My Vampire Wives Want My Blood!-Chapter 44- Blood On My Hands (Part 3)
Chapter 44- Blood On My Hands (Part 3)
The moment the fangs sank into his skin, Elio felt a sharp pain, like a knife stabbing his throat without mercy. His eyes shot open as he screeched in pain.
’It hurts!’ He cursed as he quickly tried to push the monster away. He was panicking, his fear of death looming over his head. The monster was just so much stronger than him, and fighting him head-on was a very bad idea.
He hadn’t thought far enough when he barged into the classroom to save that innocent person, and now he was facing the consequences of his actions.
As he was about to try and push the monster again or hit it with anything he could get his hands on, suddenly, the creature froze in its place. All its efforts to pin him down suddenly stopped, and Elio found himself able to move easily.
’Huh?’ With a confused look, he quickly kicked the monster off of him as he jumped to his feet. Staring at it, the creature looked like it was in a trance as Elio’s blood dripped out of its mouth. The injury on his neck kept bleeding as he grabbed the chair and smashed the monster’s head with it. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"AGH!" The vampire growled at the hit, but Elio didn’t stop as he quickly hit it again. Each hit was filled with all his vigour. He couldn’t afford to waste a single shred of power in each hit.
’Just die!’ His eyes turned crazed for a second as he hit again, and again, and again. The chair broke, and he didn’t stop. Blood splurted out of the vampire’s head as its resistance waned with each hit.
The red liquid splattered everywhere on Elio’s body. He felt like the entire world wasn’t real anymore. He felt like he was completely detached from reality with each hit.
The monster’s head was slowly getting carved in as it stopped moving. But Elio didn’t stop hitting it; he was terrified to stop since it could move again and kill him. For several minutes, he slammed the chair down without mercy. Not that he didn’t have it, but because that was not even Elio at that moment.
By the time he felt exhausted, the chair dropped from his hands as he fell back, breathing heavily through his nose. He looked left and right, his face covered in blood, and so were his clothes.
"Hah... Hah... Hah... Hah..." His heart raced so fast that he felt nauseous. Grabbing his chest, he tightened his grip around his shirt. Gulping down a mouthful of saliva, he stared at the huge bloody scene he had left behind. The monster lay there, its head carved with its brain matter splattered everywhere, and a huge pool of blood around it.
The smell of blood filled his nose and made him feel like puking.
"What... did I do?" He muttered as he stared at the blood. "I... killed it?"
He asked himself, almost in disbelief. Elio had completely lost consciousness for a good few minutes there, and when he woke up, he was staring at a dead corpse. He had killed the vampire... He had killed something for the very first time in his life.
That mere thought alone made him feel so many different things all at the same time. Disgust, fear, shock and a very subtle feeling he couldn’t believe... Satisfaction. He felt satisfied with himself.
He looked down at his own hands, the hands that had blood on them. His eyes were wide open, not blinking. Then, slowly, a small smile appeared on his face. A smile that Elio from a few days ago would be terrified to look at.
Yet, for better or worse, the current him found it completely normal. He just felt satisfied.
’Yes... satisfaction. I have actually... did it.’ He muttered. ’I have killed a vampire.’
This was perhaps the biggest challenge Elio feared in the future. Killing. He had never killed before, obviously, and the idea of it filled him with dread. He wanted to avoid thinking about it till the time comes, but he never expected that to be so soon and in such an abrupt and shocking manner.
"Haha... Hahaha.... Hahahaha!"
*SLIDE*
"Elio!"
At that moment, the door slid open as he heard a beautiful voice calling for him. Elio stopped laughing, looked up and saw Fiona there, staring at him with a shocked expression on her face.
The two stared at each other in silence for a few seconds, almost as if they were conversing through their eyes. She saw the blood, she saw the dead corpse, and the miserable state Elio was in.
After taking a moment to understand everything, she rushed toward Elio. "Are you ok? Did you get hurt? Are you injured anywhere?"
"... I’m fine..." Elio replied with a calm tone. However, Fiona still started inspecting his body with a worried look. Her eyes traced every inch of his body. Eventually, she saw the two holes in his neck that were oozing blood.
"You got bit...?" She asked.
"Ah, it’s nothing. Haha, I couldn’t stop it." He said with an awkward laugh.
Fiona stared at the injury for a second before she put her hand on his neck. The boy flinched at the sudden touch.
"Don’t move."
"..."
Then, Fiona closed her eyes. A second later, Elio felt a warm sensation on his neck. It was very pleasant, like a nice warm wet cloth. Then, Fiona pulled her hand away.
"It should be fine now." She said.
Elio instinctively touched his neck and realised that the pain was all gone. "Thank you. That really helps."
"Don’t worry about it. When you called me, and I heard the noise through the phone... I came as fast as I could."
"Haha, yeah, I thought I should call you before I try to lure it out."
"Wait, what?" Fiona frowned. "You willingly lured it toward you?"
"Y-Yeah..."
"Why?"
"Because if I didn’t, the person it was attacking would’ve died. I didn’t have any time to think, so I tried to make it run after me. It was brutal haha..."
"That was very reckless, Elio," Fiona said with a reprimanding tone. "You could’ve died."
"I know..."
"Even though your talent makes you cut so far and beyond everyone else, that doesn’t mean you could face a vampire head-on yet."
’Somehow, he was still able to manoeuvre that gap in power between them and kill it... Did he use that chair to break its head? How was he able to do that without any resistance?’
Even when she checked his body, he didn’t suffer any major injuries aside from the bite. Something didn’t seem right about it.
"I couldn’t stop myself from saving that person. I know it was reckless and wrong. But I couldn’t just ignore it. Their cries for help made me stop thinking and start acting." He said as he looked down. "I’m really sorry."
It didn’t matter what his reason was; putting his life on the line so recklessly is never a good idea. He was ready for this scolding from Fiona when he decided to do it.
However, surprisingly, the girl’s anger seemingly vanished quickly.
"Hm... As bad as it is. The fact that you decided to save that person without thinking twice is very admirable. You have a good heart, Elio."
