Chapter 24: Herb Store

At the end of the day, Long Tian left the antique market even though there were still patients; he told them to come back tomorrow, that he would be there, and that those who recommended people would get a discount.

On his way home, he stopped at an herb store nearby, planning to buy the materials he needed for cultivation.

Various herbs were carefully preserved to keep their effectiveness.

He walked up to the counter where the receptionist was sitting.

The shop was small but adequately sized, and he could see some of the herbs he wanted to buy.

"Hello," he said softly, knocking on the table when he saw the person in charge was asleep.

It was a young woman in her twenties. She was also very beautiful.

Seeing her made Long Tian frown, not because he recognized her but because he had just arrived in China and met four top beauties.

Was China filled with beauty or what?

The young lady rubbed her eyes as she yawned. When she saw a stranger’s face, she composed herself and smiled, "Welcome to our herb store. Which herb would you like?"

Long Tian nodded. He took out a list where he had written all the herbs he needed.

There were a bit too many, and he didn’t have time to say all of them.

The young woman took the list from him, and when she saw what he had written, her mouth opened wide in surprise.

At first, she thought a normal customer had arrived.

But as she read halfway through, her smile faded; she kept glancing at Long Tian, wondering if he was joking.

She read the entire list, and anger started brewing in her mind.

She forcefully dropped the list on the table and looked at Long Tian. "Sir, are you here to play with me? What are all of these? I know all about herb names, and I can confidently say no herb has the names you wrote here."

She folded her arms and snorted, throwing the list back to Long Tian.

Long Tian heard her words and raised his eyebrows in doubt. He was confident that what he had written was accurate, and he had seen some of the herbs when he entered.

What was going on?

"Ahem. Are you sure of this? Because I recognize some of the herbs in your store," Long Tian questioned.

The young lady was surprised and paused. She thought Long Tian was lying.

"Okay, why don’t you tell me the functions of the herbs you saw here that were on your list? I know all the functions of the herbs here," she replied.

Long Tian considered her words and found the idea plausible. But would his explanation match hers?

"I have an herb here called Blood Essence Herb. It’s a small crimson herb with veins that look like flowing blood. It usually grows in damp or deep forests. Its main use is to restore blood and vitality."

Long Tian pointed to one of the herbs on the list and explained.

The young lady’s eyes widened as she realized Long Tian’s words were true, though the herb’s name was different.

"Hmm... tell me another one."She wanted to confirm if his words were really true.

"Okay, another one is the Iron Grass Herb. It is a dark green herb with thick leaves that grows in rocky mountains and cliffs. The leaves feel slightly metallic when touched. It strengthens muscles, hardens the skin, and improves physical durability."

Long Tian mentioned another herb from the list.

"Hmmm, another one." She said, not wanting to accept his words.

Long Tian frowned; he was a bit impatient as he had no time to waste. He glanced at the young lady, whose gaze turned sharp at this.

"Why aren’t you answering? Cat got your tongue? If you know the herbs, why don’t you mention the third one so I can know if you are speaking the truth or maybe you have just learned them?" she ridiculed.

Long Tian shook his head at her words.

"Ok, Tiger Tendon Vine. It is a long, flexible vine that grows around ancient trees. It is extremely tough to cut. It is used to strengthen tendons and flexibility."

This time, the young lady believed him, but she was confused about why he used different names from the ones she knew.

"You are right, but the first one is called Red Vein Herb, while the second one is Steel Leaf Grass and the last one you mentioned is called Iron Vine." She explained.

Long Tian chuckled, a bit surprised by how the modern world had changed the name of the herbs.

"Since you can recognize the herb you want, then you show the herb you want." She proposed, and he agreed.

His Mystic Dragon Eye became active, glancing through the herbs, planning to pick the best ones.

Like the Blood Essence Herb, it had different grades; the ordinary grade grows in normal environments, but other grades grow in concentrated blood areas.

Maybe a creature dies or its blood is spilled; the higher the concentration and vitality of the blood, the higher the grade of the blood essence herb.

And they can be watered with the specific blood of creatures.

When Long Tian saw the blood essence herbs they had, he became disappointed because all they had was ordinary grade. He thought he might be lucky to see a higher grade because the higher the grade, the rarer it was.

He shook his head, and he looked at the young woman before him.

Not long after, he frowned in surprise. He could see that the physical strength of the young lady was very strong.

It was even close to his physical strength.

Thinking about Murong Chen’s case as well, he became confused. He had checked them and saw they weren’t cultivators; he sensed no aura of Originat.

How were they this strong?

China was really different from what he thought.

He felt it was full of hidden veils.

"Ahem... Sir..." He heard the voice of the young woman and realized he had sunk into his thoughts.

"Sorry for that." He apologized.

With that, he began selecting the herbs he needed. They had the key herb he needed for the refinement process.

Meanwhile, in another place, someone was looking at Long Tian’s picture.
