Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Possession

Caleb Rhodes kissed her forcefully, his movements chaotic and frantic. Nina Wynn felt like he was practically gnawing on her.

She was startled, thinking he wanted to do something right here.

She didn’t have the courage for that, nor could she accept doing something like that in a place like this.

But he had her pinned against the wall, her hands restrained. She couldn’t push him away at all.

When she saw his other hand begin to roam over her body, she panicked and bit down hard on his lip.

Caleb Rhodes winced in pain, pausing for a moment before releasing Nina Wynn.

He stared at her grimly, his slender fingers slowly brushing the corner of his lip where she had broken the skin. His voice was cold. "Stay away from Zyler Rhodes!"

Seeing the way Zyler Rhodes had looked at her, he suddenly regretted bringing her here today.

He knew exactly what that look meant.

It was the unabashed possessiveness of a man for a woman!

He had previously placed Zyler Rhodes by her side to keep other men away. Besides, Zyler used to be a typical rich playboy and likely had no genuine feelings for Nina Wynn.

But after Nina Wynn’s car accident, Zyler Rhodes seemed to have become a completely different person. He had not only searched frantically for Nina everywhere but had even gotten into a huge argument with Crystal Rhodes and Leo Rhodes over it.

This was also why Leo Rhodes was trying every trick in the book to drive Nina Wynn away.

Caleb Rhodes, however, had no interest in what Leo thought. Anyone with designs on Nina Wynn would not be allowed to remain near her.

’Therefore, Zyler Rhodes can no longer stay in Elysian City.’

Nina Wynn was also a little breathless, not understanding why his expression had changed so suddenly. However, she didn’t want to provoke him right now.

She said meekly, "Okay, I won’t talk to him."

She reached out to straighten Caleb Rhodes’s collar and said softly, "Uncle, they said a lot of people are waiting for you to start the meeting. You should go."

Seeing how well-behaved she was, Caleb Rhodes felt some of his anger dissipate.

He tilted her chin up and said in a low voice, "Stay here in my office. Don’t go anywhere. Call me if you need anything."

Nina Wynn agreed in a small voice, "Okay."

Only then did Caleb Rhodes leave.

The moment he stepped out, he saw Zyler Rhodes standing outside, trying to peer into the room.

It was obvious he was looking for Nina Wynn.

Caleb Rhodes said coldly, "Why didn’t you take care of that matter I sent you back to Elysian City for yesterday?"

Zyler Rhodes answered, still trying to look inside, "It wasn’t anything major. I just called the certification office and had my secretary handle it."

"Zyler Rhodes!" Caleb Rhodes’s tone suddenly turned sharp. "With an attitude like that, I will never hand the Rhodes Family over to you!"

Zyler Rhodes flinched and quickly looked away. He said seriously, "No, that’s not it, Uncle. It wasn’t difficult. I made a call, a friend of mine made the arrangements, and my secretary just needs to go pick everything up."

He hadn’t even finished speaking when he saw Caleb Rhodes staring coldly at him.

The gaze was sharp and ruthless, filled with a clear warning!

Under that stare, Zyler Rhodes began to panic.

He had idolized Caleb Rhodes since he was a boy, so naturally, he feared him too.

In his mind, Caleb Rhodes was as powerful as a god.

All his life, he had heard stories of Caleb Rhodes’s incredible, earth-shattering accomplishments.

Despite being only six or seven years older, Caleb Rhodes had taken over the Nash Group at eighteen and led it to its zenith by the time he was twenty.

The smooth-sailing political careers of the family patriarch and his own father, Leo Rhodes, were due in no small part to the influence of the Nash Group.

To put it bluntly, the Rhodes Family’s current power was half due to the patriarch’s high-ranking position, and the other half was thanks to the immense financial backing from the major corporations Caleb Rhodes controlled.

It was no exaggeration to say that if Caleb Rhodes made even the slightest move with the industries under his control, it would send significant shockwaves through half of Celestria’s economy. Calling him the leader of Celestria’s new generation of business titans was not an overstatement.

Naturally, Zyler Rhodes never dared to be insolent in front of Caleb Rhodes. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

He could barely meet Caleb’s eyes. "Uncle, I’ll get it done. From now on, I’ll personally handle everything you ask of me."

With a grim expression, Caleb Rhodes turned and walked toward the conference room.

Zyler Rhodes followed behind him, not daring to speak.

’He didn’t really get it. It was such a minor thing. Why would his usually cold and composed uncle fly into such a rage?’

’But he didn’t have time to dwell on it, because the upcoming meeting was extremely important.’

This meeting would determine the entire economic trajectory of Aethelburg for the next three to five years, and many of the attendees were prominent figures from Elysian City.

’He’d just have to bring up that other matter with Caleb Rhodes later.’

While the meeting was in full swing, Nina Wynn was all alone in the desolate-feeling office.

It was her first time at Caleb Rhodes’s office. ’It’s so grand!’

The office alone was easily over a hundred square meters and even had an attached lounge and kitchen.

Moreover, the window directly across from her offered a vast, beautiful view of a lake and snow-dusted weeping willows.

’So beautiful!’

But none of this meant anything to her. She looked carefully at the cars parked below.

’It seems a lot of the cars that arrived today have Elysian City license plates. And there are so many police cars and guards at the entrance. There must be some very important people here.’

She stared blankly at the cars for a moment before taking out her phone and dialing a number.

After speaking quietly for a while, she hung up and sent out a few text messages.

A moment later, she received a reply. She grabbed her purse and pulled the door open.

Unexpectedly, two guards armed with live firearms were standing outside the door.

The moment Nina Wynn stepped out, one of them snapped to attention, saluted, and said sternly, "Miss Wynn, President Rhodes has given orders. You are not to leave this room, and no one is to be allowed in!"

Although she was used to seeing armed guards at the Rhodes estate, the sudden appearance of two posted right in front of her was still unnerving for Nina Wynn.

’She knew it was pointless to reason with them; their only job was to follow orders.’

Nina Wynn took out her phone and dialed Caleb Rhodes’s number.

After a long moment, the call finally connected. His voice was low. "Nina?"

Nina Wynn bit her lip and said softly, "Uncle, can I come watch your meeting?"

There was a pause on the other end, his tone deep and cool. "Is Nina unhappy all by herself?"

Nina Wynn hummed softly in agreement. "Mm, I miss you... and the heating in here isn’t very good. My fingers are starting to hurt."

This was a newly constructed office building being used as a temporary workspace, so the furnishings were spartan, and the heating was indeed inadequate.

Caleb Rhodes said, "Don’t move from the doorway. I’ll have someone come get you."

A moment later, a tall, composed man walked quickly over from another corridor.

He said to Nina Wynn, "Miss Wynn, I’m President Rhodes’s assistant, Hugh Collins. Please come with me."

As he spoke, he nodded to the two guards, signaling that they could let her pass.

Hugh Collins settled Nina Wynn in a small anteroom next to the conference room. Separated by only a single wall, she could clearly hear the sounds coming from inside.

Through a small window set in the wall, Nina Wynn watched Caleb Rhodes in the conference hall for a long, long time.
