My Dragon King System-Chapter 293: Against The Demon King Pt.4: An Explosion Of Light
Lilith realized at once that she had lost and without hesitation, she turned around and made an attempt to flee and return to Samael’s side.
But the avatar’s voice spoke calmly. "Stop."
And time froze, causing Lilith’s body to stop mid-flight.
The avatar then raised its hand and forcibly relocated Lilith back toward them using its control over space, and she reappeared directly in front of them, still frozen in place by stopped time.
Adam looked at the avatar and nodded once more.
The avatar floated forward and grabbed hold of Lilith’s neck with one hand. In that moment, cracks appeared all over Lilith’s body.
They spread rapidly across her skin, webbing outward from the point of contact where the avatar’s hand touched her neck.
This was the power of Destruction.
Even though it was only a smaller portion of what Aiden wielded as Sovereign of Annihilation, it was still at a level where not even the First Humans would survive it.
Lilith’s body began disintegrating along those cracks. Her form crumbled piece by piece until it suddenly burst into a large explosion of light
——
The battle continued against the fallen angel with relentless intensity.
Aiden enclosed the space around Samael, forming an invisible barrier that trapped the fallen angel within a confined area.
Within that sealed space, Thyron created the same extreme conditions as a neutron star exploding, concentrating all that catastrophic energy directly around Samael.
The explosion that followed was massive.
It rocked the enclosed space with such devastating force that the barrier itself shattered under the impact.
But the explosion did not go past the barrier’s blockade area. The shattered pieces of the spatial prison had contained the blast just long enough to prevent it from spreading beyond its intended range.
If that explosion had not been curbed by the barriers, it had more than enough power to have laid all of Eden to waste.
The other gods watching from a distance were utterly astonished by the power of the dragons. Their eyes widened as they stared at the aftermath, and they watched intently to see if the damage had truly affected the fallen angel.
The aftermath began to clear, revealing Samael’s form. His six wings were folded around him like a shield, with minor burns that covered parts of his body, but they were already beginning to heal.
Then his wings unfolded, and there was a smile on his face.
Aiden didn’t let the taunting smile get to him, instead he responded immediately with another attack, raising one massive clawed hand as flames began gathering in his palm.
The fire condensed and shaped itself into a large lance, glowing with intense heat as it solidified in his dragon’s grasp.
Without hesitation, Aiden hurled it toward Samael. The flame lance traveled through the air at incredible speed.
At the same time, Orlien used her authority. She warped his mind’s perception of sight, delaying it by a few seconds.
By the time Samael’s vision truly registered how close the flame spear was, it had already reached him. His sight had been deceived into thinking the flames were still traveling when in reality, they were upon him.
This deception worked on Samael for only half a second. But that space of time had been enough.
The flame spear pierced through his torso, punching a hole straight through to the other side. Blood sprayed outward when the lance tore through emerging from his back in a burst of fire.
Aiden was using everything he could against Samael, and Syqora was granting every single one of their efforts the most luck and the best chance of success through his manipulation of probability.
Samael gritted his teeth as he grabbed hold of the flaming spear embedded in his body. With a roar, he forced it out, ripping the lance free as the flames extinguished.
The large gaping hole in his torso was already sealing back up at an extraordinary pace. Blood dripped down from both corners of his lips, but even that was slowing as his regeneration accelerated.
Then, he laughed and said mockingly,
"Now you resort to throwing mere human magic at me?"
But it was in that moment, as Samael spoke, that something else happened.
Far from their area of battle, an explosion of light erupted.
Every god in Eden sensed it immediately. Their heads turned upward toward the source as realization dawned on them.
The Mother of Gods had passed.
Asahel, still trapped within the spatial prison, sensed it as well. His eyes widened in terror, and his face contorted into fury as he screamed.
"Nooooo!"
The yell was so powerful it shook the surrounding walls of space around him.
For the briefest moment, it looked as though two more invisible pairs of wings appeared beneath his fourth pair before they vanished just as quickly.
Then Asahel fell to his knees, staring downward in absolute defeat. It was the first time he had expressed any real emotion over anything.
As he collapsed to the ground, Umgadi and Gaia noticed something. A tiny crack had formed in the space lock itself. Although, since its walls were invisible, it looked as though the air had split.
They glanced at each other in disbelief but said nothing more.
Samael had sensed the passing of Lilith as well. The goddess who was supposed to be his wife.
A part of him did sting at that loss. That small that had grown to overlook and accommodate Lilith, if only for how useful she still was to him.
But more than that, one of only two gods holding the most fragments of transcendence within their kind had just released all that power into thin air.
And that hurt far more.
Aiden noticed the opening. Samael had gone quiet and his expression looked distant for just a moment.
Without hesitating, Aiden flew forward toward him, attempting to capitalize on what seemed to be a vulnerability.
But before he could even get close, something changed. A sudden surge of power began emanating from Samael.
Aiden’s eyes went wide with shock. He stopped his movement forward, with his wings flaring outward to halt himself mid-flight.
The same expression appeared on the faces of the other dragons. They couldn’t believe what they were sensing.
Syqora’s voice was low as he said to himself.
"How... how is this even possible?"
Samael then spoke, and this time there was no taunt in his voice. He was serious.
"The only reason I didn’t come for you dragons sooner, was because I knew I could end you all whenever I wished."
In that moment, his body began transforming.
His frame expanded rapidly, and his height increased until he was at nearly eight feet. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Horns grew from his head, curving upward as his six wings began shedding away.
Then from his back, one large black wing sprouted in their place. It was massive, far larger than any of the six wings was individually.
The dragons stared in actual terror at what stood before them now.
Some of the gods watching from a distance began taking even greater distances away from the battlefield. Their faces were pale with fear as they retreated further into the skies.
Even Thera, who had been watching from afar, floated backward instinctively as dread settled over her.
Far above in the skies, where Adam and Aiden’s avatar had been making their way back toward the battlefield, they both stopped abruptly.
Adam looked terrified. His golden eyes were wide as he stared down at Samael’s transformed state, while the avatar gritted its teeth in frustration.
