Chapter 291: Against The Demon King Pt.2

Without hesitation, the avatar teleported toward the far distance where it had forced Asahel to go. Umgadi, Gaia, and Orion quickly followed behind.

The gods around watched in silence as they exchanged uncertain glances.

What side should they pick? Was this even a matter of sides?

One by one, they took flight, distancing themselves from the fallen angel and the dragons.

The other avatar that remained at Aiden’s side turned toward Thera, who floated close by.

"Go from here as well, This is not your fight."

Thera understood immediately. After all, this was not a situation she could affect.

She nodded, then flew away.

———

The tension between Samael and the dragons heated up.

From Samael’s back, six majestic wings burst forth, spreading wide. He tilted his head side to side, and his neck cracked audibly as though releasing muscle tension.

The demon lords still stood valiantly behind him. This time, they looked ready.

The disguise Lilith had cast over them had washed away as each one forced their power out, revealing their true demonic forms.

The black dragon Aiden looked at them with disgust in his eyes. He made a wave of his massive clawed hand and whispered.

"Begone."

Instantly, cracks appeared across the bodies of the demon lords. The cracks webbed outward, spreading across their skin like shattered glass.

Then, slowly, they disintegrated.

Their bodies crumbled into specs of dust.

In that moment, Samael moved. He hurled the Longinus at Aiden’s outstretched arm with devastating speed.

But Orlien and Syqora acted simultaneously.

Orlien poured a portion of her consciousness into the spear itself, directly controlling it and veering it off course.

At the same time, Syqora reduced the probability of the weapon striking Aiden to absolute zero.

This directly nullified the spear’s sure-hit effect, making it far easier for Orlien to move it aside.

The Longinus passed Aiden’s arm by a hair’s length.

The black dragon also moved to act at once, as if not worried about the spear at all. He knew the other dragons would come to his aid.

In that moment, Aiden tilted his hand toward Samael’s position and summoned his fullest power as Dominator of the Void.

With his Universal Sight, an upgrade to his dimensional sight, he could easily see into the next universe.

He now knew the direction and where to place the portal.

And with that knowledge, a portal was made as this formed in the air behind in the Samael

But the hard part now was maintaining it.

The moment Aiden set a portal leading into another universe, even for someone with near-infinite mana, he could feel it taking a lot out of him.

He also could not break focus. Not even for a moment.

His avatar remained at the ready as It was Aiden’s line of defense.

"Get him in!" Aiden called out.

Thyron had already moved into action immediately.

Her power over Creation was inclusive of the creation of attributes and right then, she created and bestowed upon herself the attribute of Great Strength.

She immediately swiped one of her massive hands down in a bid to swat Samael directly into the portal behind him.

But Samael flew out of her wide arm’s range, ascending rapidly into the sky. He stretched his hand out, recalling the Longinus telekinetically toward him.

The spear began moving toward him but then stopped mid-flight.

The weapon rattled violently, as though being pulled by an opposing force.

And it was.

Orlien still had a hard grip of her consciousness within the spear, pulling against Samael’s will.

And while Samael struggled to reclaim his weapon, Thyron acted.

She had already created and bestowed upon herself the attribute of Great Speed. In a blur of motion, she closed the distance and grabbed hold of Samael in her large hands.

Without hesitation, she flung him straight toward the portal.

Normally, Samael might have been able to divert away from the grab as he had immense speed and sharp reflexes.

But Syqora had cast the effect of Misfortune upon him. For that split second when it took hold, Samael was simply not fortunate enough to evade in time.

Aiden watched intently as the battle unfolded, maintaining his hold over the portal. His entire focus was locked on keeping the gateway stable.

Samael tumbled through the air and spun uncontrollably, but he quickly regained his orientation.

At the very edge of the portal, his six wings spread out forcefully, catching the air. He steadied himself, hovering very close to the threshold.

Even then, the dragons didn’t give him any breathing space.

Thyron raised both hands and created the concept of Gravitational Push as waves of invisible force poured from her palms, pressing against Samael and forcing him backward slowly.

Samael raised his left arm in defense and the left side of his three wings rose in front of him, forming a barrier to block the push.

But Syqora acted again. He increased the chance of success on the gravitational push attack to a 100% certainty.

For a second, it worked.

The force intensified dramatically. Samael’s wings trembled under the pressure as hus body was driven backward, closer and closer to the edge of the portal.

His feet hovered just at the threshold now. The gateway loomed behind him, and right now, it was certain that nothing would stop his entry into that portal.

Then suddenly, his body stopped being pushed into the portal.

The wave of gravity never stopped acting on Samael, but right now it could push him no further.

In fact, he let down the wings that had been covering him in defense and a smile spread across his face as he stared at the wave pressing against him.

He began floating forward, totally unbothered by the effect of the push

Aiden, who watched from his position, clicked his tongue.

"Tch."

He wanted to act. To do something else. But holding onto this portal and using his energy for it was the most important task. He couldn’t afford to break focus.

"It seems you have all forgotten about the power I possess?" Samael began, continuing to move toward them unbothered. "Or have you forgotten that a hundred years ago, when we did this, I had already adapted to most of what you all have to throw at me?"

Of course the dragons didn’t forget.

That was, in fact, the major problem with dealing with Samael. They knew that reusing their abilities on him now wouldn’t have the same effect as before.

His adaptation was absolute.

Samael laughed out loud at them.

"Heck, most of your attacks only work for maybe half a second or something and—"

"Purge," Aiden whispered.

Samael stopped mid-sentence. His expression went blank and his eyes stared blankly into the air.

For a split second, Aiden who couldn’t take it any longer decided to use one of his powers as Sovereign of Annihilation.

He directly fractured Samael’s brain and destroyed his thoughts, blotting them away into nothing.

The portal Aiden held open immediately flickered. It drew in closer, as if trying to close shut.

But almost immediately, Aiden returned his full focus back to it and re-energized the gateway to force it wide again.

"Again, Thyron!" Syqora yelled.
