My Wife is a Dead Villainess, and I'm Her Living Weapon-Chapter 161: Task
Chapter 161: Task
Elian pulled Bianca along as he approached.
"Everyone, Bianca and I will be moving to the next dungeon. We came here to say goodbye. Anything I should know?"
Those present looked at each other and shook their heads.
The first one to go was Katri, "Guild-wise, the Weapons Guild is growing steadily; Charlotte’s manpower has been invaluable. The resources the Weapons deposited in our treasuries will work for now."
Katri then pulled out a bunch of Whiteline documents and spread them in front of Elian.
"The problem is these people. The Crow Hunters. For now, they agreed with IOU notes, but heaven knows how long that will work," she explained with a frown, "and the people who came are the dastardly sort. Will we really take them in?"
"That shouldn’t be a issue, have Fluffy make their requests. If they become a problem, we’ll solve it one move," Elian turned to Bastion and asked respectfully.
"Father-in-law, do you all have the ability to use Enslave?"
He nodded with a grunt, "We do; Silent has been using it a step further. She understands what it is for."
"Good. I give you free rein. Apart from our people. Feel free to pacify anyone who becomes an issue."
"Okay..."
"Uhm... I am sorry, I do not follow. What does Enslave do exactly?" Katri asked, with her hand raised.
"It’s one of my abilities," Elian said, eyes cold. "Anyone bonded to my metals... I can lobotomize."
At his reveal, Charlotte and Katri’s faces warped. Both clenched their hands and bit their lips. But they could hardly rebuke the one before them. The only one who did was the red-haired beauty with them.
"My, my, so bow or die. A power worthy of a Tyrant. I kind of expected it to a degree, but is this truly how you wish to rule, Elian?" Sunny scoffed.
But rather than take offense, Elian answered as he tightened his grip on Bianca’s hand.
"I never intended to rule over them, Aunt-in-law. They may live on my planet. But should they endanger my people, I will take them out."
"How is that any different from playing with their fates, little Tyrant? Do you fancy yourself a god?"
Elian shook his head. "No, I am not. I just believe that humans are bastards at their core. If they wish to borrow my power, this is my price. If they live under my protection, they live under my rules."
Sunny traced her finger along her cheek as she pursed her lips, "Hmm. A bit heavy-handed but it would do for now. Just remember that once you begin using it on your own people, that will be the point of no return."
A heavy silence was left lingering in the air. The fact that Elian could practically turn anyone who dons his equipment cognitively severed was quite heavy. But it did resolve the fundamental problem. Loyalty and betrayal.
Bianca cleared her throat and sent some surveillance video to the nanomachines of everyone present.
"Then, I will go next. Over 10% of the cities in the world are in open revolt. The Big Three are responding with deadly force. A record number of people are migrating to Crestfall."
The videos quickly flipped through demonstrations, executions, and the violent suppression of dissidents. But Bianca did not linger and continued.
"For now, most people are just afraid. While Elian’s words were correct, most of the world is still waiting to see what happens next. Until more cities fall in the same manner, people will not suddenly just leave the Big Three overnight."
"Have any of the Breakers moved to close the dungeons?" Elian inquired.
Bianca shook her head, "No, the majority of them are being used to quell rebellion. The Dungeon’s the other Guilds’ own have been placed on lockdown. They have still yet to give a statement about matters regarding the crucible."
Charlotte raised her hand and went next, "As for our end, there have been many companies, black market groups, and foreign embassies reaching out. They are asking for deals in exchange for betraying their former organizations."
When Elian heard her words, he couldn’t help but stomp his foot in anger. These people had no loyalty and were prepared to betray, but they would only move for profit; they were the worst kind of scum.
I would probably just kill them all. I really cannot serve as the King.
"Don’t worry, Charlotte is extremely good at dealing with them. I suggest just leaving it with her. She is not straight-laced but has lines she doesn’t cross," Bianca reassured telepathically.
Seeing his lover trying to reassure him, Elian smiled. He took her hand, brought it to his lips, and kissed it.
"Very well. Then we will do it as you say."
"Uhm, you guys just spoke with mana, right? We can’t hear those, you know," Charlotte complained with irritation.
Elian looked at Charlotte and Katri, then made a slight bow. "Right, I apologize. I will leave dealing with them to you both. Just now, my first thought was to murder them all. Bianca just told me to leave it to you. Do as you will; I leave everything in your hands."
"Huh? You are leaving everything to us, Elian? Isn’t that too much?" Katri argued in disbelief. "What if we use them to create our own faction, then betray you?"
"Then, I will abandon this city and start over in another," he replied in a cold voice.
At his inhuman logic, only one began to laugh out loud with glee. Sunny pulled out an elegant-looking fan and smacked a nearby table with it.
"Hahaha! Amusing, you truly see them as nothing, don’t you? Like a child who made a sandcastle on a beach. How curious, you lack the greed that drives most Tyrants. Is there anything that would make you move, little Tyrant?"
Elian looked at the woman by his side and grunted, "Her."
Sunny’s face flushed and grew giddy. She looked like one of those old aunts who did nothing but watch soap operas.
"Oh my. Such pampering; take care not to become addicted to such affection, Bianca. To have a Tyrant of all things put you on a pedestal can be both a blessing and a curse."
"I am aware, Aunt Sunny," Bianca smiled, "I used to wonder why I was borne. Not I know why."
"Curious. And what might that reason be?"
Bianca paused before looking at everyone present, "I was born to Anchor this man. Without me, he would not even consider saving humanity. My purpose is to become the glue that binds him to the rest of you."
Sunny nodded as she teased, "I can see that, but know that it also works both ways. Should you fail, that man will definitely destroy this world out of spite. Are you prepared?"
"Yes," Bianca answered confidently, "I won’t fail. We will fight. And we will win."
The Tyrant of Averignis began to fan herself as her face grew flushed, "Ah youth! Such passion! How wonderful! My loins grow hot at such a display... Flare, my half. Shall we go and burn with the same passion?"
Yet her husband, a redheaded man in a butler costume, simply stood behind her and handed her a drink. "Sunny, you still have work to do. We will do so later."
"Sigh, such a shame. By then, the passion would have dulled," the woman complained in low spirits.
Elian couldn’t help but chuckle. He wanted to talk with Sunny and Flare more but couldn’t spare the time. He turned to Charlotte and asked something no one expected.
"What happened to the cities where the Knight cores were taken?"
"Anarchy. Those cities were already on the brink of collapse as the Big Three deserted them. The few who remained couldn’t manage the chaos that followed after your stream."
"I see," next Elian turned to Bastion. "How are the Virexar Weapons? Have any of them shown initiative?"
"They are mostly blank slates. They only follow orders. Hardly any of them can hold a conversation."
"Can all of them be instructed to turn into humans like you and mother-in-law?"
"Yes. They can. A lot of them even have a preference. If given the chance, they either change forms to resemble Snow Wolves or you. That wall armor form of yours."
"Perfect. That will work."
Despite Elian’s positive response, no one actually knew what he was thinking. Well, except for the ghost beside him.
"Katri, Charlotte, I have a task for you two."
Both bowed their heads and answered, "Yes, my Tyrant."
"I want you to take some Weapons, and all the supplies you would need. Save those four cities and bring them under our command. I will leave how to you."
"Wait! We haven’t even stabilized Crestfall! And you want to take more cities?"
"Elian, commanding a guild is one thing, but taking over a city is another!"
"Yes. Use money, and anything at our disposal to make it happen. By the time I return, I want the four cities to be under our control. You may use the Weapons as you will. Father-in-law, for specifics, I leave the details to you."
"Got it."
"Ho? That sounds like fun! My sons and daughters have always wanted to try their hand at city planning. Might you allow us to help little Tyrant?"
"That would help a lot, Aunt Sunny. Do they need someone to teach them?" Bianca asked in glee.
"Hardly. I have seen your cities. It’s not really that complicated. Not for us at least. What say you, little Tyrant? Will you give my children a chance?"
"Sure, I don’t mind."
"Wait! Are you insane?"
However, against Charlotte’s rebuke, Elian smiled, "I might. But the Flame Phoenixes are incredibly smart and lack ambition. They would make excellent mayors. Do you think you can do it?"
"This is... This is just too crazy!" Katri exclaimed as she slumped into a chair.
Charlotte bit her tongue. In any other world, she’d call this madness. But under the gaze of this man—this Tyrant—she could only nod.
"We’ll do our best."
