Chapter 484: Chapter 469 Beigao Te

After four or five extra servings of pig’s trotters, they finally finished the meal.

Eating pickled greens and pig’s trotters felt like a buffet, but in reality, most of the credit went to Huai Xu. He was an emotionless eating machine, single-mindedly contributing to the Old Land World.

In comparison, Tuanzi’s awareness wasn’t as high; perhaps that’s why Huai Xu started as a Great Demon while she could only survive by being cute.

"Rich guy, pay the bill."

Yin Le motioned to Zhou Li with his hand. He had only taken a sip of his beer, saying he had to ride his bike later.

「Outside the restaurant.」

Zhou Li held Tuanzi in his arms and looked at the three of them.

"Where are you guys heading?"

"The two of us are renting an apartment together... It’s convenient for studying; we can supervise each other and ask for advice," Xiao Hua said softly. She wasn’t blushing because she was still immersed in what Yin Le had spoken of earlier, constantly pondering how she would react if she found herself in that young woman’s situation. With such heavy thoughts weighing on her mind, she had no room for shyness.

"Walk with me," Yin Le said to Zhou Li. "I’d like to ask for your help."

"Sure," Zhou Li then said to Xiao Hua and Su Jue, "Then you two should take a cab back... Don’t overthink it."

"Got it."

"Mhm."

Zhou Li soothed Tuanzi, who wriggled restlessly in his embrace, and stood quietly by the roadside, waiting for Yin Le to unlock the two disc locks on his bike and the chain lock connecting it to the lamppost.

Yin Le was quite good at learning from his lessons.

Immediately after, Yin Le pushed his heavy motorcycle while Zhou Li followed behind, heading toward Polytechnic University.

The road was straight and sloped gently upwards. At its visible end, no other buildings could be seen—only dark clouds, driven by the wind. Rays of daylight faintly pierced through from behind them.

"Isn’t it tiring pushing it?"

"Not tiring."

"It’s heavy, right?"

"Less than two hundred kilograms."

"How much did it cost?"

"I want to ask you... well, to be precise, I want to ask your friend, Mr. Huai Xu." Yin Le rarely used respectful language for Huai Xu, but he struggled with the last two words. The first time he’d met Huai Xu, he’d seen a tall, beautiful woman, so he stumbled before continuing, "I’d like you to come with me to the school in Huize to look into something. I found traces of a demon on that girl."

"You suspect she’s being bewitched by a demon?" Zhou Li asked.

"Possibly." Yin Le wasn’t too certain. "Actually, I have no evidence."

"Then how do you know a demon’s involved?" Huai Xu interjected.

"I can’t sense it myself. However, I brought a magic artifact with me—an ancient relic with powerful capabilities that was previously displayed in a museum. Its purpose is to alert the user when it detects traces of a demon. But when I later used a spell to search, I found nothing. Perhaps this demon is very well hidden..." Yin Le paused. "Or maybe the magic artifact is too old and malfunctioning, or it just happened to detect a demon passing by, or there’s some other reason. That’s what I initially thought. But after hearing what you said, Huai Xu, I’ve decided to go back and confirm."

"I see..."

"It’s not that I’m biased against demons," Yin Le explained. "A normal person would hardly harbor such intense killing intent. Besides, a Heavenly Master who hasn’t studied spells or combat, and hasn’t developed their inherent abilities, is at best only slightly more physically fit than an ordinary person. I watched the surveillance footage from the scene. Her movements were stiff and her technique was poor, but her attacks were incredibly fierce and lethal, and she displayed enormous strength. Perhaps because she was frequently bullied and yearned for revenge, she might have looked into such things. But if she already possessed that kind of power, why couldn’t she even manage to escape?"

"I agree," Zhou Li nodded.

"Thank you." Yin Le looked into the distance. "If evidence of her being bewitched by a demon can be found, the situation would obviously be much more favorable."

"You don’t know her, and neither do I." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"Understood." Yin Le grasped Zhou Li’s meaning.

"When do we leave?"

"As soon as possible."

"You two are such a bother. Just send me the location, and I’ll take a look, isn’t that enough?" Huai Xu scratched his head, failing to understand the youngsters’ reasoning.

"I want to go over and take another look," Yin Le said.

"Then still send me the location. I’ll go ahead and check it out, to prevent the traces from disappearing if too much time passes." Huai Xu pulled out his phone, an exasperated look on his face. "You can slowly make your way there."

"Okay."

About a minute later, Huai Xu vanished on the spot.

Yin Le looked at Zhou Li again. "My bike isn’t good for carrying passengers. I’ll get someone to drive us."

Zhou Li glanced at the back seat of the large, red motorcycle, involuntarily imagining himself sitting there. Indeed, it wasn’t a pleasant thought.

「Five o’clock in the afternoon.」

Huize is a place of many mountains, characterized by high peaks, deep valleys, and crisscrossing ravines. They had experienced some of this on their journey, as a section of the Jingkun Expressway passed through these great mountains. However, after exiting the expressway, they still had to navigate national and provincial highways, and even rural roads.

The car finally stopped halfway up a large mountain.

The school had a rather grand name: Beigao Te Inspirational School. It had been converted from a dilapidated middle school in a mountain village. That middle school had closed due to its poor condition, after which Beigao Te purchased it and transformed it into this specialized training school. Reputedly, the school was quite famous, its renown extending far beyond the local area. It was well-known throughout the country, and many parents from other provinces would send their children here, traveling great distances.

Beigao Te was nestled against an unscalable mountain to its back and a cliff before it. The entrance connected to a dirt road, which was the sole path for entering or leaving the school.

Further ahead lay a small village.

The school’s walls were extremely high, topped with barbed wire and broken glass, and equipped with alarms and cameras at regular intervals.
