Chapter 729

“I like the soft songs that you sang earlier. Especially the one about a fair. What was the name of that fair again? Scarborough fair, I think,” Enoril said while they were walking toward the guest house assigned to Anton.

Anton understood that some of the elves were partial to the folk songs from Earth’s earlier era. Probably because the songs from that era focused more on social meaning and some philosophical ideas, but of course, he was just theorizing. More than likely, just like humans, every elf likes different genres of music.

There were still several hours before it was time for the movie-watching. When he reached the house, Anton thought of spending the time inside his Diablo System, leveling up his characters, but he was feeling lazy, so instead, he spent the time binge-watching The Big Bang Theory.

About an hour before Enoril arrived to lead him to the hall where the movies were being shown, Anton decided to visit the Rose Manor for a few minutes. He used a Town Portal Scroll, and the moment he was back, he cast the Blizzard spell converted into Mana Rain immediately. As expected, within a minute, everyone arrived.

Alfred interrupted everyone and ran to Anton. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

“Anton! I love Naruto! My friends and I could not stop watching it! Can you give me the next episodes?!” Alfred shouted.

“Stop shouting,” Anton said to the kid and immediately gave Alfred the next ten episodes of the anime.

Alfred immediately ran off. Luna greeted him, shrugged, and immediately followed her brother.

“I can’t stay long. I just want to make sure that you know I’m doing fine,” Anton told his father and sister.

“Are you still staying in the kingdom of the Forest Elves?” Anton’s father asked.

“Yes. They liked the Avatar films so much that I’m now allowed to buy things from them. I ordered a lot of furniture, since it looked to me that the forest elves are unrivaled when it came to creating wooden things. I’m also hoping that after a few more movies, they will allow me to purchase some of their unique spells. Their weather and plant control spells are great!” Anton said.

“Do you need coins?” Anders asked.

“No. I’ll be trading copies of all the movies that I’ve already shown to them,” Anton excitedly told his father and sister.

After a few more minutes of talking to his family, Anton immediately left to return to the forest kingdom.

Once Anton was gone, Anna turned to Anders.

“Why didn’t you tell Anton that the Undead Coalition managed to infiltrate a portion of New Drennor?” Anna asked Anders quietly.

“According to the news, the coalition only conquered around ten percent of the kingdom, and New Drennor’s mages are doing their best for the Coalition to remain in that ten percent. Anton is currently enjoying himself traveling the Northern Forest. I don’t want him to return to someone who felt like he had to shoulder the problem of this world. Once he learned that, for some reason, New Drennor failed to defend their kingdom a little, we both knew that Anton would probably go back to being dark and grim all the time, always thinking about how to defeat the undead or planning on how to survive once we needed to run from this place. I just wanted him to have more time to be happy, and his adventure in the forest was helping with that,” Anders told his daughter.

“I thought we would finally have the time. I thought that the Undead Coalition couldn't fight with the giant kingdom like New Drennor, since that was what my teachers in the academy told me. The fact that the coalition managed to eke out a territory on New Drennor was a huge blow to everyone,” Anna sighed.

Anders sighed as well and told Raymond, who was beside them, to avoid telling Anton the news about New Drennor when he returned. The butler assured Anders that no one in the manor would share that information with Anton. Everyone in the manor wanted Anton to continue being happy with his adventure. He had been the backbone of Rose Manor, and because of him, everyone there was living a good life.

Back in the forest, Anton waited for a bit to check if some of the elves would come to ask questions about his use of the portal. He did give a reason the first time he used a Town Portal Scroll, that he needed to use such spells to access the movies that were being presented to them.

After a few minutes of waiting, Anton was thankful that no one arrived. He knew that the forest elves probably detected his spell, but would assume that it was related to movies. He returned to binge-watching The Big Bang Theory until Enoril arrived to fetch him.

They ate dinner first, but did not linger, and went to the building where the movies were being shown. The third Avatar film was finally shown to the elves, and after the movie was done, they also wanted to watch the “Making-of” video of the movie.

Once the video ended, the nobles asked questions about the next movie franchise that Anton promised to show them. Anton did not want to explain about the Lord of the Rings movies. Instead, he showed them the trailers for the trilogy.

At first, Anton thought that the forest elves would disdain the films since the movies were set in a fantasy world, but instead, everyone was still intrigued. The fact that Anton told them that there were no other races in the dimension where the movies came from, and that their depiction of elves, dwarves, hobbits, and other races was solely born from the imagination of the authors of the books where the movies came from, truly fascinated the elves instead. Especially when they learned that the next franchise was Anton’s favorite films.

After that, Anton returned to the guest house, but that night, instead of Enoril, he was followed by the beautiful Nemerielle and Andevon. What happened next was a night Anton would not forget. There was just one thing he would say. The elves were great at what they do. Thankfully, he had learned the spell that prevented conception since he still did not want to sire a progeny. Nemerielle and Andevon assured him that they had the means to prevent such things, but in his opinion, it was better to be safe than sorry.

When morning arrived, Nemerielle and Andevon woke Anton, but they immediately ran off while giggling. He hoped that he would still have the chance to sleep with them again.

Enoril arrived to invite him for breakfast. While they were walking, Enoril smiled at Anton knowingly, and Anton just laughed. While they were eating, they were joined by a lot of the elves who were there. They kept asking about the Lord of the Rings films, and everyone kept saying that they could not wait for night to arrive so they could see the film, especially when Anton kept promising that the Lord of the Rings films were the best.

Anton wondered why he still thought of The Lord of the Rings as the best movie. He thought that since he was already living in a fantasy world, the allure of LOTR would fade, but instead, it remained the best for him. He realized that it was not just the fact that the movies were set in a fantasy world, but also because of the story itself. The only thing Anton could say was that the author was a truly great story crafter.
