Chapter 100: Chapter 52: Looking for Jun Wu [Part 3]

Nan Hua looked at the talisman in his hand, furrowing his brows, not expecting such a situation to arise. Helplessly, he carefully put the talisman away, closed his eyes, and released his Divine Sense to perceive the surroundings. As his Divine Sense spread continuously, he finally located a familiar figure ten miles away. After a moment of hesitation, his figure flashed and he flew towards that figure.

On a plain ten miles away from Nan Hua, Zhuo Tingqiu was struggling to fend off the gigantic ghost-faced spider in front of him.

The ghost-faced spider was close to three meters high, with four pairs of legs that were very robust and powerful. The bristles on its legs stood upright, giving a very sharp sensation. Its abdomen had eight green single eyes, arranged in two rows, looking terrifying.

Its back had a breastplate, and the patterns on it resembled a ghost face, hence the name.

Ghost-faced spiders generally had cultivation ranging from the sixth to the eighth level. Zhuo Tingqiu was relatively lucky to encounter one that was only at the peak of the sixth level, but the problem was that his own cultivation was also merely at the sixth level, and he was simply no match for the ghost-faced spider.

If it weren’t for the years he spent often with Gu Qingqing, indirectly receiving guidance from Si Lin and the others, which greatly improved his combat abilities, and also having some life-saving talismans and elixirs given by Rong Ye and others, he would have long been eaten by the ghost-faced spider.

Even so, he was finding it extremely challenging at that moment.

The legs of the ghost-faced spider were poisonous, and its silk was also highly toxic. He accidentally touched the spider web upon waking up and got poisoned. Even with the Detoxification Pill provided by Mu Chen, he felt that his Spiritual Power was severely obstructed, his vision began to blacken, and his body became limp, unable to muster any strength.

Seeing the ghost-faced spider spew another silk, Zhuo Tingqiu hurriedly tried to evade, but while his mind reacted, his body couldn’t keep up. He was a beat too slow and got entangled by the silk, instantly getting wrapped up.

He struggled hard, but the silk of the ghost-faced spider was extremely tenacious and sturdy. He couldn’t break free, and his struggling led to injuries in his exposed skin, accelerating the spread of the toxin.

His body turned limp and weak, his mind became drowsy, and eventually, he collapsed to the ground.

Seeing its prey entangled in its silk, the ghost-faced spider moved forward only after Zhuo Tingqiu fell to the ground. It approached Zhuo Tingqiu, ready to deliver him to its mouth. Suddenly, a streak of white light attacked, causing it to instinctively dodge and lose control over Zhuo Tingqiu.

Zhuo Tingqiu fell to the ground. At the moment before he lost consciousness, he saw a familiar figure and his heart relaxed, finally losing consciousness completely.

Nan Hua landed in front of Zhuo Tingqiu, glanced at the unconscious Zhuo Tingqiu, frowned, then turned his attention to the ghost-faced spider.

The ghost-faced spider, seeing that it was about to eat a delicious meal, didn’t expect a third party to suddenly intervene. It seemed that the human before it knew its prey, which made it somewhat angry.

"Tsk, I really can’t stand ugly things," Nan Hua said, moving his Glazed Frost Flower Fan in his hand, blinking at the eight single eyes on the ghost-faced spider’s abdomen, his face devoid of expression.

After a brief complaint, he didn’t wait for the ghost-faced spider to act and made the first move himself.

With a wave of the Glazed Frost Flower Fan, a strong wind blew towards the ghost-faced spider, causing its body to lean back. It exerted great force to avoid being toppled over.

Nan Hua floated in mid-air, forming seals with one hand and waving the Glazed Frost Flower Fan with the other. Several beams of light shot out from the fan’s tip, flying towards the ghost-faced spider.

Feeling threatened, the ghost-faced spider swiftly moved, trying to dodge the attacks. However, the beams seemed to have eyes, persistently following it. Forced to move within a limited range to evade, its legs and abdomen were hit, quickly showing wounds.

The most maddening thing for the ghost-faced spider was that one of its single eyes got punctured. Immediately, it spat out a strand of silk in an attempt to bind Nan Hua as it did with Zhuo Tingqiu earlier, only to be effortlessly dodged by Nan Hua.

Nan Hua reached above the ghost-faced spider, and the Glazed Frost Flower Fan transformed into a sword. He pierced down, skewering the ghost-faced spider straight through. But it wasn’t over; leveraging the force, he sliced forward, splitting the ghost-faced spider in two!

The body of the ghost-faced spider crashed to the ground with a thud. Nan Hua landed on the ground, flicking the blood off the sword. He approached Zhuo Tingqiu, sliced through the silk binding him with the sword’s tip, revealing Zhuo Tingqiu’s body.

Zhuo Tingqiu remained unconscious due to the poison, his face pale and lips black.

"Tsk, what a bother." Muttering, Nan Hua’s sword transformed back into the Glazed Frost Flower Fan. With a wave of his hand, the silk blew away, leaving Zhuo Tingqiu lying on the ground.

He glanced at Zhuo Tingqiu, then approached the ghost-faced spider. Finding a stick, he poked around inside the spider’s body, extracting a white sac-like object. Wrapping it in a large leaf, he returned to Zhuo Tingqiu’s side. Using a small knife, he cut open the white sac, pried Zhuo Tingqiu’s mouth open, and let the liquid from inside the sac flow into Zhuo Tingqiu’s mouth.

Luckily, Zhuo Tingqiu still managed to swallow, letting Nan Hua sigh in relief.

After finishing this, he checked Zhuo Tingqiu’s condition. Estimating that Zhuo Tingqiu wouldn’t wake up anytime soon, he took out an Array Plate. Upon activation, it encompassed both him and Nan Hua. From the Qiankun Ring, he took out a blanket, laid it on the ground, and sat down to meditate.

...

When Mu Chen awoke from the groggy feeling of teleportation, he found himself in a valley planted with various spirit flowers and herbs, all of high levels. Feeling the distinctly abundant Spiritual Energy in the valley, he immediately realized it was a valley specifically used for growing herbs.

After discovering this, his eyes immediately lit up.

As an Alchemist, his favorite things, of course, were various spirit flowers and herbs. Mu Chen was no exception. With so many in front of him now, how could he let it go?

However, he still remembered that he needed to find Gu Qingqing, so he didn’t start immediately. Instead, he closed his eyes, released his Divine Sense, and searched for Gu Qingqing’s whereabouts. His Divine Sense was the strongest among the five senior brothers, allowing him to search over the widest area. Yet, even with this advantage, he couldn’t find any trace of Gu Qingqing, so he gave up using his Divine Sense to search.

Opening his eyes, he took out a talisman that Rong Ye had given him from his Qiankun Ring. He input Spiritual Power into the talisman, but it showed no reaction. He frowned slightly, indicating that their distance was possibly too far, beyond the talisman’s range!

After some thought, he decided to quickly collect some spirit flowers and herbs before going to find Gu Qingqing.

Having made up his mind, he immediately took out a glove and a medicine hoe from his Qiankun Ring and began working.

His speed was quick. Those spirit flowers and herbs were preserved completely by him and stored in the Qiankun Ring. Moreover, he didn’t collect all of them, leaving some of each type.

Half an hour later, satisfied, he stood up, put away the glove and medicine hoe, chose a direction, and swiftly departed.

...

Jun Wu had not yet recovered from the dizziness of teleportation when he felt a gust of wind, tinged with a fishy smell, heading towards him. His body reacted before his mind, dodging to the side and avoiding the wind.

When he opened his eyes, he found an Iron Armor Rhinoceros staring at him menacingly from not far away. On his other side was a cliff, fortunately, he had chosen to dodge to the left; otherwise, he might have fallen off the cliff.

He quickly surveyed the surroundings and found no trace of Gu Qingqing and the others, causing him to furrow his brow in dissatisfaction at not being with Gu Qingqing, and his mood instantly worsened.

At that moment, the Iron Armor Rhinoceros could not wait any longer and charged at him.

This Iron Armor Rhinoceros was only sixth order, not Jun Wu’s match; he quickly killed it and stood by its corpse, hurriedly taking out the talisman and injecting Spiritual Power into it.

Fortunately, the runes on the talisman lit up.

"Jun Wu, is that you?" Rong Ye did not expect that apart from Gu Qingqing, the only person to contact him would be Jun Wu, causing him some surprise.

"It’s me, where is Qingqing?" Knowing that only Rong Ye could see their location, Jun Wu asked directly.

"Qingqing is with me," Rong Ye glanced at Gu Qingqing, who was looking this way beside him, "Let me check how far you are from us."

The Heavenly Awakening Record was opened by him, and soon, he saw Jun Wu’s location, which appeared to be a certain distance away from them.

"Stay there, Qingqing and I will come find you." The situation in the Secret Realm was unknown; having an extra person meant additional support. Rong Ye did not mind Jun Wu at this time and said directly.

"Alright, please protect Qingqing." Jun Wu really wanted to go find Gu Qingqing himself, but he didn’t know where Gu Qingqing was, and his Divine Sense wasn’t strong enough to cover a wide range, so he could only wait for Rong Ye and the others to come find him, yet he couldn’t help but urge Rong Ye.

"Of course, this young master will certainly take good care of Qingqing." Rong Ye raised an eyebrow, dissatisfied with Jun Wu’s words and directly cut off the communication with Jun Wu.

He turned around and looked at Nalan Xin.

"We are going to find a friend now. Do you want to come with us or go your own way?" Initially, thinking they had lost contact with the others, they planned to stay here, so bringing Nalan Xin along was no issue. Now that they had contacted Jun Wu, whether to bring Nalan Xin along became a question.

"I-I’ll go with you guys, is that okay?" Nalan Xin felt that Rong Ye’s temper wasn’t the best. Though Rong Ye treated Gu Qingqing well, she was very cautious in her tone when speaking to Rong Ye, seemingly genuinely afraid of him.

"It’s okay, I suppose." Rong Ye did not expect Nalan Xin to be so afraid of him, his mouth twitched slightly as he replied.

"Don’t worry, I’ll try my best not to hold you back!" Hearing this, Nalan Xin immediately stood up, raised her right hand in assurance.

Rong Ye and Gu Qingqing glanced at her and nodded.

To travel, obviously, one needs a means of transport. Rong Ye directly took out a small Flying Boat from his Qiankun Ring. It seemed to accommodate four to five people, perfect for the trio including Gu Qingqing.
