Chapter 744

The young forest elves joined Anton and Enoril as they ate dinner. Anton knew that the “teenagers” of the forest elves gravitated toward him whenever he was around because he was the new cool thing that arrived in their kingdom recently. The fact that the movies that he brought opened the eyes of the young forest elves to a life full of grand adventure without needing to leave their home forest titillated them greatly.

Before Anton arrived, they told him that the young forest elves entertained themselves through music, theater plays, or mini-adventures in the surrounding area, but most found that kind of activity boring, especially when compared to what they believed their prodigious abilities. Because of their young age, they were not even allowed to enter the dungeon. They could only do so when they came of age, which, according to Enoril, would be around 40 years old. Not only that, they would be protected by the older, more powerful elves.

The fact that Anton had experienced a life filled with adventure when he was not yet twenty years old amazed the young elven folks. They knew that humans grew faster, but even though they were inexperienced, they knew that what Anton had experienced was not the norm and could already qualify to be written as a grand adventure poem or ballad.

While Anton was eating, the young elves pestered him about what kind of film he would be showing the next day, but Anton just smiled at them and kept reiterating that it would be a surprise. Even Enoril, who had heard from Anton the kind of movie franchises that Anton shared with them like the one about the boy wizard who grew up thinking he was normal, or about the series of movies of a young man’s grand adventure in space, but Anton kept his mouth shut, since looking at the young forest elves who were getting antsy amused him greatly.

After dinner, they gathered in one of the many parks in the kingdom to continue hanging out. Anton told the forest elves the situation regarding the Undead Coalition’s attack on the nearby kingdoms, like the fall of Mendoza, and how New Drennor was infiltrated by the undead and was able to claim a small territory inside New Drennor. He told them that once he was powerful enough, he would wage war on the undead.

The young forest elves, who did not know the full situation that was happening outside the forest was surprised by the information that Anton was sharing. They knew that the undead attacked some of the kingdoms in the Gale Continent, but like most ordinary citizens, they thought that Ormunda and New Drennor were powerful enough not to take the Coalition seriously and did not give the undead too much thought, even though the information was shared to everyone that a lot of kingdoms and cities in the continent of Rendindura was conquered by the undead. Not only that, but everyone was also aware that the kingdom of Mendoza had also fallen into the hands of the undead in such a short amount of time.

Anton knew that the disregard was due to the history of the powerful kingdoms of New Drennor and Ormunda. In its millennia of existence, the two kingdoms had experienced several attempts to conquer them, but all had failed.

When Anton finally saw how truly huge New Drennor was, he finally started to believe the same as the ordinary citizens of both kingdoms. That the two kingdoms were powerful enough to stop the Coalition. He thought that he would finally have the time to grow, but then the news that the undead managed to carve out a territory in New Drennor brought home the fact that Anton could not rest and must continue to strive for power.

Anton had a very lazy personality. He knew in his heart that he would have preferred to just go about his life, sharing movies, television shows, anime, novels, manga, and other otaku stuff from Earth to the people of this world in the hopes that the Otaku Culture would grow, and he would finally be a part of something that he loved. He could not do so while he was on Earth simply because of his lack of finances, but here, he could indulge himself. Unfortunately, that would probably remain a dream, at least for now. Anton did not lose hope, though, and thought maybe someday, there would be peace enough so he could indulge himself fully in the Otaku culture.

Since the young forest elves were young enough to be hot-blooded, they mindlessly promised Anton that they would help him fight the invaders. Their statements full of youth and mindless vigor made Enoril nervous, but the elf calmed down when he saw that Anton was not taking the young elves' declarations seriously.

The young elves kept reiterating that what was happening outside the forest was like the humans invading Pandora. That it was all living creatures in the Gale Continent’s responsibility to destroy the undead or, at the very least, drive them away.

Anton almost laughed out loud when he saw the sparkle in the eyes of all the young elves there. He could see that even Enoril was starting to get affected. They were probably imagining themselves as the main hero in some grand adventure movie.

“When you all start fighting the undead, do you want me to take a video of your fights and make our own Avatar films? What would the title of our movies be?” Anton asked everyone with a smile.

The young elves then shifted their attention to what the title of their movie would be. Some suggested the title to be as simple as “Forest Elves” just like “Avatar”, but the others did not agree since they thought that the simple title was not dramatic enough. The title suggestion became more complicated, and no one noticed that Anton was incredibly amused at everyone’s behavior.

Anton realized that probably every teenager of every species would behave the same way. Someone then suddenly suggested, what if they make their own movie? They could purchase a magic item recorder, act out a play, and record it. They would use magic as their special effects. The thought excited the elves so much, especially when somebody announced that he could create a script and even boasted that it would be as good as Avatar or The Lord of the Rings.

The young elves' imagination of successfully creating a movie galvanized them so much that they all immediately ran off to start the movie-making project. They all left Anton and Enoril there, who looked flabbergasted at their actions.

“First, they want to fight the undead to fulfill their desire to become a main hero in the movie in their mind, then they run off to create movies,” Anton laughed, and Enoril just sighed and shook his head, commenting on how brainless young people were.

Anton then said to Enoril that, at the very least, he had diverted everyone’s attention from running off to fight the undead.

After that, Anton went home to the guest house assigned to him to rest. He was a little exhausted. He had been very busy that day. In the morning, he was worried that his father had been captured by the wizards of Ormunda because of his portal, and when that was settled, he learned that the Undead Coalition managed to carve out a territory inside the powerful kingdom of New Drennor. His emotions that day were like a roller coaster, so soon after lying down his head on his pillow, intending to watch a sitcom, Anton immediately fell asleep.
