Chapter 205: Chapter 205: He’s Going Crazy Thinking About Her!

Yesterday afternoon, Professor Young was lamenting that his son wouldn’t come home to get married, as he was completely absorbed in his work.

But that very evening, Professor Young’s son, Keenan Tierney, returned.

When Keenan returned, Renee Winslow was having dinner at Professor Young’s house with Noah Sawyer.

Renee quickly finished her meal afterward, planning to take Noah upstairs, but Noah started playing with Keenan and seemed very happy.

This morning, Professor Young asked his son Keenan to take Noah to kindergarten. Renee refused, but Professor Young insisted that Keenan take him.

Thus, an awkward situation developed.

As they walked out of the neighborhood gate, Renee smiled and said to Keenan, "You can go on. We’re out now, and Aunty can’t see, so you don’t need to escort us further."

Keenan chuckled, "I’m on vacation, not busy at all. Besides, I’m not just putting on a show for my mom. I really like Noah."

Renee smiled back, "The kindergarten isn’t far from the neighborhood, it’s just a few steps. We really don’t need you to escort us."

Noah looked up with his big, watery eyes at Renee and said in a childlike voice, "Mommy, it’s such a long walk. My legs get tired."

Renee lovingly patted Noah’s little head, "How about we walk for a bit, and then Mommy carries you?"

Noah wrapped his little arms around Keenan’s leg, "I want Uncle to carry me. Uncle’s strong and carries steadily."

Renee felt a pinch of heartache but was helpless, "Be good, Noah. Mommy’s strong too, Mommy can carry you. Uncle Keenan has things to do, let’s not trouble him."

Keenan picked up Noah with one arm and smiled at Renee, "I have nothing to do all day today, let’s go."

Renee reluctantly agreed.

Keenan carried Noah, with Renee walking beside him, and to outsiders, they seemed like a happy family of three.

It wasn’t until they walked further away that Renee didn’t notice the black Mercedes parked outside the neighborhood gate.

After all, this area was a high-end residential district, seeing a few Mercedes or Audis parked around was not unusual.

The three of them walked away chatting and laughing.

Keenan held Noah with one hand and blocked Renee with the other, in a protective gesture.

Jack Yates sat in the car, lit another cigarette, his deep, sharp eyes filled with red blood streaks.

After dropping the child off, Renee smiled and nodded to Keenan, "Thank you."

Keenan smiled back, "You’re welcome."

Renee waved her hand, "Bye-bye, I’m heading to the office."

Keenan quickly followed up, "I’ll give you a lift."

Renee refused without hesitation, "No need." Realizing her tone was a bit too rushed, she quickly added, "I’m taking the subway, it’s just a few stops, very convenient."

Keenan said, "My car is parked in the neighborhood garage, also very convenient."

Renee insisted, "Really, no need, you should go back and rest."

Keenan chuckled, "Even if you don’t want me to drive you, I can’t go back now; Aunty would kick me out."

Renee laughed, "Then it’s hard on you to take a trip."

Keenan replied, "Not hard at all."

A honk sounded.

The black Mercedes parked by the roadside suddenly honked.

Keenan reached out to shield Renee, "Watch out."

Jack Yates watched this scene, his eyes turned even redder, so red they seemed to drip blood. His hand clenched the steering wheel tightly, his knuckles bulging with veins, his burning gaze fixed on Renee outside the car.

That hand behind Renee’s waist seemed so obstructive, Jack wanted to chop it off there and then!

Years of longing peaked at that moment.

Jack was on the verge of madness, his heart itching and tingling, his blood boiling.

He wanted so much to get out of the car, take Renee away, hold her inside the car, kiss her fiercely, kiss all over her body, watch her succumb under him, see her eyes blurred, pleading, crying for him, calling him third brother, sweetly saying she loves him.

He truly missed her, ached deep in his heart.

But eventually, Jack restrained himself, holding back from getting out of the car.

He leaned back in the seat, cigarette in his lips, his cheeks hollow as he took a long drag.

The sharp draw sent nicotine shooting into his lungs, causing him to cough.

After a few coughs, he picked up his phone and took a picture of Keenan.

After snapping the photo, he sent it to Aiden Grant, then called him, "Check this person out."

Aiden, who played until after three in the morning and was woken by the call, was ready to snap until he saw Jack’s number and swallowed all the swear words back down, obediently answering the phone.

"Who should I check?" Aiden, still groggy from sleep, hadn’t even had time to check the messages.

Jack said, "I’ve sent you the photo, check out the person in the photo."

Aiden switched back to the chat interface, glanced at the photo of an ordinary-looking man.

Although he didn’t understand why Jack needed to check such a person, he didn’t ask further, immediately agreeing, "Alright, I’ll have someone check right away."

Jack coldly instructed, "Within an hour."

Aiden hesitated, "...Alright."

"Third brother," Aiden attempted to explain the investigation of Renee from the day before, "about yesterday’s investigation..."

Jack cut him off, "Quickly get a clear report on the person in the photo. As for everything else, I don’t know, and neither do you."

Aiden was left speechless.

Jack added, "That child, you’d better do a DNA test."

Aiden was left without words again.

When Renee arrived at the company, it wasn’t even eight o’clock. Instead of heading straight to the office, she went to the company cafeteria, slowly finishing her breakfast before heading to the office at eight forty.

Her work start time was nine, and generally, she’d arrive at eight thirty or eight forty, ensuring she wasn’t late but also not too early.

Today, as soon as she entered, she saw her assistant Nadia Sheridan and the sound engineer Joel standing by her desk.

"Good morning, Ms. Renee," Nadia smiled, "someone sent you flowers."

"Flowers?" Renee was surprised and quickly walked over, seeing a large bouquet of red roses on the desk and frowning as she asked, "Who are they from?"

Nadia replied, "I don’t know, I just entered the office, and a delivery guy brought these over, saying they’re for you."

Renee asked, "Didn’t the delivery mention who sent them?"

Nadia said, "I didn’t ask."

Renee picked up the roses to inspect but found no card.

She had been at Nimbus Media for a year and had never received flowers before. Why would she suddenly receive a bouquet of red roses today?

Could it have been Keenan who sent them?

This thought only flashed across her mind briefly before she quickly dismissed it.

No way, she had only met Keenan yesterday. Why would he send her flowers?

Plus, her public image was that of a single mom. Other than Sylvia Carrington, even Evan Fenton didn’t know the child wasn’t her biological son.

She hadn’t explained to Professor Young, so his whole family, including Keenan, assumed the child was hers.

A woman with a child, and Keenan being a company CEO, it was unlikely he’d immediately send her flowers after just one meeting.

If it wasn’t Keenan, who else could it be?

Another person flashed through Renee’s mind, but she quickly dismissed it.

Even more impossible for it to be Jack Yates.

Renee knew better than anyone just how proud Jack was.

Eight years ago, when Jack had his eyes on her, not to mention sending flowers, he didn’t even offer a single sweet word, instead using domineering means to forcefully keep her by his side.

Now, Jack was over thirty, even less likely to engage in such a romantic gesture characteristic of young litterateurs.

Unable to figure it out, Renee stopped overthinking and directly disassembled the flowers, distributing a rose to each female employee in the office, giving the remaining ones to her assistant Nadia.

At three in the afternoon, Evan Fenton and Sylvia Carrington returned.

Evan approached Renee with a smile, saying, "Renee, there’s a banquet tonight, you’ll accompany me."

Renee said, "Mr. Fenton, I still have to take care of the child tonight, could you..."

Sylvia interrupted, "You go ahead. I’ll pick Noah up and take care of him for you."

Renee hesitated for a long time and asked, "What kind of banquet is it, and who will be there?"
