Myriad Devils-Chapter 145: Revelation
Though Anon lost his eyes, he was finally able to see.
The blue beast had thrown him into a world of darkness, but it was in this darkness that Anon grasped the opportunity to glimpse at something unique.
Anon heard the green creature’s loud approach and stepped in its direction, but as he did, he lost balance and stumbled forward.
Seth was far away, amid a battle high in the sky, but he shared his focus between Anon’s situation and his own.
When he saw Anon fall toward the approaching beast head-first, Seth couldn’t help but curse out loud.
But what occurred thereafter remained a mystery.
He had no time to continue splitting his attention as the white creature swimming through the clouds growled loudly before diving towards Seth, releasing a flurry of rapid assaults one after the other.
The white beast had undergone another transformation. Its skin was battered and bruised, and there were countless wounds across its body, but these wounds regenerated at a rapid pace, and the blood that flowed from its bruises reversed its flow, disappearing.
Seth grunted in frustration as he flicked toward the white beast with his right hand. The sound of flowing water resounded throughout the sky as a blood river materialized out of nowhere.
Seth clicked his tongue in annoyance as the white beast stretched out its oversized arms toward the incoming blood river.
Although the stellar cosmic energy used to fuel this blood river was so innumerable that it made the air thick and heavy, the white beast did not show hesitation and made a ripping motion with its arms, grabbing out at the incoming blood river!
Whilst the beast was busy with his blood river, Seth’s gaze swiftly returned toward Anon’s situation on the earth below.
Crack!
Once more, Seth was forced by his adversary to immediately switch focus as a great danger in the form of a white beast approached him with endless ferocity.
There was a terrifying noise akin to the shattering of glass that resounded throughout the sky, dispersing the heaviness in the air caused by the summoning of stellar cosmic energy.
"This!" Seth’s eyes widened as his pupils visibly trembled.
Only a single moment had passed, but for Seth, the entire situation had changed.
Although Anon had lost balance and fell over, approaching the ground head-first, just as the green creature appeared within striking distance of Anon, the spear in his hand released a faint silvery gleam.
Anon’s left leg stomped into the earth, preventing him from falling over.
At the same time, he straightened his back and faced the incoming barrage of attacks from the green beast general.
The colossal beast general towered greatly over Anon. His figure was no different from an insect in the presence of a mighty human.
From behind, the blue-skinned beast general struck out toward his chest.
Much less evade these attacks, Anon had no eyes to witness them.
But what Anon saw was the silvery light in the shape of a spear. He saw what he gripped tightly with his right hand.
That alone was enough!
He stabbed out at the green-skinned beast general, manifesting a silvery light that shot through the beast general’s flesh.
It exited the other side of its body before drawing an arc in the air and attacking the blue-skinned beast that attacked Anon from behind.
The five claws collided with this silvery light, causing the creature’s face to contort strangely.
Anon’s ears twitched, causing him to take several steps to the side, creating a distance between himself and his adversaries.
The green beast had a gaping wound in its chest, but as suddenly as it appeared, it began closing even more quickly.
’Hmm?’ Anon mused to himself. ’I’m sure my spear soul struck a vital area, so why is it approaching me again as if unharmed?’
"The green beast general’s perk... Is it regeneration?!" As Anon’s deductions reached here, Seth repeated, "Blue is speed, dark is strength, and green is regeneration!"
He stood in the skies with a grim expression.
Some distance away, the white beast stood in the air with a blank face.
The bony wings on its back flapped slowly whilst droplets of blood fell from both its mangled arms. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
These arms.
Seth watched on as these injuries reversed at an extraordinary pace.
Though not as exaggerated as the green beast general, Seth had come to a despairing revelation.
The white beast generated strength almost comparable to the dark beast.
It also moved virtually as fast as the blue creature.
And its healing was nearly comparable to the green beast.
To add, it manipulated its flesh at its will.
"It has all the aspects of the others, along with an attribute unique to itself." Seth’s face darkened, "Tsk, tsk, things will inevitably become troublesome, very troublesome!"
Due to the monstrous abilities of the white beast, Seth’s focus could not be shifted. He hadn’t even perceived Anon’s use of his spear’s soul.
As the beastly creature approached him again, the staff in Seth’s hand broke down into dark, runic characters. These runic characters swirled around him and awaited to be willed by him as his crimson eyes shone.
When the white beast appeared within some dozen or so meters, it extended both of its arms toward Seth. Like demonic tendrils, its long and slender fingers suddenly expanded at high speed, piercing through the air with ferocity.
Over a dozen strange tendrils rushed toward Seth in an instant. And although they were several meters away from each other, such a distance was extremely close between entities at this level of prowess.
In the blink of an eye, these tendrils were lashing out at Seth. But the demonic symbols were like ancient patterns that etched themselves all over his skin, covering his bare upper body and arms, neck, face, and more.
A formless barrier seemed to take shape around him as he utilized an ability that he had not shown before. Once the tendrils made their way towards him, they appeared to come to an abrupt halt right before they could make contact with his skin.
Seth’s eyes glowed with a demonic light. He leisurely drew closer to the ’frozen’ tendrils, causing them to seemingly make way for him to pass.
The white creature tilted its head in confusion, but towards this, Seth only showed a half smile, remaining silent before striking!
Meanwhile, in the battle taking place on the land of the drifting rock, Anon maneuvered across the earth like a ghostly entity, wielding a phantasmal spear that left several false images in the air whilst colliding with the bodies of a strange green beast, and an untraceable blue creature.
The spear radiated a faint, peculiar aura. This aura left an illusory trail in its wake as it struck out toward the mighty monsters. As the spear’s tip landed on the green monster, Anon felt great emotion in his heart upon hearing the confused growls of the creature.
Previously, when he landed strikes on the beast, whatever wounds he left behind would heal almost immediately after. Its regenerative capabilities was unbelievably extraordinary, to the point that, before Anon lost his sight, there was a hopeless feeling growing in his heart.
With Seth trapped in the battle above, and with him surrounded by a much faster beast, along with an unkillable monstrosity, for a time, Anon did not see a way out.
With the exception of the encounter with the Cinder Fiend, and his first appearance in the Lost Lands, death never felt so close!
However, the scenario for him had underwent a drastic change. And now that his eyes had truly opened, he could easily perceive what change had taken place.
Though the world he saw was mostly void of anything, what he could see was the peculiar aura in the shape of a spear he wielded.
But more than that, every time he struck out with it and his attacks landed on his opponents, his spear left behind a trace of this strange aura.
Upon hearing the creature’s confused growls, Anon swiftly deduced that this trace of aura hampered the creature’s regenerative capabilities.
Such a deduction was not wrong!
But Anon still had not grasped the entire truth.
Whilst the green creature’s regenerative factor resisted this strange aura, the blue beast, though suffering from fewer wounds, was in a worse state.
The wounds it suffered continuously worsened overtime!
Although Anon was outnumbered, as time ticked away, the blue beast grew more weary of his attacks, and the green monstrosity became even more restless.
Even as the creatures broke through his defenses at times, as the battle drew out, Anon’s spear techniques grew sharper too.
And as the rate at which he accumulated injuries lessened, his eyes gradually healed and his vision slowly returned. Though blood seeped out of the corners of his lips and eyes, there was a faint smile on his face.
His eyes did not hide the pleasure he felt.
"If not for you two, who knows how long it would’ve taken me to ’see’ my spear’s soul. For that, let me make this quick." Saying this, Anon created some distance between them and himself.
Due to the lasting effects of Anon’s attacks, these beasts had grown very cautious, so they did not seek to close off the distance between them and Anon.
But Anon just stood on one spot at a distance , observing the two creatures intently.
Just when they could not resist no more, and they were about to wildly approach him, he suddenly made a move!
On his ring finger, the accessory let out a faint sound as a gourd appeared in his hand. Anon tilted his head back and lifted the Longevity Healing Gourd over his face, parting his lips.
The beasts watched on with visible doubt as a liquid fell into Anon’s mouth, and soon after, a unique energy encompassed his figure.
The wounds all across his body healed at a rate visible to the naked eye.
Even with their limited intelligence, these beasts immediately realized something odd and approached him with murderous intent.
But it was too late.
The gourd disappeared and the energy subsided.
Anon, perfectly healed, and with a sharp gaze, smiled meaningfully before glancing at his staff and taking a deep breath.
He only said a few words.
"Top-Tier Spear Technique- Breathless Suppression!"
