Chapter 339: Blessings Of The Angel

Uriel moved closer to Arianna and Laela, with a warm expression as she extended both hands toward the infants.

"May I?" she asked.

Both mothers nodded, each shifting their baby to make the tiny palms accessible.

Uriel placed her right hand gently over Andrea’s small palm.

A soft golden light bloomed beneath her touch and formed into an intricate insignia that glowed for a few seconds before fading into the baby’s skin.

Andrea made a small sound as her eyes blinked at the angel with what seemed like curiosity.

"The Blessing of the Discerning Heart," Uriel said in a low tone. "She will know by instinct who deserves her trust and who does not. Lies and deception will appear as clear as day to her, no matter how skillful the deceiver."

Arianna’s eyes widened as she looked down at her daughter. "That’s... that’s an incredible gift."

Uriel smiled, then turned to Tristan, placing her left hand over his tiny palm. The same golden light emerged, and the insignia itformed was different from Andrea’s.

"The Blessing of the Indomitable Will," Uriel said. "Fear, intimidation, and all effects that seek to break his spirit will find no purchase in his heart. His courage cannot be stolen or diminished and he will stand firm when others falter."

Laela’s hand rose to her mouth as emotion welled in her chest. "Uriel... thank you. These gifts..."

"Are meant to keep them safe," Uriel finished gently. "And to help them become who they are meant to be."

Both women spoke at once, with their voices overlapping. "Thank you."

Uriel inclined her head, then stepped back to give them space with their children.

Her attention then shifted to the group standing behind. The members of Ravens Grave.

Uriel approached them with a welcoming smile. "You must be the members of Ravens Grave. I have heard much about your exploits."

Piers stepped forward, grinning. "The infamous Ravens Grave, at your service."

Some members of the group chuckled, and Uriel’s smile only remained as welcoming.

"You are all welcome here," she said. "Any friend of Aiden is a friend to this house."

Aiden stepped forward then, addressing the group. "Please, take a tour of the castle. Explore as much as you like. And know that you are all welcome to stay as long as you wish. Not just for tonight, but for as long as it pleases you."

He gestured broadly at the vast space around them. "There is food in abundance. The rooms here are so large they could serve as palaces in their own right. Whatever you need, whatever comforts you desire, they are yours."

There was a pause before he added. "My home is your home."

The sincerity in his voice touched several members of the guild.

Aiden then turned toward Rin and Aers. "Rin. Aeris."

Both women looked up at once.

"Would you kindly help Arianna and Laela inside? They and the babies need rest."

"Of course," Rin said, moving forward at once.

Aeris followed just behind her. "We’ve got them."

Elena suddenly spoke up. "I’m coming too."

She stepped away from where she’d been standing beside Oliver and joined the other women.

Innis’s voice came next. "Me too."

She moved toward the group without looking back at Kayden. Anything that kept distance between them seemed like a good choice at the moment.

As Arianna and Laela began moving toward the grand staircase, Aiden stepped close to each of them in turn. He pressed a gentle kiss to Arianna’s forehead, then did the same to Laela.

"Rest well," he murmured.

Both women smiled at him before ascending the stairs with their children. Rin, Aeris, Elena, and Innis followed close behind, and slowly they disappeared into the upper levels of the castle.

—-

Time was difficult to measure in this place as there there was no sun to mark the passage of hours, and no natural cycle of light and dark.

The sky above the floating islands remained in a state of permanent twilight, beautiful and unchanging.

It could have been an hour since the group arrived, or perhaps two. Maybe more.

Most of the Ravens Grave members had surrendered to exhaustion. The celebrations in Eden, and then coming here was all too much for their human bodies to handle.

Some had found proper beds in the many guest chambers Varac had shown them.

Others had simply collapsed wherever seemed comfortable enough; the cushioned seats, thick rugs, or even the floor itself in rooms that caught their fancy.

Ambrose and Amelia stood together on a balcony tucked into one of the castle’s higher towers. Neither had spoken much since finding this spot.

They simply stood side by side in silence, gazing out at the floating islands and the dragons soaring between them.

In one of the massive bedchambers, Laela and Arianna lay together on a bed large enough to fit ten people. The mattress was impossibly soft and the blankets were woven from materials that felt like silk and cloud.

Andrea slept in a small bed positioned on Arianna’s side. Tristan rested in an identical one beside Laela.

Both infants were peaceful as their tiny chests rose and fell in the steady rhythm of sleep. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

Rin and Aeris occupied another bed in the same room.

They’d insisted on staying close, both to help if the babies woke and because the four of them had grown accustomed to each other’s presence over the past three years.

In a different wing of the castle, Piers and Katherine had claimed a room for themselves.

The sounds they made were loud and shameless.

CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP

Katherine’s voice rose in pleasure and moaning, "agh~ nghn~ right there right there... don’t you dare stop now... aghn~"

Piers’s deeper tones mixed with hers as he moved his waist to thrust in and out of her from her back side. There was also the occasional spanking of her ass that only aggravated her moaning

"That’s right baby, just like that...."

Their sounds echoed off the walls of the chamber, filling it completely. But somehow the room’s construction kept the noise contained.

Anyone passing by the door would hear nothing but silence.

Oliver had fallen asleep somewhere in the castle’s lower levels. But not Elena who currently wondered about the castle.

The mystery of this place continued to tug at Elena’s inquisitive mind. Right now, she walked beside Aiden as he acted as her personal tour guide through the castle’s many chambers.

And he seemed content to answer her endless stream of questions.

They passed through a doorway into a room unlike any they’d visited so far.

The space was circular, with its walls split into two distinct halves. One side was pure white, smooth and unmarked. The other was absolute black.

But what caught Elena’s attention were the objects floating along the walls.

The items hovering in midair, varied wildly in appearance: a golden hand, a crystalline sphere, a miniature mountain, a bow of pure light, a black coin.

"What are these?" Elena asked, looking rather intrigued

"Sigils," Aiden said simply. "Each one represents a god and connects me directly to them."

She turned to look at him.

"They also represent consent," Aiden continued. "A way for me to communicate with them without invading their minds. I’m trying to build mutual respect between myself and the gods."

Elena’s expression softened at that. It was such a small thing, really, but it spoke volumes about who Aiden was beneath all that immense power.

He moved to stand beside her, pointing to the golden hand floating near the white side of the room. "That one’s Adam’s. The All-Father."

His finger shifted to a crystalline sphere that seemed to contain an entire miniature galaxy within it. "Umgadi’s."
