My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!-Chapter 500: Might as Well Not Have Saved
"Even you are helping him?" Titus Quinn glared angrily at Mrs. Quinn with his eyes full of gloom. "Am I always inferior to her in your eyes?"
"Titus, no, it’s not like that."
Seeing the fire getting more intense, Mrs. Quinn shouted angrily, "Let me explain. It was me; years ago, the target in the underworld was me. I married your father and used underhanded means to kill the daughter of the then-underworld leader. Initially, they didn’t know, but later, for some unknown reason, they discovered that it was related to me, and wanted me dead as revenge,
Their aim was to retaliate against me. It’s my cowardice and fearfulness. These matters had nothing to do with your brother," Mrs. Quinn clawed the ground with heart-wrenching anguish, "Their deaths were all because of me. If you want revenge, come at me."
Titus Quinn’s expression turned grim and incredulous.
"Even if your brother was the one who died back then, they wouldn’t have spared Eason and you. It was your brother’s decision; he didn’t die so he could save you."
Seeing Titus Quinn engulfed in agony, this was the moment he could choose mutual destruction with Jared Quinn...
"Titus Quinn, you deserve to die!" Sheryl Lancaster suddenly charged out, rushed into the fire, and clung tightly to Titus Quinn’s leg. She didn’t want to be left disabled after being used by Titus Quinn, so she decided to die with him.
A car burst straight in from outside. When Melody Thorne tried to dodge, it was too late; even Leon Rivers was only focused on the fire ahead. By the time he realized what was happening around him, Melody Thorne was already completely taken away. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Jared Quinn, although standing in the fire like Titus Quinn, kept his eyes fixed on Melody Thorne’s direction, fearing something might suddenly happen to her.
As the car dashed out in the same manner, Jared Quinn broke out of the flames, swiftly discarding his burning blazer, grabbed the car door, and agilely entered the vehicle.
Melody Thorne was still in shock, enveloped in the solid warmth of strong arms.
Looking up, Melody Thorne met a pair of eyes that made her feel at ease.
The man in front glimpsed the man in the backseat through the rearview mirror.
"Caleb, where are you taking us?" Melody Thorne regained her senses and realized the man in front was Caleb.
"I’m saving you, fearing you might die under mysterious circumstances, leaving a chilling feeling," Caleb casually replied, withdrawing his gaze.
His responsibility was solely to save Melody Thorne; other people had nothing to do with him.
"Being with me, she won’t die," Jared Quinn’s dark eyes blazed with fury, handing the gun over Caleb’s head, the potential for an accidental firing ever-present.
"Being with you is what will get her killed," Caleb stated fearlessly, undeterred by Jared Quinn’s gun.
"Enough, you two!" Melody Thorne interjected, breaking off the conversation and pulling back Jared Quinn’s gesture to fire.
"Screech—" The car tires screeched across the ground, coming to a complete stop. Caleb pushed open the door, discovering the tires had blown out, surrounded by desolation.
"Ha, your rescue method is really wonderful," Melody Thorne sneered coldly, stepping out of the car without hesitation, "It would have been better if you hadn’t saved me at all."
Jared Quinn’s large hand reached from her side, taking out his phone to call Harold Chapman for a pickup.
"Are you hurt?" Melody Thorne examined Jared Quinn from head to toe, breathing a sigh of relief upon discovering no injuries on him.
"I’m fine," Jared Quinn’s arm pinned her securely within his tall frame, shielding her from the cold wind, allowing her to simply enjoy the warmth.
