My Kitsune System-Chapter 57
Dan then swung his blade at the being’s abdomen. Only for it to be deflected, and not even a single scratch found on the being.
Whatt!!!
Dan’s face immediately turned pale. But there was no time to be stunned, as Dan felt his instincts kick in.
Using the wall beside him. Dan ran up the wall and made a flip landing on the other side of the being.
A few seconds later, a large tail landed just where Dan had stood.
"I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but this much harder than I thought."
Dan then gripped Soul Reaper tightly as he rushed in again.
Dan ran towards the hissing creature. His sword slashed down on the creature. Again, the Soul Reaper met with the creature’s tough skin. The blade slid off without dealing any damage.
The creature then swiped at Dan with its claws. But Dan was able to duck down in time. He was able to avoid by a hair’s breadth.
Dan’s body turned cold, sweat dripping down his forehead. He looked at the creature’s claws one more time. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
A cold sensation spread from his back around his body.
That was a close one. Can’t afford such risks.
Tightening his grip on Soul Reaper, Dan rushed toward.
I need to find a soft spot and bring it down
The shadows started pouring into Soul Reaper.
"Phantom Requim" Dan spoke.
Immediately, different mirages of Dan appeared and attacked the creature. Using its claws, the creature was able to tear through all of them. Having destroyed all the mirages, its expression turned blank. From there, it turned dark.
It had noticed Dan was no where to be seen. Only the creature was within the room.
Blink!!! It noticed something shiny at the corner of the room. But it was already to late. Whatever was holding the shiny object had already moved and was fast approaching it.
Dan had jumped toward the creature with Soul Reaper outstretched. His blade is moving toward the creature’s eyes.
Its body might be made of impenetrable scales, but its eyes wouldn’t
Soul Reaper was about to reach its target when the creature immediately moved its head. The blade narrowly missed the creature’s eyes. Brushing its scales.
Seeing this Dan drew in a large amount of breathe. His eyes widened. His heart skipped a beat.
Oh noo
Suddenly, something crashed into him, changing his trajectory, and his body smashed into a wall.
Boom!!! Was the sound his body made after the collision.
Slowly, something dripped into his mouth. A taste of salt started assaulting his mouth as he lay on the floor.
Dan watched as the creature started approaching. He tried moving again.
Crack!!! He heard some bones shout in protest.
Using Soul Reaper as support, Dan stood up. His body was staggering.
Dan then brought up his screen.
And looked at his life essence remaining.
I should be able to use Fate severance at least once. I would have preferred to save it when I had to escape from Baozhai and the others.
"It is what it is," Dan said as his expression turned cold. The creature had now begun to rush at Dan. When it movement started to slow down. The golden strings began to surface.
Dan could see them clearly, with the creature’s own having a very dark hue to it.
"That’s it. Now to seal your fate."
Dan was able to move and slash at the creature when he noticed a bright light. Coming from the tunnel. It was as if the concept of slowed time rarely affected it.
What is that? Dan thought with wide eyes.
The temperature within the place began to rise fast. It had come from the route Nate had just followed.
Oh no Nate
Dan’s heart skipped a beat.
A swirl of fire then came into the room and engulfed it. Dan was able to duck in time to save himself. But the creature wasn’t so fortunate.
A loud shriek echoed through the room. The flames burned for a while before they began to die down.
In the room now, there weren’t just two figures but three. The first was Dan, who was panting heavily. The second was the creature Dan had been fighting. And the third was a person who was up in flames—or at least most of his body was.
The hair on his head burned bright red, his fist also burned with a red kind of fire. The very place the person stood began to melt away slowly. The temperature within the room began to rise pretty fast.
Dan just watched as the person’s gaze was fixed on the creature and nothing.
So, it’s an ally then
The person then turned to Dan to look at him.
"It’s about to get messy. Move a bit."
The voice sounded familiar. It was no other than Baozhai himself.
As he spoke these words, Baozhai moved toward the creature. His body moved so fast that it caused there to be a boom sound to be made.
One second he was far away from the creature, and the next second he was close to it.
Baozhai’s fist went straight for the creature’s chest.
Boom!!!
His fist sank into its flesh. A sizzling sound could be heard when Baozhai’s skin landed on the creature.
A loud cry could be heard from the creature. With its tail beating from side to side, trying to reach and collide with Baozhai.
Baozhai was able to get back in time. The air around him started to get concentrated and getting thicker. It was as though one could grab the air around him because of the way it had gotten concentrated.
Baozhai opened his mouth, and hot air rolled out of his mouth.
"Crimson Solar Blast," the words came out of Baozhai’s mouth. Slowly, the energy around his fist started to get thicker. A kind of light was on his fist.
He began to move toward the creature. With quick movements, he was able to dodge all of the creature’s attacks. He moved from side to side to evade the creature’s claws and tail strikes.
And when he was able to reach the creature, he planted his fist gruesomely into its stomach.
The creature released a loud hiss. Its eyes widened with pain. Its two hands immediately held Baozhai in place, not allowing him to move. The creature opened its mouth.
Its mouth was riddled with long razor razor-sharp teeth. The creature then brought its head down on Boahzai’s shoulder.
But Baozhai wasn’t shaken. He just remained and planted his fist with glowing light into the creature.
The creature then shrieked, its cry echoing within the walls of this ancient place.
Pulling its head away from the Baozhai’s shoulder, the creature’s body kept shaking. Its cry kept echoing through the walls of the place.
It then moved for a bit before it fell to the ground. Its cries echoed through the walls before it began to die down slowly. Its body started melting too.
Slowly, the creature that had brought Dan to his end was nothing but a pool of liquid.
Dan’s gaze moved toward Baozhai. Sweat dripped down. His heart was beating slowly. His face drained of all colour. Something was gnawing at his heart.
Is this who I want to defeat and escape from?
Dan watched as Baozhai’s shoulder began to heal. And when his blood fell and touched the ground, it kind of burned the ground.
Dan watched as Baozhai approached him with a hand outstretched.
Baozhai then helped Dan up. Baozhai took the lead and led the way through the ancient place, heading for where the other demigods were camping.
"You did well, you know, surviving that long," Baozhai said.
Dan just stared back at him. No words rolled off his lips.
"Also, thank you for saving Nate," Baozhai said as he continued walking ahead with his flames lighting up the path.
Dan stopped for a bit and just watched as Baozhai’s figure moved ahead.
"He really did it. His tiny legs were really able to get help." A smile cracked on Dan’s face.
Dan moved quickly to catch up with Boazhai.
And then they were able to reach the place where the demigods had laid a mini camp.
A smell assaulted Dan’s nose. The place seemed to be filled with a kind of stench.
Spilled guts could be seen all around. The demigods also seemed to be injured. Some were bandaged.
They had a fire, which seemed to be lit at the center of the camp. It seemed as though the demigods were roasting their attackers. The familiar scales seemed to be roasted on a stick.
"Dan?!!" a tiny voice called out to him.
Dan turned his head toward the sound. A young demigod ran toward him. His eyes filled with tears as he crashed into Dan.
Tears overflowed from the young demigod’s eyes. Dan was a bit stunned as he saw the small demigod crash into him.
He raised his hand to pat the young demigod but then stopped. Before finally he slowly placed his hand on Nates head and patted it.
"It’s fine, I am here now," Dan said as he slowly patted the young demigod’s head, trying to soothe him.
