My Mage System (BL)-Chapter 290: *Not a jerk after all*
Isaac then added, talking to him close to his ear in a low but threatening voice, "If I had let you hit me with that ball of energy, it would have gone through my body, destroyed the protective shield, and killed all the Titans that were behind me, leaving only a big gaping hole in the stands." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
He chuckled and added, holding him firmly, "Of course I wouldn’t have died; I would have given you a good beating, and it would have just taken me a few hours at most to recover from that injury, or even a few minutes if I had used a healing potion of divine grade. So now tell me, if I had let you launch this attack, would it have been worth it?"
The Titan then said to him in an almost inaudible and panicked voice, "What are you talking about? It’s impossible for that ball of energy to get through the shield unless someone intentionally lowered its power."
Isaac remained unmoved and said against his ear, so only he could hear, "I saw it in a vision; everything I told you is true. Disperse that ball and I will forfeit."
The Titan continued to struggle, but Isaac felt that it was more to give an illusion than to really get out of the way. The Titan then asked him, "Why would anyone do that? If what you say is true, many Titans would have died; this is not what I want."
Isaac was beginning to lose patience and said to him, "Don’t be so naive. Your Emperor is determined to declare war on the Gods, and we, the Warrior Spirits, are the guarantors of peace in the universe. So this time if there is a war, we will participate. Congratulations, you have just given your Emperor the opportunity he dreams of. If all these Titans were to die while our General, who is also the God of War, is here, your Emperor would use their deaths to start this war. Do you get it now? This is not a game anymore."
He added then, "So, I don’t know who diminished the power of this shield, and I don’t know why you created such a weapon, but you have to be aware that when you use it, it will destroy everything in its path, no matter if they are enemies or friends. Are you fucking going to disperse it or not?"
The Titan then said to him in a voice no louder than a whisper, "I can’t disperse it. Send me against the top of the shield and make sure they can’t suspect me of collaborating with you. If they really want to start the war, it won’t be at the cost of hundreds of Titan lives, and it won’t be because of me."
Isaac then said to him, relieved, "You’re not a jerk after all."
Without further ado, he changed his position, and with a large part of his current strength, he sent the Titan crashing against the top of the shield. The ball exploded on contact with the shield, which was instantly pulverized, and the explosion, which was finally directed towards the sky, also hit this Titan, who was thrown to the ground with incredible violence, forming a huge crater around him.
The noise of the explosion was deafening, and while the arena was plunged into darkness because of this strange ball of energy, he took the opportunity to make this Titan drink a healing potion of divine grade, because as he had told him, he had already fought against the Gods, and he had a lot of experience.
He knew perfectly well that this little jerk had used the same energy as Lilith’s, and therefore the only potion that could heal this kind of wound was a healing potion of divine grade.
Before returning to his place as if nothing had happened, he slipped a transdimensional communication stone into his jacket because he had a feeling that this little jerk might still be useful to them in the future.
When the blast finally dissipated, he was still in the arena waiting for the Titan in charge of this ’friendly’ tournament to give him the victory. Once it was done, without a word, he left the arena to join Elias, who patted him on the shoulder to let him know that he had done a good job.
When he looked at Miguel, he immediately realized that it was a clone. So, after taking back his place, he asked Elias through their telepathic link, "Did Miguel take advantage of this sudden darkness to go meet this Titan who seemed to want to talk to you?"
Elias smiled and replied to him, "Indeed, good job, Isaac. You did much better than expected, and you gave us the opportunity we needed to get in touch with him. Let’s just hope now that not all the Titans are supporting their Emperor."
He then said aloud, "Everyone stay here; I’m going to talk with the Emperor of the Titans."
Instead of teleporting to where the Emperor, Diana, and their personal guards were, he teleported to the arena near the still unconscious Titan who had caused all this commotion. He grabbed him by the collar of his jacket and threw him towards the Titan who seemed to be in charge of choosing who would fight.
He then said to the Emperor of the Titans in a loud voice so that everyone could hear him, "This fight was indeed a little more muscular than the others. And maybe the public should not attend the next fights; if my warrior hadn’t made sure to deflect this attack, the consequences could have been dramatic."
The Emperor nodded and said to him, "Let’s postpone the fights until tomorrow, the time the shield can be repaired. There is no hurry after all; let’s continue to get to know each other."
He then added, "Do you want to stay with us as a guest, or do you prefer to go back in your Palace, God of War?"
Elias then said to him, "We’ll go home and come back tomorrow. I can’t wait to see what your Titans have in store for us; this last battle has whetted the appetite of my men."
He saw the Titans’ emperor smirk, and he said to him, "I promise, you won’t be disappointed; I still have plenty of surprises for you."
Elias then, wasting no more time, opened a golden portal and motioned for his men to pass through it.
Before leaving this world, he sent two messages. The first was to warn his 4 men he had sent to scout to collect as much information as possible, and that he had managed to give them an extra day for their mission.
The second was to Miguel to tell him to do what he had to do here and that their men were under his responsibility until tomorrow.
