My Joker System: From Low Mana Trash to the Mightiest Wizard!-Chapter 66: Hidden Quest Completed
Chapter 66: Hidden Quest Completed
’Damn... this is tiring...’ Hal complained with a smile as he continued pressing the [Draw Card] button.
He had just finished all 200 Common draws and was now moving on to the Uncommon ones.
Fortunately, he didn’t have to press as much this time, since each draw cost 10 Chaos Points.
Hal finished thirty presses later and tapped on his left wrist to admire his new arsenal.
Out of 200 Common draws, he had managed to pull a total of 97 cards, confirming his theory that the more cards he drew within a specific time range, the higher his chances of success.
Last time, his draw percentage had been in the mid-to-high thirty-percent range.
Now, it has improved to nearly fifty percent, with a noticeable streak of success in the last sixty draws.
Hal managed to pull five permanent common-tier spells out of the 97 draws: Summon Spirit Wolf, Conjure Chains, Mana Barrier, Knockback, and finally, good old Fireball.
Of course, he also drew multiple copies of other cards, increasing the number of charges for the limited-use ones and the level of the permanent ones.
[Weak Mana Blast] is now at level 15, [Glacial Shard] at 12, [Fireball] at 11, and [Spirit Sparrow] at 10. frёeωebɳovel.com
The new permanent cards had also been leveled up due to a few copies but they were all below level 5.
But perhaps the most important spell he obtained in the common draws was the ten charges of [Heal].
While Hal didn’t know how effective the skill was yet, he felt that, at the very least, spending two charges on a heavy injury and one on a minor injury would fully heal the damage.
He wasn’t sure if it could heal shattered bones, though, and he had no intention of testing it on himself.
As for the uncommon-tier draws, Hal drew ten cards out of thirty draws.
It was a satisfying 30% draw rate, unlike last time.
He gained additional charges for [Blink] and [Piercing Light], and also drew new cards such as [Summon Spirit Bear], [Thunder Field], [Glacial Rain], [Flame Tornado], and his first darkness-type spell, [Dark Grip].
It was rather unfortunate that a permanent-durability uncommon-tier spell card still eluded him.
However, he now had enough spell charges to slay hundreds of low-ranked monsters and beasts, perhaps even a few D-ranked creatures, if his Chaos Karma Pool allowed it.
Hal wasn’t entirely sure about the D-rankers, though, as he had never actually encountered one.
They might prove far more lethal than his inexperienced mind could imagine.
Done with the first two, cheaper draws, Hal took a deep breath, stretched his arms, and cracked his fingers.
It was time for the main event.
He initially had 498 points remaining, which was just two points short of a full ten attempts.
So, before returning to his hotel room earlier, Hal purchased two F-ranked cores for thirty copper coins and converted them into Chaos Points using the [Chaos Converter].
He now had ten chances and If he could draw at least two [Rare]-tier spell cards, he would be jumping for joy.
’Phew...’
With a slightly shaking hand, he selected the [Rare Draw] option and then pressed the [Draw Card] option.
Unsurprisingly...
[Boohoo! No Cards Drawn!]
[Boohoo! No Cards Drawn!]
[Boohoo! No Cards Drawn!]
He didn’t obtain anything in three consecutive draws, making Hal’s heart bleed.
He lost a total of 150 points just like that! If he invested them all in [Common Draw]s...
’No...common-tier spells wouldn’t save me from higher-ranked creatures...’ Hal shook his head, consoling himself.
These were inevitable losses for him to grow stronger.
Time was ticking, and he had to keep drawing before the slight boost to his success rate faded away...
[Boohoo! No Cards Drawn!]
[Boohoo! No Cards Drawn!]
[Boohoo! No Cards Drawn!]
’Goddammit!’ Hal wanted to cry. Three hundred points, gone...
But he kept pressing three more times... only to hear nothing but the once-irritating, now-traumatizing, depressed sighs of a jester.
’N-No, fucking way...’
Hal pressed the button one last time.
Fortunately, the system soon revealed that the success rate for [Rare] draws was ten percent, perhaps slightly lower if he didn’t complete ten consecutive draws within a short time frame.
[Congratulations! You have drawn a [Rare]-tier card!]
"Yes! Holy sh*t, yes!! Finally!" Hal celebrated as Loki’s tail wagged more vigorously, sensing his master’s delight.
He quickly pressed the [View Card] button shortly after.

Hal trembled.
He couldn’t help but shake and swallow hard at the description of the spell card he drew.
He could only use it twice, but both times, mangled flesh and shattered bones would scatter, and blood would flow.
Initially, Hal wasn’t confident in fighting D-ranked monsters or beasts, but now he was sure he could defeat at least two of them.
Hal closed the system and was about to open the deck again to replace a few spells in the gesture slot.
However, his hand froze as a sudden notification appeared in front of him:
[Hidden Quest Completed: Small-time Spender]
[You have spent 1000 Chaos Points in one day. You may now use the [Inventory].]
Hal blinked at the unexpected surprise.
At least his wasted points turned out to not be so wasted...
He immediately opened the system and tapped the [Inventory] function, prompting a small window with fifteen slots to appear.
’O...kay? What do I do with this?’
He tried opening the deck and placing a spell card inside, but it didn’t work.
Hal quickly realized it was a dumb thing to attempt.
After all, why would he put a spell card in the inventory when there was already a dedicated deck for them?
It was then that something clicked in his brain.
’Oh!’
He swiftly grabbed the nearest item—a pillow—and placed it into one of the inventory slots.
To his astonishment, the pillow shrank and vanished into the slot.
A pleased, cunning smile appeared on Hal’s face.
He now knew exactly what to do to lose those who would try to pursue him.
