Chapter 661

The moment they stepped on the beach, they saw that there were several people already there catching the sun and enjoying the breeze. A few people were in the ocean, enjoying the pristine blue waters. Anton was thankful that the weather cooperated with them since the only clouds visible in the sky were far in the horizon.

There were several large beach umbrellas and towels on the sand, and for a brief moment, Anton felt that he was back on any beach on Earth. All of the men were wearing short trousers reminiscent of Earth’s men’s swimsuits, and the ladies' beach apparel was all over the place. Some were modest, and some were as revealing as any female on Earth would wear.

Most of the people on the sand and the water were young people. Anton noticed that the older ones, probably the parents of the young people on the beach, congregated in the hotel, holding wine glasses and talking to each other. He could hear music from a band playing in the background. There were several different-sized bungalows on the beach, but they were tastefully hidden by vegetation.

Anton and his four new apprentices, slash employees, jumped on the water, leaving Tessa and her parents on the beach. At first, Tess tried to follow, but she could not catch up with the speed of the boys. Anton used his Telekinesis to hasten his swim, and once he was far enough away, he dove deep down. He wanted to see the view underwater, and because of his massive physical stats, he was able to hold his breath for several minutes.

Kirk and the other three guys were not able to follow Anton because of his speed. They remained near the beach. Once he was deep enough, Anton finally found the view that he was looking for. The sea floor was full of different colored corals and glittering fish that looked like floating jewels. He explored the nearby sea floor, and luckily, he had not seen any dangerous sea creature that could threaten an ordinary man’s well-being. Of course, he was not afraid for himself, but he did not want any battle while he was enjoying his dive.

Unfortunately, even with his robust physical stats, Anton could only spend a maximum of twenty minutes below the water. He decided he wanted to enjoy more of the view underneath, so he swam up and went to the beach to look for their hostess.

“What do you need, Mr. Sunder?” the beautiful lady hostess asked when Anton found her.

“Can you find me a water-breathing spellbook? It would be best if it’s a high-level one, like for archmage and above,” Anton asked and gave the woman 20,000 gold coins. Since it would probably take several minutes for the hostess to return, he joined Kirk, Mesono, Omar, and Abdul playing tag with other people on the beach. Anton tried his best to limit himself, but he technically still won because no one was able to catch him.

Young people’s laughter filled the air. It was as if New Drennor was a peaceful kingdom and not a place that was being attacked by the undead on its western front.

After around thirty minutes, their hostess, named Melinda, returned with the spellbook.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

“Mr. Sunder, I was only able to find a Water Breathing spell for high-wizards. It cost 3000 gold coins.”

Anton simply nodded and accepted the rest of the coins, giving 200 gold coins to their hostess as a tip. He reviewed the spell and based on the description, the caster could cast the spell non-verbal, which meant that a wizard could cast it while he was already underwater. The spell would last for an hour.

He then discovered something amazing. Anton could memorize the spell inside his Diablo II system, and since it would only take him a few minutes to memorize a low-level spell, at least for him, that meant that he could stay underwater for as long as he wanted.

Anton wondered what would happen if he used a town portal scroll deep within the ocean. Would the ocean water spill out of the portal nonstop? He was not mad enough to experiment on such a thing, but maybe someday he would.

“I’ll stay underwater for a long time and would probably return after several hours, so don’t wait for me. Here are 2000 gold coins and five medium-level mana stones if you need to spend on anything,” Anton told Kirk, then he swam toward the ocean.

Anton saw that Kirk stored the funds that he provided to his apprentices into his storage ring, so after that, he did not mind them and cast the Water Breathing spell and dove underwater. He was able to breathe because of the spell, and he was able to move extremely fast because of his Telekinesis spell.

He swam and swam, and thankfully, the light of the sun still reached the ocean floor. He stopped only when he reached the part of the ocean that light could not reach anymore. He stayed in the places that were still bright. Those places were large enough. He saw different-sized fish. He did not try to catch any of them because he did not know which ones were edible. He even saw a couple of large sharks, but the sharks probably noticed that Anton was someone who could not be messed with, since he saw the sharks swim away to avoid him.

He stumbled into a large underwater cavern and knew that if he swam up, it would be an island, but he did not, since he wanted to stay underwater. He saw a pod of abalone and simply watched them. Then he saw a bunch of clams, and they even had pearls of different sizes.

Anton saw that they were just regular pearls and not magical ones, so he left the clams alone. When the Water Breathing spell expired, he simply cast it again and continued exploring the sea floor.

He swam and swam, and he was even attacked by a man-sized barracuda. It was just a regular animal, so a simple Ice Bolt drove the fierce fish away. He did not kill it since he wanted his exploration to remain peaceful.

After three hours, he stumbled into a broken ship. He explored it and saw the rotting bones of the crew members and passengers. He then saw several chests in the ship’s cargo hold and simply stored them in his inventory to check out later. Then he went through every room of the ship and stored anything that took his fancy, most of which were chests since they were the only ones that survived the ravages of time and water.

When Anton saw that it was getting darker, he noticed that it was already five in the afternoon. He simply swam upwards and then flew up into the sky. He flew high enough until he saw the beach in the distance. It was so far that it had become so tiny. He flew towards the resort using a couple of spells to speed up his flight. He arrived at the resort at around six in the evening, and the sun was already setting.

Anton knew that the others were in the hotel eating dinner, so he went there as well. He saw Kirk and the others already eating, so he joined them.

“How was your adventure?” Kirk asked.

“I saw so many things! The world beneath the ocean is beautiful. I even stumbled into a wrecked ship, and I stored everything I could in my storage ring. We’ll check them out later,” Anton said.

He did not even care that their Tess and her parents, and Melinda, their hostess, overheard his comments.
