My Five Bigshot Seniors: I am The Most Coddled Junior!-Chapter 388 - 68: [First Update]
Rong Ye took the inner core of the Green-eyed Fire Cloud Beast and handed it to Gu Qingqing. She accepted it without a glance and then looked up at the nearby patch of Purple Cloud Flying Flowers.
"It’s fortunate that the fight just now didn’t damage this flower patch, or all our efforts would have been in vain." Seeing that most of the Purple Cloud Flying Flowers were unaffected by their battle with the Green-eyed Fire Cloud Beast, Gu Qingqing let out a sigh of relief.
Rong Ye and Gu Qingqing shared the same thought. They picked most of the Purple Cloud Flying Flowers, stored them in their Storage Bags, and then turned to leave the valley.
Zhang Mu and Feng Yang hadn’t gone far from the valley and could roughly hear the commotion inside. Several times, they considered rushing in to assist Gu Qingqing and Rong Ye, but remembering what Rong Ye said before entering, they restrained themselves, silently vowing to quickly improve their cultivation so as not to fall too far behind Gu Qingqing and Rong Ye!
Upon hearing footsteps, they quickly looked up to see Gu Qingqing and Rong Ye emerging from the valley and hurriedly approached them.
"Senior Sister Gu, Brother Rong, you didn’t—Brother Rong, you’re hurt?" Feng Yang’s voice rose suddenly, looking at Rong Ye in shock, his expression somewhat comical.
Gu Qingqing and Rong Ye were startled by his reaction, staring blankly at him, not understanding what was happening.
"Brother Rong, it’s all my fault for being useless. If my cultivation were higher, I could have helped you and Senior Sister Gu, and you wouldn’t have gotten hurt!" Feng Yang lamented, hitting his head, looking sorrowful and evidently regretful.
Gu Qingqing and Rong Ye exchanged a glance, not expecting such a sudden turn, finding it both amusing and frustrating.
"Alright, a man shouldn’t be troubled by a little injury." Rong Ye stepped forward, knocking away Feng Yang’s hand before he could hit himself again. "Since you think your cultivation is too low, train hard to help next time!"
Feng Yang, looking young and with a baby face, appeared even younger, his big eyes brimming with tears as he gazed at Rong Ye, the red mark on his forehead adding to his pitiful appearance.
"Brother Rong, you’re right. From now on, I will never slack off in my training when Master tells me to. I will cultivate diligently!" He suddenly became serious, speaking with great resolve.
Seeing this, Rong Ye couldn’t bring himself to discourage him and could only nod.
"We’ve already picked the Purple Cloud Flying Flowers and dealt with the Green-eyed Fire Cloud Beast. Take these bags of flowers," Gu Qingqing said, taking out two Storage Bags and handing them to Feng Yang and Zhang Mu.
Although neither of them contributed, Zhang Mu discovered the place and led them there. Since they had decided to let Zhang Mu and Feng Yang follow them, the higher their cultivation, the more beneficial it would be for them, so it was an investment.
"We can’t accept this." Zhang Mu shook his head firmly, thinking it inappropriate to accept something when he and Feng Yang had done nothing.
Feng Yang also shook his head, unwilling to accept the Storage Bags from Gu Qingqing.
"Enough, just take them both. Stop dawdling," Rong Ye said with a stern face, looking displeased.
Seeing Rong Ye like this, they hesitated momentarily and reluctantly accepted, more determined to follow Gu Qingqing and Rong Ye.
Seeing them accept the Storage Bags, Gu Qingqing and Rong Ye were finally somewhat satisfied.
"Let’s go and find more herbs," Rong Ye said, noticing there was still time before dark and decided not to waste it, so he resumed the journey.
The others naturally had no objections, and the four set off once more.
...
Jun Wu and Mu Chen followed the trail mark for half a day but found nothing, their initial excitement at discovering the trail gradually subsiding.
However, they never thought they could find Gu Qingqing and the others solely by the trail marks, knowing that Gu Qingqing and the others were also on the move, so meeting up relied partly on luck.
"Let’s take a break. We probably won’t catch up to Geng Geng and the others anytime soon," Mu Chen suggested after checking the time.
Since spotting the trail, they had been traveling without pause, not even stopping for water. Mu Chen worried that they might collapse before finding Gu Qingqing and the others.
Jun Wu considered Mu Chen’s recent recovery from serious injuries. Though it wasn’t obvious, he must still be uncomfortable, so Jun Wu agreed.
They found a clearing nearby, sat down, and took out prepared food and water, eating as they rested.
Just as Jun Wu finished eating the last bite of his pastry, hurried footsteps sounded nearby. He and Mu Chen looked up to see several figures running towards them, pursued by a dark red giant python.
"Brothers, help us!" one of the girls shouted joyfully upon spotting Jun Wu and Mu Chen.
The others noticed them too, calling for help, as the robes Jun Wu and Mu Chen wore clearly indicated they were Direct Disciples, whose cultivation was typically high given their status.
Mu Chen and Jun Wu’s expressions darkened as they observed the group.
There were four individuals, two wearing the green robes of the Bihai Heavenly Palace disciples, one in the black attire of Moon Shadow Pavilion, and one clad in Langya Immortal Sect elder disciple robes, evidently an impromptu team.
All had relatively low cultivation, the highest being a Langya Immortal Sect disciple of peak Heavenly Immortal Realm, while the others were at a high-level Heavenly Immortal Realm.
The giant python chasing them was likely at a low-level True Immortal Realm. It didn’t seem particularly formidable to Mu Chen and Jun Wu, yet it chased the four into a frantic escape.
If there were no Langya Immortal Sect disciple among them, they might have ignored them, given the less-than-harmonious relations between the four Immortal Sects. But they couldn’t stand idly by as their sect member faced danger.
"I’ll go." Worrying that Mu Chen wasn’t fully healed, Jun Wu clapped his hands and stood up, heading towards the group.
Mu Chen thought for a moment, deeming the low-level True Immortal python no threat to Jun Wu, and thus didn’t stop him, continuing to eat at a leisurely pace.
