My Scheming Little Devil-Chapter 787: Crisis Again_1
Hua Lunxi ushered Ye Lu into the car, stepped on the accelerator, and disappeared in a cloud of dust.
"Hua Lunxi, are you really Hua Lunxi?" Ye Lu hadn’t come to terms with this astonishing turn of events and turned to look at Hua Lunxi, her eyes vacant.
Were they eloping now? Oh Lord, eloping, what kind of melodramatic plot was this? Moreover, they were two completely unrelated individuals.
Hua Lunxi also seemed rather flustered, his breath shaky; it took him a moment to calm down. He turned to look at Ye Lu, his expression simultaneously apologetic and slightly awkward.
"Sorry, I scared you, didn’t I? It was an emergency, so I kissed you."
Ye Lu shook her head, he hadn’t really kissed her in all fairness. When he’d leaned in, he’d used a finger as a barrier. But from an outsider’s perspective, it had seemed as if they had kissed.
His passionate declaration of love had further convinced everyone that their affair was a done deal.
"Although I don’t mind you taking me away, could you tell me what happened?" She was incredibly curious.
Thinking about the abrupt incident and the dangerous assault made her feel incredibly tense.
Hua Lunxi had rescued her at the most critical moment and had even professed his love for her. His motives were clearly not simple.
Her heart suddenly pounded, a vague intuition making her terribly anxious.
"I can’t explain it in the car, I’ll take you somewhere quiet."
Given Ye Lu’s current wariness, she shouldn’t easily trust anyone. But Hua Lunxi’s voice had a strong persuasiveness to it.
Or perhaps, she had an unusual sense of trust in him, and always felt that he wouldn’t harm her.
...
On the plane, the atmosphere was tense. The nurse was extremely anxious, eyeing the thermometer.
"It’s nearly 41 degrees, oh God, why such a high fever? What do we do?" Even the experienced nurse felt that something was wrong. He had developed such a high fever within just a few hours.
She had been continuously using ice to reduce his temperature, but to no avail.
This condition was extremely off.
"We must call Doctor Jacob." The nurse grabbed the satellite phone, prepared to call Jacob.
However, the feverish ThirdYoung Master Jun, lying on the bed, grabbed her wrist. Despite his weakness, his grip was as strong as a hot iron hoop, which scared the nurse motionless.
"Don’t call." His weak, low voice left no room for dispute. It was filled with determination and ruthlessness.
The nurse quickly nodded in agreement. "Then, I’ll give you an injection to reduce your fever."
"I said it’s not necessary, how much time is left?" His lips, chapped and dry from the fever, hurt as if they had been burned, yet he insisted on maintaining his lucidity.
"Half an hour."
"Good, I want to sleep. Don’t disturb me." Third Young Master Jun tiredly closed his eyes.
Observing him close his eyes and then fall asleep, the nurse wasn’t sure if he was asleep or fainted.
Doctor Jacob had instructed her to report any unusual circumstances promptly, but Third Young Master’s ferocious demeanor had frightened her, preventing her from disobeying him.
And that half hour in severe anxiety and unease, finally elapsed.
As the plane landed, Feiyu rushed up anxiously, followed by Yang Su who brought a specialized medical team with him, his face filled with tension.
Third Young Master was immediately placed on a stretcher, evacuated from the plane and taken to the mansion.
Feiyu shot the nurse a cold look, then turned toward the now unconscious Third Young Master. His heart tremored as a trace of ruthlessness flashed across his eyes. He led the nurse into the mansion.
