My Disciples are Too Idiotic-Chapter 440 - 302: Charge, Onward Players! (Request for Subscription)_2
There was no harm caused, so it shouldn’t be radioactive energy.
If this kind of energy truly is a signal, then what sort of existence would be receiving this signal?
No, that’s not right!
Science Supreme shook his head and said, "This shouldn’t be a transmission of a signal, but rather an energy connection!"
With that, he picked up a pen and paper and began to draw, while also explaining his hypothesis to those around him.
"Let’s assume there’s a mysterious existence, um... let’s just call it Boss. The relationship between this Boss and the Nightmare should be that of parent and child, with the Nightmare originating from the Boss and also relying on the Boss’s energy to survive."
Science Supreme pointed at the drawing and said, "This line represents the path of energy transfer, which is the energy fluctuation we just observed. So in reality, the Nightmare is surviving on the energy transmitted by the Boss. More precisely, the Nightmare Core comes from that Boss!" 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
As he explained, the other White Coat Players began to argue.
"That’s not right. This has to be a process of energy transformation. The Nightmare Core is not absorbing or emitting energy, but transmitting a signal!"
"I think Teacher is correct. It should be energy transfer, sustaining the Nightmare with this force."
"Whether it’s energy transfer or energy transformation, the current issue is where exactly this energy is coming from."
"Yes, yes, yes, we should figure out what exactly the Boss is!"
...
A group of mad scientists began to quarrel, and Iron-blooded War Hero found it hard to bear, deciding to leave with his people first. Once these people started arguing, it wouldn’t stop for hours. Science... In this Ghostly Place, you talk about science, and with such authoritative analysis? Truly a group of mad researchers.
After Iron-blooded War Hero left, he approached another group of players who were researching Demon Runes and race transformation, as they were keen on changing their race. For this purpose, they had even recruited several test subjects from the Fifth Test Players and began their research tirelessly, day and night.
Unfortunately for the Veteran Players, changing races was somewhat difficult. Fifth Test Players could freely choose their race, but it wasn’t so easy for the Veteran Players. After all, if they wanted to change races, they had to rely on the House of Evolution’s research. Otherwise, becoming Demonic Beings or Half-Yao would be a waste of time. They might gain combat power, but in the end, their power would never match that of a perfect Demon Race or Yao Race.
"Brother Tie Xue!"
Flourishing Flowers, accompanied by Chaotic Dance Steps, approached. Seeing the group still engrossed in research, Flourishing Flowers signaled Iron-blooded War Hero to step outside with them to talk, so as not to disturb the other players. He knew the deal with these mad scientists and preferred to avoid provoking them.
Once Iron-blooded War Hero led them out, he asked with some confusion, "You aren’t clearing new territory, so why have you come to me?"
"We’ve already started the clearing, but we’ve encountered some local natives," Flourishing Flowers replied.
He continued softly, "Those natives are ordinary people with absolutely no power to speak of. Even their methods of dealing with wild beasts involve the most primitive tools."
There are natives in these mountain ranges? Iron-blooded War Hero was taken aback.
The Players currently had no significant progress. They could only rely on clearing out wild beasts to earn Contribution Points. However, the appearance of local natives could change things. The emergence of natives was accompanied by Tasks, and every Task carried a large Reward. Understanding the situation of the Fifth Test Version was, therefore, most crucial.
"What’s the situation? Explain clearly," Iron-blooded War Hero asked impatiently.
"Our Cloud Lament members ventured deeper to clear new territory and discovered a Cave on a mountaintop. At first, we didn’t think much of it. But as other Players explored, they found people in the Cave—quite a few, in fact!" Flourishing Flowers elaborated.
Chaotic Dance Steps explained, "The Cave we visited is called the Liu Family. Inside, there are over a thousand people. They worship something they call an Ancient God, and it’s by the grace of this Ancient God that they have survived until now.
"From what we speculate, these people must have come to this mountain range a long time ago. They don’t know the specifics, but their Cave Master seems to know about us and privately inquired with our people about Cultivators.
"We also secretly contacted him. After some inquiries, we learned the true secrets of this mountain range! Within the entire range, there are many such Caves, inhabited by the Human Race, Yao Race, and Demon Race. Life is not easy for any of them.
"Even those from the Yao Race and Demon Race are terrified of death, clinging to life, and utterly clueless about how to utilize their demonic or yao bodies. According to that Cave Master, these people have thoroughly submitted to the so-called Ancient God, without even the thought of rebellion."
As Chaotic Dance Steps finished speaking, Iron-blooded War Hero’s brow furrowed deeply. They knew too little about the Fifth Test Version. Without the help of Non-player Characters, it was like walking on thin ice. Now, this mountain range was home not only to those strange wild monsters but also to some mysterious objects. Antarctic had previously returned and mentioned an Ancient Temple; apparently, merely touching it would result in instant, forced death!
"Are you sure that NPC told the truth? That there are quite a few of their kind—these ordinary Non-player Characters—in this mountain range?" Iron-blooded War Hero seemed to have his own concerns and couldn’t help but confirm again.
Flourishing Flowers quickly nodded. "Confirmed. Dung Beetle and the others have also discovered a Cave and have already started making contact with the people inside."
Hearing that Dung Beetle’s team had also made a discovery, Iron-blooded War Hero hesitated no longer. "What’s your plan? To team up?"
"Definitely team up," Flourishing Flowers said with a smile. "We just want to understand the situation in the Fifth Test. It’s a win-win for everyone. That Cave Master Liu can meet with us at any time, but we have to go to their place. After all, he is the Master of the Cave and cannot easily leave. He’s like their pillar of support, their mainstay."
Mainstay? Makes sense. With thousands of people in a Cave, losing their mainstay would indeed likely lead to chaos. So, it was better to take the initiative at this stage.
"Fine, I’ll go with you. Have you cleared the wild monsters along the way? Do you need help from our War Alliance?" Iron-blooded War Hero had made his decision, intending to go and inquire personally.
Flourishing Flowers explained, "Brother Tie Xue, don’t worry. The Players have already started to delve deeper, and other groups are keeping an eye on some of the surrounding Wild Bosses. The route is definitely safe."
After all, no one wanted to waste time clearing wild monsters. Since the Fifth Test Players enjoyed such tasks, let them handle the clearing. The Veteran Players’ goal was those Bosses!
Cloud Lament and Wood Leaf Village weren’t the only ones aware of Non-player Characters in the mountain range; other factions had also discovered them. The Caves of the Yao Race and Demon Race were especially attractive. Players who wanted to switch races had a particular fondness for the Yao Race and Demon Race, almost desperate to bring all of them back.
The prices offered by the House of Evolution weren’t low. They could earn some Contribution Points by bringing these Yao Race and Demon Race members back. Of course, to them, this wasn’t trafficking. It was simply mutual assistance. Everyone involved was supposedly willing! Yes, completely willing!
Within the Second Legion, I, Xuanqing, had now retired to a supporting role, becoming an ordinary player. Half-Leaf and Half-Leaf’s father had taken over the entire Legion. After discovering another Yao Race Cave, they were among the first to bring supplies, intending to establish a good relationship with its inhabitants. The Yao Race members were naturally wary of them, but faced with a large amount of supplies, they gradually let down their guard.
They weren’t the only ones; Celestial Realm and Lingxiao Hall were also employing this tactic. Besides Wood Leaf Village clearing a Wild Boss, Lingxiao Hall had also taken down one.
As the wild monsters in the mountain range were cleared, many Players began to make contact with Non-player Characters. The Fifth Test Version was filled with unknowns. For everyone, prying information from these NPCs was the only way to understand the specifics of this new version. Those eerie wild monsters indeed presented major problems, and some bizarre pieces of Equipment also stirred everyone’s excitement...
