My Possessive CEO: Trembling in His Arms-Chapter 79: This Time, He Won’t Hold Back!
"Where’s Renee? Has anyone seen Renee?"
Joyce shook her head, "No, I haven’t seen her."
Ivy quickly picked up her phone to call Renee Winslow, but tried twice without success. No one answered. She sent a message to Renee, but there was no reply.
Joyce said, "Let me try."
She also called Renee, but still couldn’t get through. Messages were also not returned.
Ivy looked around anxiously, "What’s going on? Why isn’t Renee out yet? Could something have happened to her?"
Joyce reassured, "Don’t overthink it. This is North Aethelburg, what could happen to her here? Maybe she hasn’t come out yet, still in the haunted house."
So the two sat outside and waited, five minutes, ten minutes, fifteen minutes...
Half an hour passed, and Renee Winslow still hadn’t come out.
Even Joyce now felt something was wrong, nervously saying, "This doesn’t seem good."
Ivy tried to stay calm despite being worried, "Could she have gone back to her apartment?"
Joyce immediately denied, "Impossible. Didn’t you hear her say her boyfriend went home for the holiday? She’s staying in the dorm with us for these three days. Besides, even if she had an emergency and had to return to the dorm, she would have told us in advance, wouldn’t just leave without a word."
Ivy guessed, "Could her boyfriend have come to find her and she’s gone with him?"
Since their visit to The Stadium Bar last time, both Ivy and Joyce knew Renee had a boyfriend with a strong background.
As for who exactly Renee’s mysterious boyfriend was and what his specific identity was, Renee had not said, and they hadn’t asked.
Now Ivy brought it up, and Joyce remembered that day too, shaking her head, "Also impossible. Even if she wanted to go to her boyfriend’s place, she would have sent us a message to let us know; she wouldn’t just leave without a word."
Ivy was almost in tears, "Then what should we do? Should we call the police?"
Joyce replied, "Calling the police won’t help now; it’s not yet 24 hours."
Ivy suggested, "How about I call Lynn Carrington from the next dorm to check if Renee returned to the dorm?"
Joyce said, "Okay, confirm it to set your mind at ease. Go ahead and call."
Ivy called Lynn, who happened to be in the dorm catching the call, and quickly went to knock on the door of the adjacent dorm, but after a long time, there was no answer; the door was closed.
Lynn said, "Renee Winslow doesn’t seem to be there; your dorm’s door is closed, and no one answered the door."
Ivy then said, "Go find the dorm manager and ask the dorm manager to open the door."
Lynn found the dorm manager who opened the door, confirming there was no one inside.
After hanging up, Ivy was even more worried, "Renee is not in the dorm."
Joyce said, "I think she might be in trouble."

Renee Winslow had her hands tied behind her with hemp rope, her ankles also tied together, and was left on the third floor of an unfinished building on the outskirts. In front of her was a brand-new iPad.
She inched forward on the ground, moving slowly like a turtle, until she reached a concrete pillar. She used the pillar to rub against the hemp rope, which was as thick as her thumb, and rubbed for a long time until nightfall finally broke the rope.
Once the rope on her hands was broken, she quickly untied the rope on her feet.
Renee quickly untied the hemp rope around her ankles, picked up the iPad on the ground, and without taking a second look, quickly ran downstairs, raising a cloud of dust behind her as she fled.
Getting outside the unfinished building, she looked at the halted construction site, empty and pitch-black, feeling more terrifying than the haunted house.
Surrounded by the oppressive dark construction site, apart from the sound of the wind, all she could hear was the clear thumping of her heart.
She dared not linger and sprinted forward, finally able to stop when she reached where streetlights illuminated the road.
Once stopped, she bent over, gasping heavily as if she’d just walked through the gates of hell — the actual gates of hell, not an artificial haunted house.
Renee had no phone, no money, and could not hail a taxi; she had to keep moving forward.
Lost and clueless about where she was, or where to go, she continued to walk, hoping to find a place with people.
As she thought about her predicament, despair washed over her, and tears fell silently.
But now was not the time to feel sad; she dared not even cry. Sniffling, she tried opening the iPad and discovered it didn’t have a password, allowing her to use it directly.
There were no extraneous apps on the interface, and the photo album was placed prominently in the center of the screen.
Renee opened the album to find no photos, only a three-minute video.
At first glance, there were three men and one woman in an intimate situation.
Renee felt her eyes burning, took a quick look, closed it immediately, and continued to walk.
She walked for a while and then reopened the video as she moved forward, watching it while walking.
This video was clearly edited and processed. After it played, blood-red subtitles emerged.
[If you dare to tell again, your fate will be worse than the woman’s in the video!]
[Don’t think he will always protect you; you’re merely a plaything.]

The Yates Family, first-floor dining room.
During every holiday, the Yates family would gather together, and today was no exception.
Jack Yates and his two brothers, his parents, his grandfather, along with his second uncle’s family, his aunt and uncle’s family, cousins, and nieces and nephews, were all present, enjoying each other’s company.
Though over eighty, Commander Yates — Jack’s grandfather — still exuded vigor. Clearing his throat, he spoke with authority.
Commander Yates began with words of national prosperity, with the younger generation beneath him nodding and agreeing with smiles.
Then he spoke about the importance of family harmony, urging unity and cooperation rather than internal conflicts, to which everyone naturally agreed.
Commander Yates then shifted the focus to Jack, sternly saying, "Felix, you need to settle your personal matters quickly; you’re thirty, time to marry." He then looked at Chloe, "Eldest daughter-in-law, you should take more initiative and help Felix find a suitable girl."
Though originally from the south, despite his decades in Northcity, Commander Yates still spoke in his native dialect, which the family understood well.
Chloe laughed, "Dad, don’t worry about it. We’re already helping him find one. We’ll ensure to choose a granddaughter-in-law you’re satisfied with."
Commander Yates cheerfully replied, "As long as Felix is satisfied, whether I am doesn’t matter; it’s important that he likes her."
After dinner, Jack used the pretense of smoking to step outside, heading to a secluded corner to call Renee Winslow.
However, just as he took out his phone, he received a call from Aiden Grant.
Jack’s brows furrowed deeply, his tone impatient, "What is it?"
Aiden said, "Third Brother, Renee Winslow is missing."
Jack immediately turned towards the parking area, coldly demanding information as he hurried, "What’s going on? Explain clearly!"
Aiden replied, "Her two roommates came to find me at the bar, saying they went to the haunted house on Serenity Street this afternoon, but Renee never came out. They can’t reach her by phone, nor does she respond to messages."
Jack aggressively opened the car door and got in, ordering in a deep voice, "Lock down all major roads and search the entire city."
After issuing his commands, Jack slammed the accelerator, his expression dark and imposing, exuding a terrifying aura.
This time, he would not hold back!
