Chapter 389: Chapter 69: [Second Update]

The disciples were extremely excited to see Jun Wu approaching.

"Move aside." Ignoring the four people trying to greet him, Jun Wu spoke coldly.

The four were taken aback, and after understanding Jun Wu’s intention, they immediately stepped aside, standing a short distance away, somewhat worried as they watched Jun Wu.

Jun Wu stopped, stretched out his hand, and a silver scimitar appeared in it. He raised his hand and pushed forward, sending the scimitar flying directly towards the giant serpent.

The giant serpent was still chasing those four, completely ignoring Jun Wu. It let out a hiss and then lunged fiercely at Jun Wu, opening its mouth wide, intending to swallow him whole.

Suddenly, it felt a flash of silver light before its eyes, followed by a sharp pain in its tongue. Its mouth opened even wider, and blood spurted from it; its tongue had been severed by the scimitar.

The green eyes turned red in an instant, its body thrashing wildly, breaking the surrounding large trees as dust flew, leaving a scene of devastation.

Its gaze at Jun Wu was filled with hatred and madness as it charged headfirst towards him.

Jun Wu tapped his toes, leaping into the air, landing directly above its head. The silver scimitar reappeared in his hand, and he bent down, slicing smoothly from the serpent’s head to its tail, leaving a long gash on the giant snake’s body. Black-red scales fell all over the ground, and blood flowed endlessly, staining the earth red.

The serpent, not expecting to be wounded so badly by the dismissively regarded Jun Wu, was furious. Its tail whipped towards Jun Wu with great force.

Jun Wu leaped into the air, dodging the serpent’s tail, landing once more upon its head.

A flash of silver light passed, and the scimitar pierced directly into the serpent’s left eye. Blood fountained out and then shot from the back of its brain, trailing a blood arrow.

The serpent’s body was lifted, its head thrown high up before crashing heavily down.

"Boom!"

A loud noise reverberated as the serpent’s body hit the ground, creating a large crater, dust swirling around.

The silver scimitar did not cease its assault since the serpent’s presence persisted; this couldn’t kill it. The scimitar flew into the serpent’s mouth and exited halfway down its body, raising a mist of blood.

The serpent’s body was lifted again, then crashed down, deepening the already sizable crater.

This time, the serpent was completely killed, and the silver scimitar flew back into Jun Wu’s hand.

From the moment Jun Wu began his attack until the serpent was slain, it took fifteen minutes, throughout which Jun Wu appeared exceptionally calm and composed, his clothes remarkably clean. His decisive and efficient methods left the four onlookers stunned.

"This... is just too cool, right?" The disciple from the Langya Immortal Sect stared at Jun Wu, mouth agape, in awe.

"Yeah, it’s unbelievably powerful!" The only woman among the four also spoke, her face full of amazement.

"No wonder he’s the Peak Master’s direct disciple, truly different from us!" The disciple from the Langya Immortal Sect was full of admiration for Jun Wu. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"Being so formidable, his cultivation should be above the True Immortal Realm, right?" The disciple from the Bihai Heavenly Palace also chimed in with admiration.

The four shared a glance, seeing mutual respect in each other’s eyes.

"Thank you, Senior Brother, for saving us. May we know your esteemed name so we can remember our benefactor and repay this kindness?" Zhao Xi from the Langya Immortal Sect quickly clasped his hands in respect as Jun Wu approached, asking with admiration.

"No need." Jun Wu glanced at Zhao Xi, replying indifferently, then walked straight to Mu Chen’s side, took out a water bottle, and drank.

Seeing Jun Wu’s aloofness, Zhao Xi and the others were left confused, not knowing what to do.

"What should we do, Senior Brother Zhao?" Luo Fenfen, the only woman among them, looked carefully at Jun Wu, nudging Zhao Xi’s arm, asking.

Zhao Xi shook his head, clueless as well.

Even though he recognized that Jun Wu and Mu Chen wore the uniforms of their sect’s Peak Master’s direct disciples, he did not know which disciples they were, and facing Jun Wu’s cold demeanor, he braced himself and stepped forward towards Jun Wu and Mu Chen.

"Sorry to bother you, Senior Brothers. Could you please tell us your names, so we know who to thank?" Zhao Xi bowed slightly to Jun Wu and Mu Chen, speaking cautiously.

Jun Wu glanced at him with indifference and remained silent.

Mu Chen, familiar with Jun Wu’s temperament, knew saving them was already his limit; conversation was out of the question, so he spoke up.

"Rest here for a while, then leave." His face remained pale, his voice somewhat weak but calm.

Hearing this, Zhao Xi was puzzled and looked at Mu Chen, confused.

"Saving you was just because we’re from the same sect. Now that you’re safe, just leave when you’re rested." Mu Chen explained briefly, observing Zhao Xi’s confusion.

Upon hearing Mu Chen’s explanation, Zhao Xi paused, understanding Mu Chen’s meaning.

"I understand. Thank you both. We’ll leave shortly." He replied, turning back to join the other three.

Mu Chen glanced at Zhao Xi, then withdrew his gaze, no longer looking at them.

"Senior Brother Zhao, how was it? Did they tell you their names?" Luo Fenfen asked the moment Zhao Xi returned.

Zhao Xi shook his head. Faced with their confused gazes, he took a deep breath and said, "We’ve been saved. Rest for a bit and leave without disturbing them any further. We’ll remember their faces; they’re so remarkable that we’ll surely know their names someday. We’ll keep this gratitude in our hearts and repay them if possible in the future."

After Zhao Xi’s explanation, the others understood his point, nodded in silence.

They cast a glance at Jun Wu and Mu Chen before sitting nearby. Having been chased by the serpent for so long, they felt exhausted, now sitting on the ground, feeling extremely tired, taking out prepared elixirs and other items to restore strength and immortal power.

After resting for about fifteen minutes, the four stood up, silently bowed slightly towards Jun Wu and Mu Chen, and then turned to leave.

Once the four departed, Mu Chen and Jun Wu were also sufficiently rested.

"We’re all set, let’s move on." Mu Chen stood, tidying his clothes, addressing Jun Wu.

"Mm." Jun Wu nodded, also standing up, smoothing out the wrinkles in his clothes.

The two continued, following the hidden marks, searching for Gu Qingqing and the others.
