My Seven Wives in One Body and Me, her Manager-Chapter 123: Back to Apartement and Packing
After handling the contract and making the down payment at Amber’s real estate office—where the poor agent was under so much pressure from Daisy, Diana, Dahlia, Donna, Deborah, Dulcia, and Daphne that she could barely move—they all headed home to their apartment. Once they entered their unit, everyone immediately shed their disguises and returned to their true forms.
"So, when can we move?" Diana asked.
"Next week. For now, we need to pack and sort through our things here," Dennis answered.
"Got it. Let’s do it tomorrow; I’m sleepy," Dulcia said with a yawn.
"Yeah, me too. I want to rest. We’ve been out all day, and I’m just not an outdoorsy creature," Daphne said weakly.
"I’m showering first," Dahlia said, walking straight to the bedroom while pulling off her shirt.
"I’m in... let’s go together," Donna added, cheerfully following Dahlia.
"Hmm... I’m heading to the room too," Deborah added, walking toward the bedroom.
"Okay, I want to rest as well, honey," Daisy added.
"Alright then, I’ll stay out here for a bit," Dennis replied, tossing his car keys onto the kitchen table.
Dennis walked to the living area and sat on his sofa, which had been moved back to its original spot. He grabbed the TV remote from the coffee table and turned it on. The apartment looked normal again, but behind the walls, there were weapon racks and whiteboards; the front bathroom still served as a server room, and the kitchen was split in two, with part of it functioning as Deborah’s laboratory. Their bedroom was nothing but a massive bed that took up almost the entire space, with a small desk in the corner and a wardrobe built into the wall, featuring a bathroom door that still used frosted glass.
As Dennis watched TV, his eyes beginning to grow heavy, "ding," a notification popped up on his smartphone. He leaned forward and reached out to grab the phone from the table. He saw a flood of incoming messages in the senior-junior group chat; he opened it and found a video—apparently recorded by Hyunjin, since he was the sender—posted in the chat history with the caption: Sunday drama. Dennis tapped the video, and it turned out to be footage of what happened at the wedding reception after he had left.
In the video, Bella could be seen approaching Brad, who was standing with Elisa talking to several guests holding drinks. But before Bella could reach Brad, Akira and Ivan blocked her path. Then, Bella could be heard screaming, shouting things like how Elisa wasn’t right for Brad and that Brad was making a huge mistake by marrying her.
She also screamed that Brad was her true love and that she had only made one mistake, yet Brad kept punishing her for it. Brad appeared to stay silent and didn’t respond to Bella, and Elisa also seemed indifferent, not reacting to her at all. Finally, Brad spoke up, saying there was no more "us" between him and Bella, and then he asked her to leave.
But Bella ended up throwing a tantrum until Sasha finally poured a pitcher of cocktail over Bella’s head, turning her white dress red and orange. Sasha was immediately pulled back by Olivia, Minji, and Kimberly. Then, Rika was seen approaching Bella and scolding her, telling her she was making a fool of herself. Gary and Jason also joined Akira and Ivan to help them block Bella;
Gary could be heard saying that it was best if Bella left and that he was willing to call a rideshare for her. Dennis, who was watching it all, rubbed his face. Then he put his smartphone down and thought, "is she really my childhood friend? what an embarrassment."
Then he picked up his smartphone again and checked when the five-minute video had been sent. It turned out Hyunjin had posted it an hour after they left—likely while he was busy looking at the house with Amber. The wedding reception must have ended, and Hyunjin was probably on his way home. The recording itself, however, was likely made shortly after Dennis departure.
Following the video, the chat was filled with nothing but a discussion about the scene they had witnessed. Only Sasha, Minji, Olivia, Kimberly, Rika, Elisa, and Daisy—who seemed to have just joined in from the bedroom, since Dennis could see several new messages written by her—were talking about it. None of the men in the group chat were chiming in or joining the conversation.
Then Minji shared another video, only one minute long. When Dennis played it, he saw Chris arrive and pull Bella away, even as she continued to scream about how Brad had moved on too quickly, that he had never loved her, and so on. Dennis just snorted as he watched, then put his smartphone back down, too tired to keep watching or reading the chat.
"They already divorced six months ago, and Brad and Elisa married six months after divorce, That’s perfectly normal; it’s not moving on too fast. Besides, she already has Chris herself—the dude literally showed up right there... Bella is just something else... I’m just glad I have nothing to do with her anymore," Dennis thought in his head while watching television.
Then he went back to watching TV, but out of boredom, he opened his status interface and looked over his stats again while thinking. Afterward, he checked his skill manager.
"Hmm... should I level up using the Dimensional Training Room? But if I get too strong, it’ll be a hassle. I want a quiet life, not to be the center of attention. It’s already annoying enough at school since so many people know me and keep coming by asking for help with all sorts of things," Dennis muttered inside his head.
Dennis closed the interface again, changing his mind. He leaned back and stretched his body, relaxing on his sofa and watching television. But after a while, he grew curious because not a single one of his seven wives had come out of the room.
"What are they doing, sleeping?" Dennis wondered.
Dennis stood up and walked to his bedroom, opening the door slowly and peeking inside. It turned out they were all on the bed. Daisy was lying face down, holding her smartphone and typing, while Diana, Dahlia, Donna, Deborah, Dulcia, and Daphne were lying face down, piled on top of Daisy while staring at her screen together in total silence.
"Good grief, they’re still chatting in the group. But looking at them, it’s actually kind of pitiful. Back when the others were still inside Daisy’s body, they could all see together through one pair of eyes. Now they have to pile up like that," Dennis muttered in his head.
[True, Master, but they seem much happier this way. You can see it on all of their faces.]
"Yeah, you’re right. That’s why I don’t want to disturb them," Dennis said.
[Understood, Master.]
Dennis went back out and closed the door quietly, then looked around his apartment. Finally, he took off his shirt and walked over to the bookshelves, starting to tidy up his things since they were moving to the new house next week. Dennis crouched by the shelf under the television and began packing the game consoles, speakers, sound system, and other electronics—except for the router—so they’d be easy to transport later.
In his head, he was already imagining the possibilities; since the new house had a basement originally used for the heating system, he intended to use part of that space to build a man cave for himself. But then he remembered Dulcia wanted to use the basement as a fitness area, especially since Deborah wanted two rooms knocked into one to make her laboratory spacious enough for all her samples. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Dennis immediately felt a bit discouraged, but he planned to talk to Dulcia about sharing the basement space with him—maybe even combining their setups, since he needed to get some training in as well. After finishing with his electronics, which were packed into a cardboard box and sealed with a label, he began taking down the photos hanging on the walls to tidy them up.
He saw a photo of himself back when he was still overweight, posing with Daisy when the two of them were newly married. Dennis smiled, then stacked it with the others and packed them into a marked box. After that, he went to the kitchen and started packing some equipment from the cabinets that was rarely used—some collector plates given by his parents and in-laws as wedding gifts, and several sets of utensils that were still new and almost never touched.
He put everything into boxes and labeled them, then went into the laundry room behind the kitchen to gather clothes hangers and some unused towels to pack away. After stacking the boxes in the living room, he opened the dimensional storage he now possessed from his talent manager and stored them inside. Following that, he sat back down on the sofa to relax and watch television while checking his smartphone, where the chat was still going strong and showing no signs of stopping.
