My Bugged System Made Me Too OP!-Chapter 76: Rumours about Mr. White
Without another word, a deafening crack shook the heavens. ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐๐๐ท๐๐ซ๐๐ก.๐๐ธ๐ถ
Crackle!!
A massive bolt of white-blue lightning struck down from the clear sky, slamming into the exact spot where Noah stood.
The light was so bright that the entire crowd was forced to shield their eyes, the roar of the thunder drowning out every other sound in the wasteland.
When the light faded, Noah was nowhere to be found, having disappeared along with the lightning.
Strangely enough, even though the lightning had been powerful enough to shake the earth, there was no damage done to the ground.
The crowd gasped in unison.
"So this is the might of an arch magus..." someone whispered from the back.
The murmur spread like wildfire through the ranks of the adventurers and civilians alike, their eyes darting towards the miles long wall of ice.
The one who had been the most afraid was Yuan.
He remained in his deep bow for several seconds after the lightning had vanished, his breath coming in ragged gasps.
When he finally looked up, his eyes remained glued to the spot where Noah had been standing only seconds ago.
His face was pale, and his hands were still trembling as he processed the sheer scale of the power he had just been threatened with.
His gaze then drifted slowly to the woman.
She was still sitting on the floor, her brown hair disheveled and her eyes wide with shock.
Noahโs jacket was still draped over her, the only thing covering her naked body the eyes of the crowd.
She looked small and fragile, a far cry from the terrifying shadow monster that had nearly ended lives moments before.
Yuanโs eyes turned cold, the fear he felt while Noah was here transforming into anger towards the woman.
"Donโt think youโre getting away with this," he said, his voice hard and unforgiving.
Yuan stretched his hand toward the woman, his fingers tensing as he channeled his own mana into the ground.
The earth beneath her responded instantly, churning and rising upward in a violent surge.
They molded themselves around her body, quickly rising up to her neck, completely encasing her torso, hands, and legs in a thick, pressurized pillar of stone.
In such a position, there was no way for her to be comfortable.
The jagged edges of the compressed earth dug into her skin, and the sheer weight of the pillar made even breathing difficult.
However, Yuan didnโt care about her discomfort. In his eyes, she was a high-level threat that needed to be taken care off gas.
He walked closer to her, scanning her carefully in case she still had any tricks or even tried to attack.
Instead, the woman suddenly burst into tears.
She completely ignored the fact that she was encased in a pillar of stone, tears streaming down her face as she looked at the sky.
"Itโs not a dream..." she sobbed, her voice trembling in joy. "I really am human again..."
She couldnโt remember the last time she felt air touch her skin. For years, she had been nothing but a shadow, having forgotten the sensation of the wind blowing through her hair or even her skin.
Even though she was in clear pain from the earth encasing her, she didnโt struggle.
The pressure of the stone against her ribs was a physical agony, but to her, it was a miracle. It was a sensation. It was proof that she could now feel things like a normal person.
Yuan stood over her, his expression shifting from anger to a deep, flickering confusion.
The frown on his face only got deeper as he watched her.
He had dealt with many criminals and rogue magi in his time with the guild, but he had never seen a reaction like this.
There was no malice in her eyes, only a heartbreaking sense of gratitude that seemed entirely out of place for someone who had just been defeated and captured.
However, what confused him the most was the state of her power.
Yuan focused his senses, reaching out with his mana to gauge her strength.
He searched for the dark, oppressive aura of the shadow element that had nearly suffocated the area moments ago, but to his surprise, he couldnโt sense even a speck of mana within her.
It was as if the golden wave Noah had unleashed hadnโt just stripped away her shadows; it had purged her entire magic channels, reverting her to being just an ordinary human.
Yuan took a step back, his hand falling to his side as he stared at her.
"Mr. White surely said sheโs a Grandmaster Magus..." Yuan muttered, still bewildered by what he had just witnessed.
A grandmaster magus was a very powerful figure. It shouldnโt matter whether she had lost or not, she should still have have magic, or so he felt.
Yet somehow, all her magic had vanished almost like they never existed in the first place.
"How come..." he whispered, his eyes wide. "Sheโs just a normal human now?"
Yuan could not help but feel that Noahโs strange power had everything to do with this transformation.
It was one thing to defeat an opponent, and it was another to strip them of the very thing that made them a magus in the first place.
โThe power to completely destroy all magic channels... reverting such a powerful figure into an ordinary human...?โ he thought, a cold chill running down his spine.
In this world, a magiโs mana channels were as their heartbeat.
To have them damaged irreparably was a terrible fate said to be worse than death, but to have them completely removed, leaving behind only a mundane, powerless human, was a feat he had never heard of in all his years as a guild master.
He subconsciously glanced back at where Noah had been before, the sensation of those needles prickling his neck coming back.
โJust who... is this Mr. White?โ he thought, realising that he might be dealing with someone far more dangerous than he could even fathom.
