Chapter 145: 145 I am super sweet
Chen Xu looked at her with an expressionless face, “Any other requests?”
Bai Jinxuan said, “Right, I need hot water. It would be best if there’s a shower.”
“How about I take you to soak in a hot spring instead?”
Bai Jinxuan’s face lit up with surprise, “Is there a hot spring nearby? Why didn’t you mention it earlier, let’s hurry and go.”
Looking at her expression, Chen Xu began to doubt his earlier judgment, “Can’t you even recognize sarcasm? How high can your EQ possibly be?” He said irritably, “Do you think we’re here on vacation? Hot water shower? Why don’t you just fly to the sky?”
She murmured softly, “You didn’t say I couldn’t make requests. What if it could happen?”
Was this, being shameless?
Chen Xu was amused and said, “There won’t be a hot water shower, but you can go fetch a few big bottles of mineral water and pour them into a bucket to make do for a bath.”
“Also, you’re a girl going to the bathroom, don’t call for a man to accompany you. It can lead to misunderstandings, got it?” After speaking, he continued to scroll through his phone.
Seeing that he had no intention of helping, Bai Jinxuan slowly stood up and said quietly, “I’m really scared though.”
“Go a few more times, you’ll get used to it.”
“No help then, no help, think you’re so great?” She huffed, picked up a desk lamp, and walked towards the office with large strides.
After a while, she came back out, heading straight for the drinks area. She carried a 4.5L bottle of mineral water, the desk lamp tucked under her arm, struggling to make her way back to the office.
She ran back and forth several times, out of breath, and finally brought a new bucket to the doorway to rest.
Chen Xu glanced at her and curiously asked, “Why don’t you use a shopping cart?”
Bai Jinxuan’s expression froze, and after a few seconds, she looked at him somewhat angrily, “Why didn’t you say so sooner?”
“I didn’t think of it, you really are silly.”
Chen Xu shook his head. With her silly character, if she were left here alone, he feared she wouldn’t survive two days.
“You’re the silly one.” She marched back into the office, carrying the bucket and slammed the door shut with a bang.

After more than an hour of effort, Bai Jinxuan finally finished bathing and changed into clean clothes, walked out while drying her hair with a towel, and then noticed that Chen Xu had already made his bed and was lying there looking at his phone.
She looked left and right but didn’t see her own bed, and asked somewhat blankly, “Where should I sleep?”
Chen Xu moved his phone aside, looked at her with a puzzled expression, and asked, “Are all your daily necessities usually arranged by your assistant?”
“Of course, that’s what the company hires them for.”
“Then you’ll need to get used to not having an assistant around.”
Chen Xu kindly reminded her, “The daily necessities section is on the front left side, on the furthest shelf. The quilts are there.”
After saying this, he turned over and continued looking at his phone, then remembered something, turned his head, and added, “No need to thank me.”
Bai Jinxuan stood in place for a while, her expression slightly confused.
After a moment, she snapped back to reality and looked toward the shelves. In the places not reached by the light, shadows loomed as if something was hiding in the darkness, causing her to involuntarily swallow.
Come on.
She clenched her fists, cheered herself on, and picked up a desk lamp to go to the daily necessities area.
While walking, she muttered to herself until she reached the end of the aisle, when the lamp illuminated the quilts on the shelf, she grabbed one and ran back.
Breathless, she returned to her spot, her heart pounding. After putting down the lamp and holding the quilt, she patted her chest. She had been really scared and didn’t dare to look anywhere else.
She found a corner spot, spread out the quilt on the floor – it was against the walls on both sides and at some distance from Chen Xu, and when she lifted her head, she could see him. It was the perfect spot.
Just as she was about to lie down, she suddenly remembered an important problem – she had forgotten to take a pillow.
Now what?
To go or not to go?
…
After Bai Jinxuan had fallen asleep, Chen Xu placed his cellphone aside, inserted an earplug into his ear, and took out a palm-sized device resembling a cellphone, setting it up vertically on the ground next to his pillow.
He originally planned to enter the dream alone, so he had purchased an intelligent, trigger-based alarm system with points. If any object approached, it would sound an alarm and project the object’s appearance and location onto the monitor.
With this device, he could finally have a good night’s sleep.
He tested the alarm to make sure it was working correctly, then closed his eyes and quickly fell into sleep.
Sleeping in a dream was a peculiar experience. In fact, when he slept in the dream, he never actually dreamt; it felt like closing his eyes and then opening them, and a whole night would have passed.
The supermarket was silent, except for the occasional sound of Bai Jinxuan turning over in sleep.
It was uncertain how much time had passed.
Beep, beep, beep…
The sound of the dense alarm in his ear immediately roused Chen Xu, and on glancing at the monitor in front of him, he saw someone had crept in, having already reached the second floor and was just walking out of the stairwell.
No, it wasn’t a human.
Its eyes were emitting red light, its head turned left and right, and it was heading straight towards them.
It was a robot.
He was startled and threw off the covers, grabbed the monitor in one hand and the electromagnetic pulse gun in the other, and dashed out.
The robot was fast, but it made no sound as it ran.
Chen Xu used the monitor to judge the robot’s target, which was Bai Jinxuan in the corner. He sprinted over and waited in the alley, raising the pulse gun in his hand.
It was fast, but unfortunately, it was far away and a step too slow. Just as it dashed out, it collided right with the muzzle.
Chen Xu saw its figure and without a moment’s hesitation pulled the trigger, hitting the running robot with an invisible electromagnetic pulse.
The red light in its eyes flashed violently and then dimmed, its body, which had just leaped, lost motion, and fell from the air, hitting the ground with a thud. It slid forward before coming to a halt.
Chen Xu, seeing that it was completely motionless, breathed a sigh of relief.
No wonder the weapons offered on the points exchange page were all electromagnetic pulse types. They were intended for dealing with robots.
“What are you trying to do?”
As he was about to check the robot, he heard Bai Jinxuan’s somewhat panicked voice.
The noise of the robot hitting the ground had been so loud that it woke her up.
He turned to look and saw her, hands folded across her chest, huddled in a corner, shivering, just as he was about to explain, “I…”
“Can you give me some time, please?” she said in a frantic voice.
“?”
Chen Xu was confused by her abrupt statement.
“We can start by dating, one month, no no no, half a month, how about that? Let’s start with dating, okay?”
Wait a minute.
Chen Xu started to understand; did she think I was going to attack her at night?
Once he figured it out, he was at a loss whether to laugh or cry. To think about dating first, she had quite an imagination.
“I promise, I’ll try my best to fall in love with you. *sob* I’ve never been in love before, and I want to have a wonderful experience, please don’t be rough with me, okay?”
“I’ll seriously date you, truly, I’m super sweet…”
