My Favorite Game Followed Me!-Chapter 685
Chapter 685
The next day, after breakfast, Anton told Raymond, the family butler, that he would be visiting Anna at her school to check about confirming his status as a Supreme Wizard. Essentially, he wanted to determine if Anna’s school would be able to sponsor him. Anders was still in the dungeon and would be back, possibly tomorrow or the day after, and that meant that Anton should be back at home before his father arrived.
Anna’s school was fairly far from the Rose Manor. It would take Anton a couple of hours on a carriage to get there. By the time he arrived at the academy, it was already mid-morning.
Anton was a little worried, though, since he did not have any sort of invitation and just decided to visit. He hoped that Anna’s school would not ask him to return after scheduling him or something.
As expected, one of the guards at the gate asked him if he had a meeting scheduled with one of the professors. Anton told the man that his sister was one of the students in the academy and would like to visit her and her teacher for something important. Thankfully, the guard did not give him any hard time and just asked him to wait while he informed someone of his request.
After waiting for thirty minutes, Anna appeared with a huge smile on her face.
“Anton! Thanks for visiting. Normally, families are not allowed to visit, but since you’re a mage yourself, they allowed me to invite you in.” Anna happily hugged him.
“I know, since you did tell us that. That’s why Father and I had not visited you.”
Anna then whispered to Anton.
“Actually, the main reason why they allowed you inside was that my teacher wanted to know more about the legendary spear that you gave me. She was still flabbergasted by its ability to allow me to memorize spells at an exaggeratedly short amount of time, causing my rank to shoot up.”
“I hoped your teacher kept that spear’s abilities secret.”
“She did. We both knew that if it got out, some of the academy wizards would try their best to confiscate it. She knew that if the school did something like that, it would cause bad blood towards our family and the school. Of course, the school isn’t afraid of our tiny family. It’s just that the teacher said that it would be best to make sure that the relationship remained cordial, since the fact that you’re able to conjure such a powerful weapon meant that you could conjure more interesting things.”
“Thank the divines for that. Actually, the reason I’m here was not just to visit you. I wanted to check if the school could help me confirm my status as a Supreme Rank wizard.”
Anna gasped when he heard that Anton had reached the Supreme rank.
“My teacher told me that with the help of the spear, I would reach the archmage rank in a year. I thought that I would be able to catch up to you! Come to think of it, it was a little silly. The spear came from you, and even without it, the rate at which you memorize spells should be exceedingly fast.”
Anton rolled his eyes.
“Have you forgotten that I’m not using spells to increase my rank but have my own unique magic?”
“I remember, but you also told me that you can use the standard magic. That meant that you can use spell memorization in tandem with your magic to increase your rank. Are you doing that?”
When Anton answered Anna that he was not using that process, his sister asked him why not. He admitted that it simply did not enter his mind, and more than likely, the gain that he would get would be minimal compared to just focusing on his unique magic.
“Don’t underestimate my bloodline magic. I might reach the Invincible rank before you reach the archmage rank.”
Anna sniffed when Anton declared that. While they were walking towards Supreme Munetta, who was Anna’s teacher, he asked his sister if the academy would assist him in confirming his Supreme rank status, and Anna replied that she did not know.
Inside Supreme Munetta’s office, Anton told Anna’s teacher his reason for visiting the academy.
“The academy can assist you in confirming you as an official Supreme Rank wizard, but it is going to be a very long and tedious process,” Supreme Munetta said, and Anton kept listening.
“First, you will need to undergo several tests. I imagined that the practical test, like spellcasting ability and combat, would be easy for you since you’re a combat specialist, but the other tests, I think, you would find difficult because they pertained to knowledge you simply did not have based on your family history. The test would include wizard etiquette, history of wizardry in Ormunda, history of wizardry in the Gale Continent, and the rest of the world, as well as general knowledge in all sorts of studies like mathematics, geometry, and all those things that young people would find tedious,” Supreme Munetta said.
Anton was discouraged, and he did not hide it. Anna looked horrified since she knew that Anton would simply not be able to pass those kinds of tests, at least without studying.
“We can dispense with all of that and have you immediately confirmed as one of the academy’s Supreme Wizards,” Supreme Munetta smiled.
Anton and Anna waited for the other shoe to fall.
“According to Anna, you made that legendary spear. Give it to us, and we’ll confirm your status. We would even allow Anna to keep using it until she doesn’t want to anymore. We can even keep it a secret that the weapon came from you,” Anna’s teacher said, but Anton resolutely shook his head.
Supreme Munetta waited for a couple of minutes to check if Anton would change his mind, but when he did not, Anna’s teacher sighed.
“Or you can just use wealth. You can give the academy five million gold coins or two hundred high-level mana stones.”
Anna gasped, but Anton smiled with relief.
“That’s easy enough. I’ll just give you 200 high-level mana stones.”
“You managed to collect that amount of high-level mana stones?! I thought you were busy fighting against the undead when you were in Mendoza and the fortified town between Mendoza and New Drennor?!,” Anna exclaimed.
“I collected around 300 high-level mana stones before the undead attacked Mendoza,” Anton admitted.
“Is your father going to be fine with that decision?” Supreme Munetta asked.
“Of course. I was the one who collected those, and Father can now delve the high-level dungeon as well, so he should have his own mana stone earnings. Our family also had profitable businesses, and they didn’t need my mana stones,” Anton said, and Anna’s teacher just nodded.
“Can we complete it today?” Anton asked.
“Did you bring your mana stones with you?” Munetta asked.
“No, but I can have the family butler bring it,” Anton said, and Supreme Munetta nodded.
“You can stay in Anna’s room together with her roommates while waiting for your butler.”
The siblings knew that they had been dismissed, so they left Anna’s teacher’s office to go to her room.
“Are you not supposed to be studying?”
“Today is a self-study day, which we usually spend memorizing spells. This type of schedule happened twice a week,” Anna said.
When they entered Anna’s room, her roommates and friends were there. Avina, Normumu, and Alethea were busy memorizing spells and were surprised when they saw Anton.
