MY Masochistic CEO-Chapter 76 unspoken
Chapter 76: Chapter 76 unspoken
"Yes, they did." Edward unpacked the meals and said, "William, you really helped me out. Originally, the two production lines would have cost at least 500 million dollars, but he gave me a discount of 440 million dollars. I saved 60 million dollars, all thanks to you."
I waved it off. "I just happened to know him and mentioned it casually."
Edward said, "Hey, it’s refreshing to be friends with you. There’s never been so much hypocrisy."
He continued, "But William, Michaelson and the others mentioned it was quite risky this time. I know you mean well, but your safety is crucial."
"I’ll be more careful next time."
I smiled. Without my recent selfless acts, I wouldn’t have been able to turn the situation around so quickly.
"You’re good at everything but don’t consider yourself enough. But that’s what I admire about you. You turned down a billion-dollar check just like that." Edward looked admiring. "But it shows your character. There aren’t many people like you in this world."
I replied calmly. "In a world where money often dictates, holding onto certain values is essential."
I cursed inwardly. ’If I can start over, I definitely won’t do that.’
"You said it well. In any case, being friends with William is truly an honor."
Edward sincerely smiled. "Oh, by the way, I’ve reviewed the plan. It’s excellent. I’ll transfer the first installment tomorrow," he said.
"Edward, rest assured. I’ve arranged everything. It won’t delay the promotion," I replied.
He must have discussed it with Gary. Once the machines were in place, all problems would be solved.
"I always trust your ability," Edward said.
Mary remained silent throughout, gazing at me with tender eyes. It made me a bit uneasy.
’Edward is right here, and your gaze is too affectionate, isn’t it?’
"Gary, I want to stay tonight to take care of William," Mary suddenly said.
I almost choked on my saliva.
’Hey, lady, what are you up to? Didn’t we agree not to be too intimate before them?’
"Um, it’s okay. I can handle it myself," I quickly said.
Mary cast a glance, then said to Edward, "Last night, it was Lillian who took care of him. William saved my life, so I should do something."
I thought Edward would object to the idea of a man and woman being alone, but to my surprise, he said, "Well, it’s only right. Although our family isn’t as wealthy as the Allen Family, our morals shouldn’t lag. Since William has no kin in Sevan, it is our duty to take care of him."
"Edward, I... I’m a grown man, and she’s a young lady. There will be talk."
I thought I had made my point clear, but Edward firmly stated, "William, a clear conscience fears no accusation. I believe in your character."
I struggled to contain the laughter that was welling up within me.
Mary’s eyes twinkled with sly amusement, her gaze narrowing to that of a shrewd fox!
Gary had already said so. What else could I do?
To refuse further would indirectly imply an ulterior motive regarding Mary.
Later, Mary might think, ’You allowed Lillian to take care of you but refuse me. Is there some secret between you two?’
To avoid trouble, I reluctantly agreed with a heavy heart.
After a brief exchange, Edward rose to take his leave.
"I shall call George later. George truly considers you a friend. You should let him know," he said.
I scratched my head awkwardly. "I’m merely concerned that you guys will worry."
He patted my shoulder. "Rest well. I’ll explain things to George. Tomorrow, George and I will come to visit you."
After that, he turned to Mary and said, "Take care of William. I’m off."
"I’ll see you out," Mary said.
She accompanied Edward to the door, then turned back, closed the door, and locked it from the inside. A sense of foreboding crept into my heart. "What are you up to?"
She hummed, "What do you think I’m up to?"
With my arms crossed, I warned, "I’m telling you. If you misbehave, I’ll shout."
"Tell me. Did you lay a hand on the young girl last night?"
She leaned in and asked.
"On my honor, even if I had the intention, I lacked the courage. Given her standing and mine, would it be fitting?"
But I thought to myself, ’Of course I did, but that’s not something I can share with you.’
"Really?"
"I swear to the heavens. I had no relations with her."
Indeed, there was no intimacy. Everything happened without Lillian’s awareness.
Mary’s big eyes stared straight at me. I knew, at this moment, I couldn’t falter. Any sign of weakness would be noticed by her.
So, I put on a bold front, my eyes filled with indignation and grievance.
"You pass!" Mary said.
I breathed in relief and pulled her close. "Tell me. How will you compensate me?"
"How about a kiss?"
I pursed my lips, motionless. She wrapped her hands around my neck and naturally planted a kiss.
Everything unfolded in that kiss.
I lost all sense of time. She weakly pushed me away. "You’re suffocating me. My lips are swollen!"
"It’s retribution!" I said.
Suddenly feeling mischievous, I started nibbling on her neck.
"Oh, stop that. What if Edward sees it tomorrow?"
"Well... how about nibbling somewhere else, somewhere hidden?"
Blushing deeply, she protested. "I won’t let you be naughty!"
Ignoring her protests, I playfully nudged closer, sinking into a warm embrace.
As I inhaled deeply, the intoxicating scent made my blood rush.
It wasn’t a perfume scent or a body fragrance, but a milky aroma.
I felt like I was about to explode.
She held my head, emitting a seductive hum. "It’s so early... You haven’t even passed the probation period, and you want to be permanent?"
Caught up in the moment, I couldn’t care less.
I marked her with my own, saying, "From now on, you’re mine!"
"Come out," she said.
"I won’t. I haven’t finished marking you."
