My husband Can Cultivate-Chapter 116: Still Want to Save Them? Dream On!
Zhao Xiong was undoubtedly the most high-profile guest attending the Qin Family’s funeral. The news alone sparked envy throughout all of Kang City.
What did it matter if you had money? What did it matter if you had connections? In Kang City, none of it compared to currying favor with City Lord Zhao.
"By the way, Father, I also sent an invitation to Yang Qi," Qin Lan continued. "I want him to kowtow and atone to our Tian’er at the funeral. I want him to witness the power of our Qin Family. Lin Qingxuan alone won’t be able to save his life!"
"Did he agree?" Qin Fen asked coldly.
"He agreed!" Qin Lan nodded. "I think that punk is probably getting scared. He acted against our Tian’er in a moment of fury, and he must be regretting it dearly now. Speaking of which, that kid was quite capable before. All of Kang City had its eyes on his company’s technology. The current splendor of our Qin Family is largely thanks to his technology!"
Qin Fen sneered, "It’s useless for him to beg for mercy now. He killed my grandson, and I will make him pay with his life. By the way, has the Master you invited to perform the rites arrived? We need him to perform deliverance rites for Tian’er, helping him ascend to paradise so he won’t suffer in the underworld."
This Qin Fen was an extremely superstitious man. He had invited an expert from Jingzhou to perform these rites for his grandson because he truly believed in an afterlife. In his mind, one could not achieve Reincarnation without these rites.
"Rest assured, Father. According to the schedule, he should arrive around six o’clock this evening," Qin Lan replied.
"Good. Go and receive him personally. You must be exceptionally respectful toward the Master!" Qin Fen ordered.
"Don’t worry, Father. This concerns Tian’er, so of course I won’t be careless!" Qin Lan nodded.

At that moment, Yang Qi finished his work for the day and arrived at the former Zhang residence, now the Yang residence. By now, Wolf King and his men had mostly moved in, leaving only a few behind to protect Ye Fei and his family. After all, having so many people living there had become somewhat disruptive.
"Boss, what did City Lord Zhao say?" Wolf King asked curiously.
"That old codger Qin Fen actually invited City Lord Zhao to his grandson’s funeral, and Zhao Xiong agreed. He said he’ll coordinate with us when the time comes," Yang Qi said with a smile.
"I bet that old fool Qin Fen could never dream that his grandson’s funeral will also be the funeral for his Qin Family!" Wolf King said.
"Exactly! I heard it’s not just Zhao Xiong attending; Wang Nantian is going too. Wang Nantian somehow found out about my grudge with the Qin Family and even called me specifically to ask about it. I told him to go. The more, the merrier," Yang Qi chuckled.
Just then, Huang Borren walked in, looking dusty from his travels. "Boss, I just got news. That old fool Qin Fen hired a Master to perform deliverance rites for his grandson. He’s scheduled to arrive at the airport at six this evening!"
Huang Borren had essentially become Yang Qi’s eyes and ears. Yang Qi had also provided him with a considerable amount of money to expand his intelligence network. The goal was to establish a presence not just in Kang City, but across the entire Central Plains Prefecture, and eventually to have eyes and ears throughout the whole Dragon Country. Intelligence was essential; without it, they were blind.
"Deliverance rites?" Yang Qi paused. "People still believe in that stuff?"
"Boss, I’ve looked into it. This Master is very famous in the Jingzhou area," Huang Borren explained. "In this world, some things are only real if you believe in them. The old ways of our ancestors aren’t necessarily fake. Back in my hometown, there was a child whose grandfather passed away. The kid often played at his grandfather’s old house and then suddenly started crying nonstop. Doctors couldn’t find anything wrong. Later, they called a shaman for help, and just like that, the crying stopped. I didn’t believe in any of it before, but now, I’m on the fence."
"Heh, true or not, we can’t let the Qin Family have an easy time," Yang Qi sneered. "It’s almost six. Let’s go ’invite’ this so-called Master to come with us. Remember, put on a bit of a disguise so you don’t get recognized."
「Kang City Airport.」
It was not a large airport, but it was still bustling with people coming and going. At the VIP entrance, a dozen or so black Audis were parked, led by an Alphard minivan. A large number of men stood around the convoy, warily watching their surroundings and preventing anyone from approaching.
A man stepped out of the Alphard. It was Qin Lan. He checked the time; it was almost six. He felt a pang of nervousness. The Master was a renowned figure from Jingzhou, and their reception could not have the slightest flaw. They had spent a fortune to hire him.
Soon, six o’clock arrived. Qin Lan smiled and looked toward the VIP exit. A group of about a dozen people appeared shortly after. The man at the head of the group was dressed in a Daoist robe and wore black-rimmed sunglasses. He certainly looked the part of a Master.
Qin Lan hurried forward and said respectfully, "Master, welcome to Kang City. Please, get in the car!" He bowed low, his posture full of respect.
But just then, the unexpected happened.
Out of the darkness, more than a dozen cars suddenly surrounded them. Dozens of men, all dressed in black and wearing masks, got out.
"Protect the Master!" Qin Lan shouted as he realized things were going wrong.
All his bodyguards immediately formed a protective circle around Qin Lan, the Master, and his team.
"Everyone, stay calm," a low, rough voice announced, distorted by a voice changer. "We’re just here to take the Master and his team with us. If you don’t resist, we won’t use force. Otherwise, don’t blame us for being impolite."
Wolf King was there with more than sixty of the Seventy-Two Wolves. At a minimum, every one of them was an Innate expert. Their combined aura alone was enough to overwhelm the Qin Family’s bodyguards.
Qin Lan gritted his teeth. "What do you think you’re doing? We’re from the Qin Family of Kang City! Offending us won’t end well for you!" 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
"Heh, is the Qin Family supposed to be impressive?" Wolf King waved his hand. "Take them!"
A pack of wolves lunged forward. The Qin Family’s bodyguards were no match for them and were knocked to the ground in an instant. Qin Lan, being just an ordinary man, was so frightened he could only crouch on the ground, covering his head. He watched helplessly as the Master and his entourage were taken away.
"Damn it!"
Only after the dozen cars had sped away did Qin Lan finally get to his feet and begin to roar in fury. But it was useless.
"Useless! A bunch of useless trash! I spend so much money maintaining you, and you’re this worthless!" Qin Lan was livid.
"Lord Qin, those people all seemed to be Innate experts," one of the bodyguards said, shaking his head. "We’re just a bunch of Outer Strength Martial Artists. How could we possibly be a match for them? We can’t afford to cross people like that."
"That strong?!" Qin Lan was terrified. So many Innate experts? Who could possibly have the resources to keep such a terrifying group of masters? Not even the Seventy-Two Wolves should be this strong...
Unfortunately for him, his information was outdated. Thanks to Yang Qi’s Elixirs, the strength of all Seventy-Two Wolves had skyrocketed, raising them to a whole new level.
"You few, follow them," Qin Lan ordered several of his men after a moment of thought. He then returned to the Qin estate himself.
