Chapter 128: Benevolence is always appreciated

When Anon descended the series of steps, from the inner portion of his wrist, go up his palm, and to the space between his middle and ring finger, and half of the backside of his hand, there was an exquisite tattoo that had altered Anon’s aura.

His eyes reflected a colder light, and carried a sharper glint than before.

Glancing at his hand, he thought, ’Importantly, there is no principle more suited for this spear than another. It all comes down to one’s mastery over the spear. As a master of the staff, transitioning to the spear should not be too difficult, and at the same time, will allow me to master the spear more quickly.’

Anon glanced at the accessory on his wrist.

There was a number displayed on it.

2,700.

He had completely devoured the merit points he had only just acquired.

But this was to be expected.

Besides the Cloud Severing Spear, he had also purchased a single 3,000 kilometer talisman. Because the talisman could be used up to three times, the price of a single one was incredibly high, costing a little more than 450,000 merit points.

Initially, Anon had intended to purchase a Divine weapon, followed by an escape-type magical item, and finally, an investigative-type magical item, but his plans changed after purchasing the escape-type magical item.

He spent the remaining merit points on a ring.

Interestingly, he opted to give Seth this ring.

"May we meet once again, young Anon. Seth..." The elder smiled strangely at the duo as they stepped out of the Hall of Treasures.

Behind the table at the entrance of the hall, he took a seat and opened a book, but his eyes were locked onto the backs of the two.

...

Hidden behind the clouds of Sector two was the mighty sun. Splintered rays of sunlight made their way down from the false sky.

There were many buildings structured throughout Sector two. Many were halls akin to the hall of treasures, ran by elders of the academy, they carried names like; hall of knowledge, hall of medicine, hall of combat, hall of discipline, and so on.

But there were also towering buildings that Anon failed to identify.

As they made their way through the sector, there were quite a few eyes that landed on them. After all, year two students were assigned dark green tactical wear, whereas year one students had black.

Anon and Seth, adorned in black tactical wear stuck out like sore thumbs. And in sector two, it was incredibly strange and rare to see year one students so daring.

’At the very least, although they seem curious, they have not attempted to make life difficult.’ Anon thought in relief.

Right now, he was not looking for trouble.

For the most part, year two students were second world stellar fighters. Compared to beast commanders with comparable power, stellar fighters had higher intelligence, and were capable of utilizing battle arts that could amplify their power.

It wasn’t unusual to see a stellar fighter injure or even kill a much stronger stellar fighter after utilizing a strange technique.

If he could, he would very much rather a scenario where he excused himself from sector two peacefully.

Then, as if reacting to his pacifistic thoughts, almost seamlessly, one of the nearby students stepped in front of the duo, blocking their path.

He had pale skin, short brown hair and black eyes.

Since neither Anon nor Seth had experienced a second growth spurt, although the youth in front of them was barely six feet tall, he was still able to look down on them.

Especially Seth, who was only 5’7.

There was a condescending smirk on his face, and his eyes were fixated on Seth.

Including the golden earrings he had on, the other accessories he adorned himself in made his arrogant nature even more prominent.

"Hey kid, why don’t you return to sector one now." He only spared a single glance at Anon, ordering him to leave, before shifting his gaze back to Seth.

When Anon heard these words, and saw this unfolding scenario, he took in a deep breath from genuine disbelief.

Anon almost beckoned him to repeat his words.

Not only was he focusing his attention on Seth, he was even kind enough to let him go?

Ignoring Anon, the boy continued by saying, this time towards Seth, "You came to Sector 2’s Hall of treasures, and I saw that you even spent quite some time inside."

His grin widened even more and he leisurely asked, "Is it that your fortune is good, and your merit points are numerous?" There was a mischievous glint in his eyes.

Seth’s expression did not change.

Instead, he remained silent.

At the same time, Anon attempted to separate himself from this brewing mess, brushing past the pale-skinned youth.

He had no interest in what Seth had done to rile up a year two student, nor was he interested in how Seth would de-escalate this situation.

’Since this kind fellow has mentioned merit points, I can only assume that he’ll attempt to acquire Seth’s merit points, even if that be through force. The only problem is that Seth lacks even a single merit point.’ Anon mused inwardly.

Even though it was partly because of him that this was the case, Anon still found it hilarious.

To get out of this situation...

Seth would probably be forced to confront this year two student.

A confrontation of magical attacks.

Who had the greater force would be the one to walk away!

"Why don’t you be a good junior? Benevolence is always appreciated." The youth did not directly ask for merit points, but what he hinted at was quite obvious.

Over a dozen meters away, Anon heard this and smiled inwardly. To see Seth be forced into this kind of situation carried a unique charm to him.

But Seth heard the boy’s words and chuckled lightly. He stepped closer to the second year student and placed his hand gently on the boy’s shoulder.

Although the youth’s grin slowly morphed into a frown at Seth’s casual disrespect, he did not do anything to stop Seth.

And then, Seth pointed towards Anon.

"What need do I have for pathetic treasures and merit points? If you so want those stuff, ask him. All of my merit points are his to use, and he’s bought a multitude of expensive things. In fact, if you were to acquire his treasures and have the academy purchase them once more, it might even grant you a surplus of a million merit points." Seth said.

’Seth...’ Anon groaned internally.

Anon had just heard these words when a hand pressed down on his left shoulder.

Although the pale-skinned boy was standing in front of Seth, he appeared several meters away, grabbing Anon by his shoulder too! 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Seth’s hand, placed atop the boy’s shoulder felt little resistance as it went through his body.

Naturally, it was a false body that slowly dematerialized into magical particles.

"Let’s not make this harder than it needs to be." The pale-skinned boy said whilst shaking his head, "You’re friend here caused a ruckus earlier. Honestly, I can’t remember if there was ever a first year student so daring. You can only blame your luck that you are friends with him."

"Whether he said the truth or not, I care little. Whoever has merit points, or treasures from the hall of treasures for that matter..." The pale-skinned youth stared coldly into the back of Anon’s head, and asked, "Why don’t you two be benevolent and help out your senior?"

’What would happen if I was to use the spear?’ Anon pondered inwardly. He had not mastered the spear. In fact, he had never used a spear before.

Due to the disparity in strength, there was a possibility that he might very well kill the second year by mistake.

’No, this is within the military academy. Highly likely, there are instructors observing this little mess in secret. If I am really about to kill him, they’ll intervene wouldn’t they...’ Anon deduced. Killing was strictly prohibited within the academy.

Although he might face some punishment for attempting to kill a student, the ’founder’ of the military academy, through the dean of year one, would make sure that such punishment wouldn’t be too severe, right?

Once his thoughts reached here, the tattoos inscribed on the palm and back of his right hand began to squirm before lifting up from his skin.

A sudden coldness burst forth, generating a formless wave of sharpness that spread out through the air and caused fine cuts to appear on the skins of the nearby students.

Those that were only watching on instinctively took several steps back so as to protect themselves.

Sensing the shift in the atmosphere, the pale-skinned boy frowned deeply before releasing his grip on Anon’s shoulder.

At the same time, he too retreated a few steps back.

But having already committed himself, Anon did not plan to let him off with just a warning.

Towards the distance that the youth created, Anon closed it in but a moment, and then struck out with the head of his spear.

Although complex movements utilizing the spear was inherently different compared to the staff, simple movements like thrusting had similarities.

Even though there was a blade on the end of the shaft, Anon did not seem too worried about harming his senior, and instead struck out with murderous intent spilling from his eyes.

The boy’s eyes visibly trembled in shock...

’This speed?!’ Alarm bells rang out in his mind.

His subconscious screamed danger, and his hairs rose upon perceiving the murderous aura that Anon’s eyes relentlessly spat out.

As the spear’s head drew closer, stellar cosmic energy was hurriedly summoned by the boy’s spirit as he drew power from his principle.

Before the tip of Anon’s spear could come in contact with the his chest, unknowingly, Anon’s spear began to slow down...
