Chapter 285: Method Against The Demon King Pt.2

The dragons turned their attention toward him as Aiden began the explanation. Infact he was working out the idea as he spoke about it.

"My understanding as The Axis over space has improved greatly. Which is why I can make this inference."

He raised one hand and gestured as if drawing invisible lines in the air.

"Normally, the dimensions of our universe are separated by dimensional lines. But what if the same applies to the distance between one universe and another?"

The dragons kept looking at him as he explained. They processed his point without interrupting.

"Of course, it won’t be a thinner line like it would be for dimensions," Aiden said. "But I’m certain there’s some distance between our universe and another. And in that distance is the space that separates these universes."

Syqora tilted his head.

"I understand what you are saying," he replied. "But what point are you driving at?"

Aiden nodded. "I’m getting right to it."

He took a breath and continued.

"Me moving from one dimension to another requires my dimensional sight, which sees the next dimension, and a portal that takes me to where my sight sees."

He paused before adding.

"For universes, it would work the same. Only I don’t have such a range of sight yet. Which means the use of my portals to another universe will not work."

Aiden’s expression shifted into something more resolute.

"But I do have another way that cuts boundaries between space. My Space Authority technique, Severance."

Thyron frowned at that point. "Veyqorin’s Severance cuts into a void," she said. "Not even he has ever cared to explore what lies within it."

Aiden shook his head. "The void it cuts into is not the point. In fact, that void is not where I intend to cut into."

Syqora’s brow furrowed. "I don’t quite understand."

Aiden looked directly at him now.

"That is exactly where your power over luck and probability comes in."

He gestured toward Syqora as he spoke.

"What are the chances that the cut Severance makes leads into another universe instead of a void in space?"

The other dragons looked at Aiden with surprise written across their faces. The realization of what he was trying to say began to dawn on them.

"I can make a spatial cut. A really large one. The cut would sever the fabric of our reality and lead into a void."

He paused before continuing.

"I assume that traveling from our universe to another would require the boundary between them to be removed, or at least for a pathway to be formed between both."

Aiden met Syqora’s gaze again.

"The idea is for you, the Dragon of Destiny, to increase the probability and luck so that Severance would randomly cut into another universe."

His voice carried conviction now as he repeated.

"Your power over the randomness of events will make it so that instead of cutting into a void, it would somehow that cut the lines of space that leads to another universe."

Syqora remained silent for a long moment,

as if calculating the possibility around Aiden’s idea.

Then he spoke. "That could actually work."

He turned his gaze back toward Aiden.

"Which would also mean I would have to be the one who channels my power and focus into maintaining such probability."

Aiden nodded and said, "Perhaps we give it a try."

Syqora nodded as well. Without another word, he began to shift.

His form expanded rapidly. His limbs elongated and his torso stretched outward, with scales erupting across his skin.

His wings unfurled behind him as his body grew until a massive dragon stood before them.

That amount of luck manipulation would definitely require that Syqora be at full power.

Syqora in his dragon form looked down at Aiden and said, "We have to do this at the same time."

Aiden nodded in understanding.

He took a stance close to Syqora and said, "Let’s go."

In that moment, Aiden raised his right hand and swiped it diagonally through the air.

A spatial cut so tore open before them. The fabric of reality split apart, and the opening expanded rapidly outward in both directions.

At the exact same moment, Syqora’s power activated as he manipulated the probability of the cut itself, altering its nature so that instead of slicing into empty void, it would tear into another universe.

He also increased Aiden’s luck exponentially in the same instant, ensuring that the cut would randomly be applied to sever not just local space but the boundary that divided their universe from another one.

The spatial cut shimmered violently for a moment as reality was struggling to reconcile what was happening.

And then it stabilized.

This was a massive gateway before them now that stretched several meters high and wide.

Beyond its edges was not darkness or void but something else entirely. These were energy colors that blended with each other at the edge of every universe.

Aiden stared at it for a moment before speaking.

"It worked."

He stepped closer to the gateway and activated his dimensional sight, trying to peer through it and see what lay beyond more clearly.

But his sight could not stretch further beyond the lines of this space cut. It stopped at the threshold as if hitting an invisible wall.

"This is not just another dimension within our universe," Aiden said. "I’ve never seen here before. And my dimensional sight can’t reach beyond it."

Syqora maintained his power of the luck and probability of events that made this over the gateway opening even possible.

Thyron and Orlien walked closer to view the portal themselves.

Thyron stared at it for a long moment before turning back toward Aiden with approval in her eyes.

"Your resourcefulness is commendable," she said.

Orlien nodded in agreement beside her.

"This should work."

Aiden stepped back from the gateway and raised his hand once more.

He undid the Severance skill with a thought, severing his connection to the spatial cut.

And Syqora stopped the power of his authority over it as well.

The gateway flickered a bit, then collapsed in on itself with a sound like shattering glass. The tear in space then sealed shut, leaving no trace behind.

Syqora’s dragon form shrunk back down into his humanoid shape once more and then he said,

"It held stable. As long as I maintain my power around it, the gateway will remain open and connected to another universe."

"Then we have our method," Aiden said.

Syqora nodded.

"Yes. Now we just need to get Samael through it."
