My College Teacher is My Children's Mom-Chapter 773 - A child who wins at the starting line from birth!
As soon as Xiaobao left, Lin Feng began to look up information and search for courses. He also made a call to Erbao.
He learned that Erbao was planning to come back soon, as she wanted to spend time with their parents before the Chinese New Year. When New Year’s arrived, she intended to celebrate it in Jingcheng. After all, it was her first time spending the holiday with her in-laws.
Lin Feng urged her to return as soon as possible and told her about the plan for Xiaobao. Erbao quickly replied, "Okay, Dad, I’ll fly back tonight."
After the call, Lin Feng put aside his books, a look of contentment on his face.
Zhang Yuxi came over and raised an eyebrow. "What, giving up?"
Neither of them was good at tutoring their children with homework. He was even worse; it always made his blood pressure spike.
Lin Feng chuckled. "Erbao is coming back tonight. Let her handle it."
Zhang Yuxi let out a small sound of surprise. "With Erbao’s temperament, can she handle it?"
Lin Feng countered, "Who else can we count on right now?"
This left Zhang Yuxi at a loss for words.
Lin Feng sat up straight. "My plan is this: Erbao will tutor her first. When she leaves for the New Year, Sanbao will have returned."
"Eh, with all this coming and going, there’s nothing left for me to do."
Zhang Yuxi thought the plan was excellent!
That evening, after ten o’clock, Erbao arrived home with her luggage. Xiaobao had already gone to bed, but the four elders were still waiting up, crowding around to ask her all sorts of questions. Seeing the happiness in Erbao’s expression, they all felt reassured.
"How are you getting along with your in-laws?"
"They’re very easy to talk to and treat me very well," she replied.
Even though she and Qin Jiang had seemingly moved out, Erbao often ate at her in-laws’ place whenever Qin Jiang was away.
After they had chatted for a while, Lin Feng told Erbao to go get some rest.
Erbao couldn’t help but feel sentimental. Home really is the best. Even though Qin Jiang’s parents are so good to me, they aren’t my own parents, after all. I’m still most comfortable at home.
The next morning, Erbao was eating breakfast while looking at her computer. As soon as Xiaobao came downstairs, she said, "Come here, take a look at this." 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Xiaobao took the paper and read it. "A schedule?"
Erbao nodded. "This is the study plan I arranged for you after going over the curriculum last night. From now on, I’ll be your teacher." She glanced at Xiaobao. "Any objections?"
She worried that her pampered little sister might back out, so she watched her closely.
Xiaobao indicated she had no objections.
Erbao told her to finish her meal and get ready; class would start at nine o’clock sharp. The lessons would take place in the multifunction room. Whenever the children returned for the New Year, their work often made things inconvenient. That was why Lin Feng had specially cleared out the multifunction room and filled it with all the necessary equipment.
After breakfast, Erbao went there with her laptop. Before she left, she told the elders not to interrupt. She added that Xiaobao could leave the room for a fifteen-minute break halfway through.
And just like that, Xiaobao’s winter vacation was over. One wonders if she’ll be able to complete the challenge!
「On another note」
The two films Xiaobao had shot right before the New Year, *Peeking Dreams* and the guesthouse-themed *Don’t Guess*, were set to be released just a day apart. The titles alone were enough to hint at their genres! The trailers for both films were compelling, and everyone was willing to go to the theater to support Xiaobao. Moreover, the studio for *Don’t Guess* had deliberately released a two-second clip featuring Lin Feng, which drew in even more potential viewers. The release was scheduled for a month later, right after the New Year, which made everyone anxious with anticipation.
However, another happy event was just around the corner.
It was Chinese New Year!
On the twenty-eighth day of the twelfth lunar month, Erbao left for Jingcheng. Sibao returned from Jingcheng, and Dabao would also be home later. Sanbao arrived with Shao Yang on the morning of New Year’s Eve.
If there was anything different about this year’s holiday... Erbao was married, and Sibao had a partner.
As for Xiaobao, she was doing her homework while celebrating New Year’s Eve with everyone. Her intense dedication amused Sibao, who was the first one to come over and make her a grand promise.
"Xiaobao, if you successfully skip a grade this year, your Fourth Brother will buy you whatever you want!" he declared. "But I don’t believe you can do it, haha!"
Xiaobao got flustered. "Nonsense, I’ll definitely succeed!"
Sibao wore an expression of pure disbelief. "I don’t believe you. You’re bluffing."
Xiaobao gritted her teeth. "Fine. If I successfully skip a grade, that collectible figure of yours is mine."
Sibao hesitated for a moment. "Okay, I’ll be waiting." Then he added, "But if you fail, you have to give me all the lucky money you get this year!"
Xiaobao did a quick mental calculation. It would be several million! She couldn’t give it to him!
Her heart steeled. "Fine!"
Sibao’s method of motivation was certainly unique! It was a good thing it was him; anyone else might not have succeeded.
With Sibao leading the charge, everyone else started making bets with Xiaobao. As long as she passed her exams after the New Year and successfully skipped a grade, she could have whatever she wanted!
Xiaobao snorted. "Just you wait! I’ll make you all see me in a new light!"
Everyone clapped, having waited for her to say just that.
With her declaration made, she took her homework and stomped upstairs. "I’m not going anywhere for the next few days. I’m just going to stay home and study hard."
Sanbao smiled gently. "Okay, I’ll stay home and help you with your homework."
Xiaobao looked moved. "Sanbao, you’re the best!"
Seeing her like this made everyone smile. Born into such a family, Xiaobao was already a winner in life. Even if she didn’t strive or work hard, even after her parents were gone, the support from her four older siblings would be enough to sustain her for a lifetime. She was a child who had won at the starting line of life!
This time, Xiaobao meant what she said and wasn’t joking at all. Sanbao stayed with her, tutoring her, and they barely went out. Visiting relatives and friends was a task for Lin Feng and the others. Sanbao enjoyed the rare tranquility, using the time to read and work on her designs at home. Xiaobao was smart. As long as she had that perseverance, she was bound to succeed.
「In the blink of an eye, the third day of the New Year had arrived.」
Sibao and Shao Yang also had some downtime, and Lin Feng sat down on the sofa.
"I’ve cooked for you all for nearly thirty years," he announced. "From now on, when you’re home, you should be the ones cooking for us."
Sibao, the worst cook of the bunch, asked, "Dad, Mom, what if it doesn’t taste good?"
Lin Feng smiled faintly. "It doesn’t matter if it’s not good. I can still eat it."
Zhang Yuxi furrowed her brow slightly. She wasn’t as easygoing as her husband. "If your cooking isn’t good, can’t you practice more to improve? You can’t expect Xiao Yi to cook for you three times a day, can you?"
Sibao grinned shamelessly. "Heh heh, Xiao Yi is a great cook, and I love the food she makes. Plus, she loves to cook for me and even said she wants to cook for me for the rest of my life!"
The couple was caught off guard by their son’s public display of affection.
Dabao gave him a cool look. "Sibao, when someone says that, you should cherish her."
Zhang Yuxi frowned. "Exactly. Out of all our children, you’re the least sharp-witted. I really don’t know what you think about all day."
Sibao protested, "Mom, so what if I’m not the sharpest? I still have a girlfriend, don’t I? Look at Dabao. Even if he’s sharper... Dabao, don’t leave! Where are you going..."
Dabao sighed. It’s my fault. ’A man away for three days must be regarded with new eyes.’ Sibao has a girlfriend now. He’s changed!
Zhang Yuxi sighed. "You’re all grown up now, and your tempers have grown with you. There’s nothing I can do."
Dabao, who was halfway out the door, paused. "Mom, I’ll cook."
Zhang Yuxi smiled. "I want braised fish."
Sibao called out, "I want sweet and sour pork ribs!"
Dabao said expressionlessly, "Sibao, come and help."
Sibao went to assist, and Shao Yang followed him.
