My Evil Crown Prince-Chapter 47: Stalker
True to his words, Caden didn’t leave her side. He also didn’t let go of her hand and stayed beside her during dinner. Brie also sat beside Caden so Samantha wouldn’t be able to sit on the other side.
They decided to dine in an Italian restaurant at a five-star hotel. While waiting for the food, they had a chance to talk a little.
"So Prince Caden, we heard you and Alira were separated for twelve years and you didn’t try to visit her even once?" Ace asked.
She felt restless with Ace’s question. She wasn’t sure why he needed to ask Caden about the past. She liked the guy when they first met, but looking at him now, she wanted to pour a glass of water into his face.
Caden slightly smiled. "There’s a reason we have to be separated. Alira knows about it and we agreed when we were kids"
Caden was still calm and Alira couldn’t feel that he was annoyed with Ace.
"But isn’t that stupid? I mean, getting engaged at the age of six? I was still playing with legos at that age." Ace laughed and the others did the same.
She looked at Caden. Still, he was calm and composed.
"Well, Alira, Lucas, and I also played at that age. But I didn’t remember playing with Legos. Did we, Lucas?" Caden asked.
Lucas shook his head. "I think we played video games a lot. Right, Alira?"
She nodded. "Yeah. Mostly video games and we’re always at the library to read books. Lucas and Caden learned fencing, taekwondo, and other self-defense. I had my piano and violin lessons during their lessons."
Ace was taken aback. He wanted to humiliate Caden by using the past, but he didn’t expect to get intimidated by the three.
"Oh, but we also played in the garden sometimes. Alira loves flowers so if we have time, we go to the garden to have tea and a snack." Caden smiled remembering the old days.
"But isn’t it boring to have those lessons? Children need to play and be free." Samantha commented.
Caden chuckled. "Not really. I had fun because of Lucas and Alira. And we have different upbringings so we can say it depends, right?"
It was an insult and she knew it was a bit offensive. But they were the ones who started it. Caden was simply answering their questions.
The food came on time so they started eating. She thought Ace and the others had given up interrogating Caden. She didn’t expect that they would bring up something painful for Caden.
"I heard you have a sister. Caroline, right?" Ace said.
Caden nodded. She already felt Caden was uninterested in the topic, but he still answered.
"And you didn’t know you have one until you came back?" Ace asked.
Caden nodded again.
"Is it okay to ask about your parent’s reason? Why did they hide the truth about Caroline?" Cassy asked curiosity piqued.
"To protect her. My parents never wanted to be part of the royal family. They wanted to live here and not in Flousia. But things happened and ended up accepting their titles. It was different with Caroline. I guess it’s enough that I am the crown prince. They wanted Caroline to live her life as a normal girl." Caden answered softly.
Cassy and the others nodded. They didn’t ask further about Caroline so she was relieved.
"But I also heard you have another sister. The one who died, right?"
Her eyes widened and her heart pounded with Ace’s question.
"Ace, I don’t think it’s appropriate to ask about that." She said.
"Why not? We’re just having a conversation. And I was just curious about my new friend. You are my friend, right, Your Highness?" Ace smirked.
That’s it. She couldn’t take it anymore. She knew Ace was trying to piss off Caden. He was trying to break him. And if Caden loses control in public, his image would be ruined.
She slammed her hands on the table, making them shocked with her action.
"Ace, I would not let you talk to my fiance like that. I know what you’re trying to do. So please stop. This is for your own good." She said in a firm tone.
Ace chuckled. "Is that a threat, Alira? Why are you defending him? Can’t he protect himself? I did some research and found out that the Wilson Clan is wealthier and more powerful than the royal family of Flousia."
She was surprised by what Ace did. But he was absolutely wrong. If they would just consider the wealth and power of the royal family, the Wilson Clan was really on top of them. But Caden was the head of the Forelli Clan.
With both the royal family and the mafia’s power and wealth, the Wilson Group was now below Caden.
She was about to answer, but Caden held her hand and smiled at her. He was like a devil smiling at her and she knew he already lost his temper.
He then turned to Ace with a dark expression. The latter was stunned to see Caden’s eyes. His gaze, which would make anyone tremble, was now staring at her friends.
"I understand what you’re up to, Mr. Ace Timothy Rogers."
Ace’s eyes widened. "How did you—"
Caden grinned. "You’re wondering, right? If you did some research about me, you should have known what I am capable of. I know everything about you and your friends even before we met. About your parents and your older brother. I know where you live. I know exactly what your room looks like."
"Y—You’re kidding, right?" Ace stuttered.
"Why would I joke about that? I know you have a picture of my fiance in your room. You’ve been eyeing on her for years." Caden continued.
Ace shook his head. "T—That’s not true! You’re making me a bad guy in front of Alira."
Then he turned to her. "Alira, he’s lying. He’s jealous because we immediately became close. Those photos were—" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
She frowned. "Photos?"
