Chapter 86: To step on the wrong person’s toes

«Now I’ll carve my name into your skin, so you’ll remember what it means to disrespect me!»

Tony lunges at Chantal, ready to slash her with the box cutter...

But suddenly, he loses his balance.

He falls forward, face-first at Chantal’s feet.

A mix of surprise and joy instantly lights up the girls’ faces—even Lucrezia recognizes him.

Rika and Yuzu must’ve shown her at least a hundred photos and talked about him every day.

At this point, she knows him almost as well as his own stepsisters.

None of them expected to see him—when Hakuto told Kagura he’d be staying in Rome for a few days, she thought it’d be a great idea to surprise the girls and told him where they’d be that afternoon.

But Hakuto didn’t expect to find them in the middle of a fight.

He stomped Tony in the back and now stands in the center of the group, glaring down at him in disgust.

«Where the fuck did this guy come from?!» one of the boys shouts—Hakuto hadn’t been there a second ago.

But Hakuto completely ignores him—his focus is locked on Tony.

«Didn’t anyone ever teach you it’s cowardly to go after girls?» Hakuto asks, his voice unusually cold and threatening.

Then, slowly, he walks out of the group—passing by them like they don’t even exist—heading toward Lucrezia.

For some reason they can’t explain, none of the boys moves a muscle to stop him.

They seem almost scared, intimidated by his sharp gaze, firm posture, and solid build.

Even the girls notice it.

Not that Hakuto was ever scrawny—he’s always been fit. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

But three months of training with HESPARC U.S. made him bulkier and more defined.

That overall look—combined with his slightly above-average height for a seventeen-year-old—was enough to keep the boys from picking a fight.

«Are you okay? Did they hurt you?» Hakuto asks gently, his eyes locked on Lucrezia’s with concern.

«Y-Yeah, I’m fine, thank you...» Lucrezia stammers, her face red as a tomato under his gaze.

~So... this is the famous Hakuto Tendo? Oh my god, he’s... he’s even hotter than in the photos! And Rika and Yuzu live under the same roof as him?! Damn, they’re the luckiest girls alive!~

Lucrezia is completely overwhelmed, totally enchanted by Hakuto’s charm.

«Hey, we’re fine too, you know. Thanks for asking!» Yuzu grumbles, waving her arm to get his attention.

He smiles at her.

«I know you’re fine—it’d be weird otherwise. But let’s save the greetings for later,» he replies simply.

Then, his gaze shifts back to Tony—now back on his feet, even angrier than before.

He’s holding the box cutter again, not even trying to hide it from the crowd.

He charges again—this time aiming straight for Hakuto’s face.

«W-What the hell...» Tony mutters, stunned, as Hakuto’s fingers close lightning-fast around his wrist, stopping the blade mid-air.

Then Hakuto tightens his grip—just enough to make Tony release the weapon.

The box cutter slips from his fingers, clattering against the cobblestones and then...

—CRACK!

Hakuto’s foot slams down on it—shattering the blade completely.

«I’ll ask nicely just once—leave,» Hakuto growls, his voice sharp.

A deep voice, warm yet so masculine and protective that none of the girls can stay indifferent.

Even Chantal melts a little at this side of him.

Not that Hakuto hasn’t been protective before—but this time it’s different, and Chantal feels it more than anyone else.

It’s the kind of presence that comes from confidence—something Hakuto never had before. Until now.

Tony growls out a string of insults—he yanks his arm free from Hakuto’s grip.

Just like his friends, he feels an odd fear toward this guy.

But he can’t let himself look weak—not in front of them, not in front of the crowd watching from a distance.

If word got out that Tony Caspada and his gang ran from a single boy, his reputation would be ruined.

«What the hell are you waiting for?! Beat the crap out of him!» Tony barks, turning to his friends.

Tony’s five goons exchange quick glances, as if trying to hype each other up.

Like—come on, he’s just an unarmed teenager, and there are six of us. What the hell are we afraid of?

That, plus the irritation in Tony’s voice—something they fear more than the unknown guy—pushes them past their hesitation.

They grip their beer bottles by the necks and rush at Hakuto all at once.

Hakuto rolls his eyes and sighs in resignation.

«Too bad. I warned you...»

And just as the five are about to jump him—Hakuto dashes forward.

He bounces between them like a pinball, hitting each one with precision.

Even while holding back to avoid serious harm, his reflexes are far beyond what any normal human can follow.

Beer bottles, punches, and kicks fly at Hakuto from every direction—but not a single one even grazes him.

It’s like he’s dodging raindrops in a storm.

Before the boys even realize what hit them, they’re already on the ground—some with fractured knees, others with broken legs.

They writhe in pain, piled on top of each other, groaning in agony.

«Someone call the police, quick!» one passerby shouts.

«That guy just broke the legs of a group of well-off kids! Who the hell does he think he is?! I hope they arrest him right now!» another adds.

«Where the hell were you when they were harassing us?!» Chantal snaps, furious at the crowd’s hypocrisy.

«Forget it, Chantal. We’re in Italy...» Hakuto murmurs, signaling her to ignore them and get out of there before things escalate with the police.

He grabs Chantal by the wrist, cutting off her argument with half of Rome, and pulls her along—Rika, Yuzu, and Lucrezia follow right behind.

As they quickly leave, insults and threats rain from the crowd—likely Caspada affiliates or just people trying to suck up to Tony, who keeps screaming at the top of his lungs.

«You have no idea who you messed with! I’m Tony Caspada, heir to the most powerful clan in Italy! Get it through your heads, you bastards—you’re done! I swear it!»
