and they all had all types of bizarre capabilities.

In comparison, the capabilities of this short white beast man wasn’t even that stunning.

Naturally, when Anon heard this, he rose an eyebrow. After he had reached his own conclusion toward the origin of Seth’s many abilities, he subconsciously placed more attention toward every word Seth casually spoke.

’Seth’s knowledge does not seem to originate from ordinary means.’ Anon pondered inwardly, ’Even if that so-called New World Order is behind him, some things he say still makes no sense. And some things he knows can’t be explained by just being from this new world order, right?’

What really was this new world order?

Anon gave it another thought.

For some time, he remained unfocused and lost in thought.

At the same time, the confrontation between Seth and the short white beast man was on the verge of commencing.

The distance of a hundred meters between them was continuously shortened as Seth casually stepped toward the creature.

And as if not to be outdone, toward Seth’s approach, the short white beast man grinned even wider and slowly made its way toward Seth’s figure.

"Upon returning to life, your strength must be well above your former self." Seth mumbled this to himself and seemed to be deep in thought. His eyes sometimes flashed with traces of silvery lights, but he did not appeared tense even in this situation.

He spoke in an unhurried manner, and his voice was steady.

"Before, it was four low level beast generals. Even then, each of you had an aspect that was nearing the level of a mid-level beast general. Now though, you’re well and truly a mid-level beast general, and even amongst mid-level beast generals, you must be quite strong." Seth said plainly, his brows knitting slightly.

This was not Blood Drip Jungle.

In the face of a great adversity, they would not be saved by the Supreme Commander.

’The power that the lord of the humans hold in this Lost Lands is greatly diminished in comparison to anywhere else in this world.’ When he thought of this, Seth smiled coldly.

’It is truly a case of not knowing whether to laugh or cry.’

Although he approached the short white beast man quite casually, the situation was in fact, rather grim.

The duo had fought against mid-level beast generals twice before.

However, one was a critically injured ape, and the other was a Dreadwing creature that did not specialize in killing opponents, but survival.

Indeed, against the Dreadwing, the duo could only watch on as it escaped.

To boot, even during that battle, they were not overwhelming the creature to the point of forcing it into a desperate spot.

And right now, Anon’s means had become limited after the injury to his spirit, Seth had become severely exhausted after the initial battle with this creature, and now it had returned from death with strength beyond even most mid-level beast generals.

Indeed, compared to the Dreadwing Harbinger and even the ape beast, this short white beast man had become more frightening and troublesome to deal with by a level or two.

The two were standing in close quarters. In such close proximity, the short white beast man appeared ecstatic as its eyes shone with a light of mockery.

Evidently, normal third world stellar fighters wouldn’t dare stand so close to a beast general due to the raw strength in a beast general’s body, and yet this human, not even of the third world, was so daring.

It was laughable.

And for this beast general, toward Seth, it only felt an endless bloodlust bubbling within. So when it suddenly attacked, Seth’s expressions froze as the world seemingly turned dark!
