Chapter 32 - A deal

As Tetsuya had suggested before leaving the hotel, the old man named Hiroshi was immediately rushed to the hospital by one of his subordinates, who found him drenched in blood, suffering from sword wounds and having lost one eye after Tetsuya gouged it out.

Fortunately, the old man was brought to the hospital just in time. According to the attending doctor, if he had been even a few minutes late, the god of death would have indeed come for him. The hospital staff quickly took action to perform surgery and save Hiroshi.

For over an hour, a short-haired man with black hair sat anxiously alone in front of the operating room. The door to the operating room opened, and a young man dressed in green surgical scrubs and wearing a mask emerged, walking toward him.

"Doctor, how is Mr. Hiroshi?" implored the man. He was one of Hiroshi's bodyguards, addressing the doctor who had just performed the surgery.

"We managed to stop the bleeding in his eye, but he still has to make it through the critical period tonight," the young doctor explained Hiroshi's condition.

"Thank goodness," the bodyguard said, breathing a sigh of relief.

"Thank you so much for your hard work, Doctor," he added, smiling.

"We will move the patient to the VIP ward as per your request," the doctor explained before leaving the operating room.

"Thank you."

The medical staff took Hiroshi's unconscious body to a room on the fourth floor. The short-haired man anxiously awaited outside the operating room and followed the medical staff to the ward. He felt both grateful and relieved that his boss was still alive despite the serious injuries.

The man had never expected Renji to dare launch an attack during a significant group meeting. Moreover, the security at the time was extremely tight. Yet, Renji and his men easily breached it without any significant resistance.

It had to be admitted that Renji was an exceptionally formidable person. However, no matter what, Renji's actions had to be repaid tenfold.

"Rest assured, Mr. Hiroshi. I will avenge what they've done and find your grandson," the man said, looking meaningfully at Hiroshi, who lay weakly on the hospital bed with his left eye bandaged after losing it to Tetsuya's brutal act.

It didn't take long after Hiroshi was admitted to the hospital for news of the attack on him and the chaos caused by the two black-haired young men from the Ishikawa clan to spread like wildfire. This became major, sensational news in the underworld, as it had ignited the flames of war between factions.

The news eventually reached Kaito Ishikawa, the current head of the Ishikawa family. Kaito was furious and deeply disappointed with the actions of his two grandsons, especially Renji, for making such a reckless decision without considering the consequences. This would significantly impact the Ishikawa clan and the family business that Kaito had painstakingly built over decades.

The two men of different ages locked eyes, exchanging cold, piercing gazes. Neither was willing to back down or show weakness.

A faint smile graced the handsome man's face. "Your courage is indeed commendable. Even when cornered, you still dare to look at me like that, Raiden," he said coldly, his tone laced with mockery.

The man called Raiden smirked sarcastically, showing no fear whatsoever. "Did you expect me to tremble in fear before you, Renji?" he retorted defiantly.

"That's how it should be. But I'd rather slice your neck with my sword," Renji hissed coldly, drawing his katana from its sheath. The long, sharp blade in Renji's hand had been bathed in the blood of countless people he had mercilessly killed.

Raiden's arrogant and haughty demeanor crumbled instantly. His face turned pale with fear, and cold sweat poured down his forehead. Raiden's body reacted more honestly than his mouth, which had been spouting sarcastic remarks at Renji.

It wasn't without reason that Raiden reacted this way. Having worked under Renji's leadership for years, he knew all too well how ruthless Renji could be when eliminating his targets.

Now, Renji stood towering before Raiden, katana in hand. The sword tip was deliberately placed right under Raiden's chin, which was already drenched in cold sweat. Renji only needed to thrust it into Raiden's throat, and the god of death would come to take him to hell.

Renji's gaze was sharp and piercing, and the aura of murder around him was so palpable that even some of his men felt a hint of fear. Renji's presence was terrifying, exactly like when he was carrying out his duties as a cold-blooded killer who knew no mercy.

"Killing you outright wouldn't be satisfying. I want you to die slowly," Renji said with a cruel grin on his handsome face.

It was an expression so frightening that he had never once shown it to Aira, his beloved wife. Renji's hands began to work, creating a macabre masterpiece on Raiden's face using his sword.

A deliberate, artistic slash was made on Raiden's left cheek, and thick red liquid slowly seeped out, dripping and staining Raiden's shirt. But Renji didn't stop at one slash. His hands moved to other parts of Raiden's body, leaving more cuts.

Raiden's lips were tightly sealed, not letting out a single groan of pain, even as his body was sliced open by the sword. It showed just how strong he was in enduring the pain coursing through his body.

"What if I gouge out his eyes and cut out his tongue? What do you think, Tetsuya?" Renji asked, seeking advice from his cousin.

"Don't. He'll die too quickly," Tetsuya replied without looking up from his phone.

"But I want to kill him," Renji exclaimed.

"Let him suffer first, then finish him off," Tetsuya suggested.

"Good idea."

It wouldn't be Renji if he didn't have a way to make Raiden suffer even more, avenging all the pain Raiden had caused Aira. One of Renji's men came forward and poured a bucket full of water over Raiden's body. But it wasn't ordinary water—it was lemon juice mixed with salt.

"Aaaarrrrghhh!!!!" Raiden groaned in agony. His body writhed in pain, the unbearable sting spreading across his entire being.

"Doesn't it feel wonderful, Raiden?" Renji sneered cruelly, enjoying the spectacle before him without a hint of pity.

Raiden lay limp and helpless, his body covered in sword wounds. Now satisfied with his cruel game, Renji was ready to end Raiden's life. Without hesitation, Renji swung his sword toward Raiden's left chest.

Fresh blood dripped onto the floor where Renji stood, but it wasn't Raiden's blood—it was Tetsuya's. The pale-skinned young man had suddenly intervened, stopping Renji's attack with his bare hands, despite having been sitting casually on the sofa just moments ago, engrossed in his phone.

Something had changed in Tetsuya's demeanor after he read a message on his phone.

"Tetsuya!!!" Renji growled in frustration as his attack was blocked, failing to reach Raiden.

Tetsuya's hand still gripped Renji's sword tightly, even though his palm was deeply cut and blood was dripping profusely. Yet, Tetsuya showed no fear or hesitation in letting go.

This was surprising, as Tetsuya was a painter, and his hands—his most valuable tools as an artist—were worth more than anything. The wound on his palm would take a long time to heal.

"Move aside, Tetsuya! Don't stop me from killing him!" Renji shouted furiously, his hatred and grudge against Raiden burning fiercely, especially after Raiden had betrayed his trust in the past.

"Instead of killing him, we should use him to destroy that old man and Hiroshi," Tetsuya suggested.

"Don't bring up that old man at a time like this!"

"Two years ago, Raiden betrayed you because he was ordered by the old man, who was already working with Hiroshi," Tetsuya revealed.

"What are you talking about?" Renji was stunned, shocked by the revelation.

"Grandfather intended to destroy you so that you would return to him. And out of all your subordinates, only Raiden was tempted by the money and power offered by your grandfather," Tetsuya revealed the grandfather's little secret.

Renji's jaw tightened. "Your words make me want to kill him even more, Tetsuya."

The situation was getting worse, and at this point, Tetsuya had no choice but to take violent action to stop Renji, whose actions were completely unstoppable.

"Yamato!" Tetsuya shouted, calling his trusted man.

The brown-haired man immediately rushed at Renji, and within seconds, Renji's body fell unconscious after a blow to the back of his neck.

This time, Raiden's life was saved thanks to Tetsuya, but this wasn't done without reason, as Tetsuya thought he could use Raiden to destroy Grandfather.

Moreover, if Raiden died at Renji's hands and Aira found out about it, she would very likely hate Renji and even leave him for causing her great disappointment.

There was no need for Renji to get his hands dirty with blood; he only needed to sit quietly, waiting and watching the results of his work without getting involved.

"Fujita, Shiro, take Renji out of here," Tetsuya ordered his two trusted men accompanying Renji.

"If the young master wakes up, what should we explain?" Fujita asked anxiously.

"Just say that I handled everything until it's done. Tell him tomorrow there's a schedule to take Aira to her pregnancy exercise class."

"Will that work?"

"Aira is Renji's top priority in life. So, don't worry too much."

"Then we understand, and you should quickly treat your hand injury."

Tetsuya casually glanced at the wound on his palm. "It's not a serious injury. Don't worry."

Per Tetsuya's orders, Shiro and Fujita took Renji's body away while Tetsuya dealt with Raiden's situation until it was finished.

In this room, there were only Raiden, Tetsuya, and Yamato, while the other subordinates waited outside. Raiden looked sadly at Tetsuya, who cast a cold gaze. "Why did you let me live?"

"I did it all because of Aira, nothing more."

Raiden smiled bitterly. "So that woman, that slut, is so important to you all."

Tetsuya's gaze grew colder. "If you dare insult her again, I will ensure you can never speak again." Tetsuya threatened seriously.

"Just kill me, isn't that easy for you?" Raiden challenged, not the least bit afraid of Tetsuya's threat.

Fresh blood kept dripping from the wound on Tetsuya's palm, staining the floor. Still, no groaning or a change in Tetsuya's expression was evident, as if the pain didn't bother him.

Raiden's cheek was gripped tightly. "It is, but it's even easier to erase that sweet girl with long brown hair, especially if I cut her into pieces and hang her in my art gallery. It would be so much fun," Tetsuya chuckled.

Raiden's moon-like eyes widened in fury. "If you dare touch her, I will kill you."

Laughter echoed throughout the room, coming from Tetsuya, who found Raiden's reaction amusing and unaware. But just a few seconds later, Tetsuya's gaze turned cold.

"I'll give you one last chance—work for me as a spy, or would you rather see Hinami lie lifeless, her body dismembered?" Tetsuya said, his tone full of threat and intimidation.

"You're a bastard, Tetsuya!" Raiden yelled in anger.

"More like cruel," Tetsuya corrected proudly.

"So, what's your choice?" Tetsuya asked, urging Raiden to make a decision.

Raiden's face drooped, and he gazed at the floor with a distant look. "Fine. I will become your spy," he answered resignedly, unable to do anything to refuse for the sake of Hinami, the only family he had left.

Tetsuya smiled brightly. "Good choice. But remember one thing: if you dare betray me, don't blame me if my carving knife sinks deep into that sweet girl's heart." Tetsuya said with a threatening tone.

Raiden's body tensed, fear filling his eyes as he looked at Tetsuya in disbelief. He never expected Tetsuya, whom he once considered a good man with a gentle heart, to be even more ruthless than Renji.

Tetsuya's figure may seem gentle on the outside, friendly, and always kind to everyone. However, that was the point of his danger because no one would ever suspect that Tetsuya could kill someone while smiling without ever feeling guilty. Kaito had eliminated any sense of pity in Tetsuya's heart, teaching him from a young age that killing a person was just like killing ants or other animals. There was no need to feel scared or guilty.

Tetsuya glanced at the short brown-haired man in a black shirt not far from where he stood. "Yamato, please have someone take Raiden to the hospital before he bleeds to death," Tetsuya ordered Yamato.

"Yes, Young Master," Yamato replied obediently.

With the help of two muscular men, Raiden was taken to the hospital for treatment. At the same time, Tetsuya's wound was only wrapped with a bandage after being treated. Fortunately, the wound on his palm wasn't severe enough to need stitches, which would have taken a long time to heal.

After all the long events of that night, Tetsuya felt exhausted, and the overwhelming urge to sleep hit him as he wanted to rest his body.

That night, Tetsuya had no choice but to stay in the hospital since it was already late and no hotels or inns were nearby. Plus, it would be easier for him to keep an eye on Raiden.

Tetsuya casually lay on the hospital bed, with Yamato sitting on the long sofa. Only a few minutes after closing his eyes, Tetsuya felt something strange in his body. His left chest suddenly hurt as if it was being tightly gripped, making it hard for him to breathe.

"My medicine, Yamato," Tetsuya's hand reached out.

In a panic, Yamato quickly searched for the small bottle of Tetsuya's heart medicine in his pocket. Still, unfortunately, the medicine he always carried with him seemed to have fallen when he attacked Hiroshi at the hotel.

"Cough..." Fresh blood came out of Tetsuya's mouth. Yamato became even more frantic and, without thinking, immediately ran out to find a doctor.

This time, Tetsuya was in intense pain, his cold sweat pouring down his forehead, his right hand clutching his left chest as he felt an unbearable pain. Tetsuya could no longer bear it and gave up, feeling that the god of death had come to take him.

He still wanted to do many things before passing to the afterlife, like seeing Renji's child being born and attending Pony's wedding to Issei-chan.

Tetsuya smiled bitterly, looking at the figure beside him. "Damn," Tetsuya thought to himself.
