Chapter 108: The power of an injured beast general

An illusory face of the Red Ape had manifested just above earth level.

Now that it had summoned its apparition, even in the depths of the crater, its entire body could not be held.

"This damned Seth." Anon groaned with annoyance at the destruction across the earth. There was an expansive hole in the earth that spanned almost half a kilometer!

Everything in the surroundings had been eviscerated by the Red Ape’s descent onto the fragile earth.

Due to the previous battle between the beast general and the countless other beasts, there were very few if any living organisms in the few miles that encompassed this battleground.

Then, the earth began violently shaking once more.

From the gorge, the creature’s hulking form shot into the sky at breakneck speed. The massive body left a trail of blood in its wake to fall from the sky like droplets of rain.

The manifestation behind its worldly form clapped its hands together, releasing a booming sound that traveled to all corners of the world.

A distance away, Anon saw the manifestation clap its hands which was then followed by an invisible wave of force that stretched outwards in all directions.

This wave screamed danger!

Anon reacted, pinching the air in front of him, causing a dark gold light to take form. Drawing a line across the air, this time it didn’t disappear as soon as it was created.

Then, Anon created some distance between himself and it, with the invisible wave rushing towards him and the gold line at a rapid pace.

’This ability’s still undeveloped, but its most basic function is to protect me.’ Anon thought. Still, from the look on his face, it was clear that he didn’t trust in it that much.

At the same time, the Red Ape’s focus was fixated on Seth who stood high in the sky with a face that made him appear completely unbothered by worldly affairs.

Flickering in the air around him were crimson particles. Droplets of blood shimmered in the air and swirled around his levitating body. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

The Red Ape’s apparition clenched its left arm and drew it back. At the same time, the wounds on its body grew wider as blood relentlessly spilt from its injuries.

Its clenching power affected the surroundings as the atmosphere appeared to be squeezed to a breaking point from the immense force that it cultivated.

The swirling blood around Seth buzzed with intensity as a tower made out of it unraveled, swallowing Seth’s figure.

And just then, the Red Ape punched out.

As its massive fist approached the blood tower, the atmosphere released suppressed groans as the sky seemed to tremble before spiderwebbed cracks formed.

Like shattering glass, the blood tower almost appeared to have been split into dozens of pieces as the world itself gave way under the Red Ape’s strength.

The blood tower crystalized before exploding into crimson light. Seth’s body was blasted across the shattered sky, coughing blood.

And though its own injuries appeared much worse than Seth’s, the massive beast general bolted across the sky with a wrathful face, rocketing towards the stellar genius.

But right then, a golden light spread across the world, momentarily covering the starry cosmic sky.

Like the second coming of the great sun star!

Anon appeared, standing in the cloudless golden skies, looking down on the hulking body of the Red Ape.

Behind him, dark gold illustrations etched themselves across the cosmic sky.

These drawings intertwined and hummed in the sky.

The air trembled violently, welcoming the manifestation of a gargantuan pillar that seemed to stretch from the earth to the sky and beyond, connecting heaven and earth!

It stretched for as far as the eye could see, going even further beyond.

Immensely large, it appeared as a bridge for mortals to ascend towards the ethereal world!

Magnificent and majestic, the aura it radiated was tremendously overwhelming.

Anon rose his right hand into the air, manipulating the great pillar.

"Victory Manifested."

His voice was rough, and as he spoke, his hand dropped, bringing down the massive pillar with it.

It felt like an illusion, as if he were in another world. Anon’s physical form wasn’t harmed by the pillar as it fell from the sky, even though he was trapped within it.

The pillar descended at a speed far beyond what the beast general could manage.

The beast general was powerless, watching as the pillar loomed over its battered body.

But surprisingly, upon making contact with the Red Ape, the mighty pillar didn’t seem to harm it whatsoever. Instead, it began rapidly shrinking whilst a dark gold aura exploded into its surroundings. Finally, a miniature version of the pillar shot out from the back of the towering Red Ape, towards the earth below!

In the blink of an eye, the gigantic pillar disappeared from the sky, but the towering beast appeared no different from before.

Even after the pillar passed through its body, it hadn’t suffered any additional wounds.

It momentarily stared at its own body puzzledly before raising its gaze towards Anon, fixating on him for a short while.

Then, it released an angered roar that travelled across the cosmic sky!

But Anon remained unphased.

In his eyes, oozing from every inch of the beast general’s towering body was a dark gold aura.

It spilled into the Red Ape’s surroundings, tainting it.

And as the ape roared out in anger and rushed towards Anon’s figure, he remained standing mid-air, unmoving, and appearing unbothered.

The stellar cosmic energies permeating the air lit up as the omnipresent energy was drawn in from all corners of the world, fueling the monumental apparition behind the beast’s body.

And as it pulled back its two right arms, one physical and the other part of the apparition, the atmosphere twisted and cracked.

Anon’s figure did not move!

The beast punched out, striking towards Anon.

Its punch caused the sky to tremble but at the same time, booming sounds that resembled sharp cracking noises resounded throughout the skies.

Fountains of blood rain spilled from the beast’s arm as it approached Anon’s figure. And as it drew closer towards Anon, the speed at which it approached him reduced tremendously.

In front of Anon, less than ten meters away, a mighty wall resided. It was the large fist of the Red Ape beast general!

The wounds running across its arm had opened up even more and its bones had fractured and shattered under the immense strain it placed its body under.

At the same time, Anon kept clicking his tongue again and again before smiling, "About time."

As his words fell, the blood that spilled from the beast general’s body and descended like a crimson rain from the sky, came to an abrupt halt.

Gurgling noises entered the world.

Even from four or five miles away, one would’ve heard the sound of a flowing river.

"This is paradise..." Seth murmured softly as he gazed at the endless stream of blood pouring from the sky.

"Blood River!"

His words echoed throughout heaven and earth.

Seth’s spirit summoned stellar cosmic energy, drawing out power from his principle, and following the thick blood aura palpating around his figure, the sound of a gushing river entered the world.

Rising from the earth was a beast general’s blood.

The droplets of blood shimmered with endless momentum, as if an entire world resided within.

As each droplet united, an infinite river of blood scaled upwards, rushing towards the cosmic sky, or more specifically, the towering beast that was bellowing in rage.

Arcing through the air, the blood river swallowed the beast general in an instant. It brought about much more ferocity and intensity than before, stretching into the horizon!

The river continued on its merry way as the Red Ape’s body was lost somewhere within it.

Several seconds went by before the entire blood river faded, leaving behind crimson remnants that gradually vanished from the air.

The Red Ape was left in a horrendous state.

It plummeted from the sky, lifeless.

Its body was marked by gaping holes in crucial areas, resembling a mere shell of its former self.

Its blood seemed to have been completely drained, leaving it a desiccated mass of flesh.

The Red Ape beast general fell into the gorge, forever lost in that bottomless abyss.

Anon’s figure turned hazy as he left a golden trail across the sky. Some distance away, where Seth was, he appeared, looking at him with visible frustration.

"Was your first attack necessary?" Anon kissed his teeth and asked.

"What do you mean?" Seth smilingly replied. Though a broad smile was plastered across his face, he couldn’t hide the exhaustion that his physical body suffered from.

Anon extended his hand, causing the bracelet on his wrist to glow. A blue light emerged, and the a pair of magical items materialized before him.

"You really didn’t care for the surroundings? Destroying the pool of Void Rain." Anon’s expressions was twisted as he said, "I’d have no problem if you had defeated the beast right then and there, but it was only an attack to test the waters. Was there a need for all of that?"

"I don’t know what you’re on about." Seth shifted his gaze to the decimated surroundings. He continued, "We came to battle a beast general, at least that’s what you claimed. I didn’t know that you had another purpose."

He chuckled lightly and said, "All that was on my mind was to defeat it."

Anon clicked his tongue but remained silent.

The pair of magical items returned to the separate space created by the military bracelet, disappearing from the real world.

"But what was that attack? It gave the same feel as the one you used against the blue-eyed one-winged monkeys, but was so much different." Seth said, changing the subject.

"It’s the same ability, but I’m just a little stronger now. And after seeing you battle the Red Ape, I was inspired a little. Rather than engaging in close quarters with a beast general, I think I should rely more on my magical attacks." Anon explained.

’Compared to my time in the first layer, I’ve been able to enhance it a bit more. Seth’s blood river also influenced its size.’ Anon reflected internally.

"Indeed." Seth agreed. "Battling the enemy from a distance is much safer than close range. Once you have the capability, it’s better to utilize that advantage to its fullest."
