Chapter 77: 77. Sara Tells Aster What Vivian Had Just Done.

Some time later, Astrid woke up only to realize that she had been sleeping on Aster’s shoulders all along.

The little Frost princess’s cheeks flushed instantly, but Aster pretended to be asleep so that she wouldn’t feel too embarrassed by what she had done.

Seeing that Aster was already asleep, Astrid sighed with relief, and she even felt happy thinking that Aster hadn’t realized that she’d been resting on his shoulder all along.

But since he hadn’t woken up yet, Astrid was thinking that it wouldn’t be a problem for her to rest a little bit more.

And that was exactly what she did as she smiled to herself, realizing that what she was doing felt pretty good.

A part of her hoped that Aster was awake.

However, the other part felt scared of what Aster might think of her if he were to realize what she was doing, and this made Astrid keep her eyes wide open as she looked at him occasionally, just to make sure that he wouldn’t wake up when she least expected him to.

Once satisfied, Astrid stopped resting her head on his shoulder, then she decided to be a little bold.

Since she would be returning home today, what was stopping her from having a little fun with Aster’s hair while he was currently asleep?

And so, she did just that, with a few other things.

But after a while, Aster ’woke up’ with a yawn so that Astrid wouldn’t suspect that he had been awake while she had been playing with his hair and lips.

After some moment of silence between the two, both Aster and Astrid spent the next couple of hours talking and laughing until they finally noticed that time was far spent, and the Frost Demon Princess slowly rose before waving goodbye.

"Goodbye, Aster."

"Goodbye, Astrid."

Since both of them had gotten a bit closer, they now felt very comfortable calling each other by their names.

Even though she hadn’t left the Dragon Queen’s castle yet, Astrid was already missing Aster and Lily so much so that the Frost Demon princess couldn’t wait to see both dragons again.

Now, she couldn’t wait for the tournament to begin so that she could see him again as soon as possible.

However, that wasn’t really important to Astrid right now, because what mattered most to her was how her mother would react upon hearing what she would say to her later this evening.

And so, Astrid stepped out of the garden with Aster watching her as she walked out, while he continued to rest against the oak tree.

After a while, Sara appeared out of thin air before hovering around Aster. "Your Highness, aren’t you going to escort your future wife back to her carriage?"

"Wife??"

"Well, you’re a prince, and she’s a princess. Isn’t that what always happens to two royal family children when they spend time together?"

"Oh, please, Sara. Astrid and I are just friends; nothing more."

Sara smiled and rolled her eyes playfully before sitting next to him. "Hehehehe ~ Alright, if you say so."

"Anyways, what brings you here?"

"Oh, nothing. I was bored, so I thought you would need company while you were relaxing here, but it seemed the princess was already doing that for you. Anyways, I’ve been thinking about something else while the two of you cuddled each other like young couples."

"We weren’t cuddling."

"But it sure looked like you were."

"And it sure looked like you were jealous."

"Hmph, I wasn’t jealous, okay? I was just trying to make fun of you."

"Yeah, right, and how’s that working out?"

"Well, it doesn’t seem to be working." Sara pouted cutely as she stared away from him, trying to act as though she wasn’t jealous of how Aster had been spending his time with Astrid.

Noticing this, Aster rolled his eyes gently with a smile before leaning closer to Sara.

Then he rested his head on her lap, and her lips gently lifted into a smile.

Seeing how Aster had willingly rested his head on her lap reminded Sara of how he had done the same with Cara a few days ago, before their first-ever training session together.

Ever since then, the beautiful banshee had been hoping to pat Aster’s head just as her sister had done, but now that Aster had given her the opportunity to do this, there was no way she wouldn’t make the best of the opportunity she had been given.

And so, Sara began to gently pat his head as she hummed happily while doing so.

Noticing that Sara was utterly in glee right now, Aster smiled and asked calmly. "So, what was the thing you were thinking about?"

"I just heard Her Majesty asking Hallie to send a couple of letters to some very important supernatural beings across the world."

"Why would she do that? Does it have something to do with the tournament?"

"Mmmm. Since Your Highness has been training really well and working really hard these past few days. Her Majesty thought it would be fun to invite all of her friends over to watch your big fight in the arena."

*Sighs* Aster sighed deeply.

"Why am I not surprised she would do something like this. Isn’t she worried I might feel pressured about the attention I’ll receive in the tournament?"

"Will you!?"

"Well, not really. Actually, maybe a little, but still..."

Sara smiled knowingly and replied calmly. "Don’t worry, Your Highness. Your mother believes in you more than anyone else, but I believe the real reason she invited so many important beings across the world was that Her Majesty and the other demon lords wanted to show everyone across the world just how demons had improved a lot, with their hunger and determination. Also, it’s been years since she last saw her friends, and she recently received a letter from the elf queen a few days ago."

"The elf queen?"

"Yep."

"What did the letter say?"

"Since your mother had returned from her long vacation, word had spread across the continent like wildfire, and that means other powerful figures from other continents had found out as well, including the Elf Queen and Her Majesty’s other friends."

"Other friends?"

"Yeah, the Elf Queen is Her Majesty’s friend, just like several other important figures across the world, and as such, they wanted to see and spend time with their friend, but I believe their true objective is to see you and Princess Lily, and that’s why Her Majesty had invited them to come watch you participate in the upcoming tournament."

"Just who exactly were invited?"

"Um, I think the Elf Queen, the Queen of Angels, and so many others as well, but you’ll see them all when the time comes."

Aster sighed softly before nodding in understanding.

"I guess this means I’ll have to work harder in my training."

"Yep, and I’ll be happy to do my best in assisting you as well."

Aster smiled warmly before lifting his head from Sara’s lap, immediately causing the beautiful banshee to frown.

"Ah, Your Highness...."

"Come on, Sara. We have a lot to do." Sara smiled and nodded in understanding before hovering behind him as the two of them left the garden with the intention of having even more intense training sessions together.

Time passed, and now Aster and Sara were having a hellish training session.

Seeing this from afar, a broad smile spread across Vivian’s face as she watched her little prince working really hard to become really strong.

Vivian’s hands were currently crossed beneath her breasts as she leaned toward the wall on the left.

A soft sound of footsteps gently approached Vivian from behind, and the Dragon Queen gently opened her mouth to ask.

"Have all the letters been delivered as I requested?"

"Yes, Your Majesty," Hallie replied as she stepped closer to Vivian.

"Thank you, Hallie."

"You’re welcome, but...." Hallie paused and wondered if she should ask what she had in mind.

"What is it, Hallie?"

"It’s about your mother, Your Majesty. Don’t you think we should....?"

"No," Vivian uttered sharply. "She doesn’t have to know about them."

"But, there’s no way she won’t....."

"I mean it, Hallie. I’m not letting that woman near my children." The smile on her face swiftly turned into a frown, and the Dragon Queen turned around before returning to her study room.

"I-I understand, Your Majesty." Hallie bowed respectfully before trailing behind her Queen.

Meanwhile, back at the Frost Demon Queen’s Castle, Astrid had finally arrived home.

Isabella had been waiting patiently for her daughter to arrive, so she couldn’t wait to hear what Astrid had learned about the young dragon prince and if he could even be seen as a worthy contender for the upcoming tournament.

However, to Isabella’s surprise, her daughter had boldly uttered the most audacious words she had ever heard.

"What did you just say?"
