Chapter 184: Chapter 184: He Is Saving Her

Melody Thorne turned back to glance at Ivy and up at the bridge.

The man lifted Timmy high, making a motion as if he was going to throw Timmy off the bridge.

"Splash"

Melody Thorne closed her eyes and jumped down, feeling just like she did in her previous life—cold, and easily overcome with despair...

The icy sea enveloped her once more.

"Melody Thorne"

She heard a roar in her ear, a sound carrying immense anger, as if it wished to turn the entire world upside down.

"Splash"—another sound of someone hitting the water.

Melody Thorne kept her eyes open, daring not to close them, afraid that closing her eyes would mean disappearing again, unable to see Timmy ever again.

So, she clearly saw Jared Quinn enter the water, his entire body exuding an undeniable aura of hostility, and his sculpted, handsome features were filled with killing intent.

Moreover, there was an unusual flicker and panic within his usually composed, deep eyes.

Jared Quinn reached out and grabbed her arm, looking at her as she sank into the sea with her eyes open. It was as if his heart was pierced by countless icy swords, blood and flesh torn apart, extracting the essential life force within him, causing his entire body to convulse.

Only when he pulled her into his embrace did that sense of being torn away return to its place.

Jared Quinn attempted to swim upwards with her, but found himself unable to move; he looked down and saw that Melody Thorne’s feet were entangled in seaweed.

Without hesitation, he dove down.

Melody Thorne floated motionlessly, feeling the suffocation, aware that Jared Quinn couldn’t hold out much longer at the sea’s bottom.

But...

He was saving her.

This, then, is what it feels like to be desperately saved by someone!

It took Jared Quinn ten seconds to untangle one of her feet before working on the other.

Melody Thorne’s fingers moved slightly, she was starting to lose strength. She grasped Jared Quinn’s shoulder as if to push him away, clearly indicating that he should leave and not save her.

Jared Quinn looked at her lifeless expression, feeling both angry and amused. He swam up and pressed his lips to her, giving her breath, adamant that "even if I die, I won’t let you die!"

Even in death, she belonged to him, Jared Quinn.

Melody Thorne’s eyes widened at the realization, he said that even if he were to die, he wouldn’t let her die.

No indifference like in her previous life, no heartlessness...

He was saving her.

Jared Quinn gave her breath and wanted her to hold on a bit longer while he went down again to untangle the seaweed from her other ankle.

At this point, Melody Thorne moved slightly, her hand waving to cut through the seaweed with the knife she held. She shook her leg and swam upward.

That stubborn little silhouette and proud little figure were nothing like someone waiting to die!

Jared Quinn was nearly exploding with rage from both his lungs and stomach; this woman clearly had a knife in her hand yet let him struggle for so long below!!!

"Huff—" Melody Thorne emerged from the sea, but she had jumped from a high point and couldn’t climb up; she was exhausted.

"Sis, Sis!" Timothy Lockwood approached in a yacht.

With a tight grip on her waist, Jared Quinn lifted her onto the yacht.

"Where’s Timmy?" Melody Thorne gasped, her mouth releasing a small device.

It was a temporary breathing apparatus ensuring she wouldn’t die from lack of oxygen for a brief period.

"Sis, don’t worry, Timmy’s fine. That vicious woman has already been captured by me," Timothy Lockwood vowed with a face full of resentment.
