My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!-Chapter 221: Want Me to Carry You?
In the quiet room, the sound of mingled breaths and racing hearts could be heard.
"Have you kissed enough?" Melody Thorne couldn’t hold back any longer.
"Melody Thorne, your patience really is lacking," Jared Quinn said, gripping her restless wrist, "I haven’t even mentioned my terms yet, why are you in a hurry?" 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Melody Thorne, "...Just say it already."
Stop with the endless kissing.
"Look at me." Jared Quinn’s deep eyes were serious. "Before I tell you their location, you have to get along with me properly, until I’m satisfied, do you hear me?"
Melody Thorne, "...Aren’t we getting along just fine now?"
"You think this is fine?"
Melody Thorne changed the topic, "I have a cold and bad temper, and I’m prone to violence, I think someone gentle and sweet suits you better."
Jared Quinn felt like strangling her, "Then the deal’s off."
"No," Melody Thorne interrupted, "The deal’s on."
Jared Quinn stood up, tidying his slightly disheveled clothes, and pulled her up from the bed with one arm, "Let’s eat."
"Oh." Melody Thorne stood there without moving.
"Waiting for me to carry you?"
"You go first, I’m afraid of being photographed. It’s fine if I’m in the news, but I don’t want to drag you into it."
Jared Quinn withdrew his gaze expressionlessly, opened the door, and walked out.
The car drove for a whole hour before stopping.
Jared Quinn extended his hand, and though Melody Thorne was averse to any physical contact with him, especially when sober, she thought of their deal and placed her hand into his palm.
The large palm wrapped around her hand, its warmth easily making one lose themselves.
This place was far from their filming location, so she wasn’t worried about being seen.
Jared Quinn chose a restaurant and handed her the menu, "What do you want to eat?"
Things were different now, so Melody Thorne ordered all her favorite dishes, especially making sure to include dessert.
"Desserts are off the table," Jared Quinn said, looking disdainfully at the desserts she ordered.
How could someone who’s just recovered from a fever eat desserts?
Melody Thorne looked up, "Didn’t you say I could choose what I like to eat? What’s going on now? Regretting it so quickly."
Jared Quinn was a bit frustrated, but his usual domineering attitude prevented him from explaining. He took the menu from her hand and crossed off the desserts, adding a few light dishes, while also crossing off some spicy dishes she ordered.
Watching his actions, all the expressions disappeared from Melody Thorne’s small face; it was clear they weren’t suited to be together, as he disliked everything she enjoyed eating.
"Please enjoy your meal," said the waiter as the dishes were served.
"These aren’t what I like, I’m not eating," Melody Thorne turned her head toward the window in defiance.
Jared Quinn glanced at her, "Have you forgotten what you promised me?"
Melody Thorne mechanically turned her head back, staring at him silently, thinking this wasn’t so much a deal as it was a threat.
The atmosphere while eating was somewhat gloomy,
Jared Quinn picked up some food and brought it to her lips, "Eat up."
Melody Thorne opened her mouth and ate it, sitting there swinging her legs, waiting to be fed; as long as he wanted her to eat, she’d eat.
Jared Quinn barely ate a bite himself, focusing instead on feeding her from a variety of dishes in turn.
Melody Thorne did it on purpose, deliberately making him have no time to eat, wanting him to eat what was left after she was done, so even after she was full, she kept eating until most of the plates were empty.
Seeing how obedient and well-behaved she was, Jared Quinn rarely smiled.
Melody Thorne felt a strange sensation, quickly turning away from his chopsticks, "I’m full."
