My Bugged System Made Me Too OP!-Chapter 64: Mask
For a brief moment, his heart had skipped.
But now—
Seeing that it was completely intact...
A small, genuine sense of relief settled in his chest.
He hadn’t even realized how tense he had been until now.
’I definitely wouldn’t have liked it if it got ripped to shreds because of my stupid mistake...’
A wry smile formed on his lips at the thought.
He shook his head lightly.
That would have been beyond annoying.
Especially when he still had no idea what the egg actually was.
His gaze softened slightly as he picked it up again, turning it over in his hand.
His lips curled slightly.
’Whatever this really is...’
His eyes narrowed faintly.
’...I’m sure I’ll find out soon enough.’
For now, though— 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
There was something more important.
He couldn’t just leave it lying around like this.
If anyone found it, especially his mother or Amelia, there was no telling what kind of trouble it might bring.
Noah turned and walked back toward his bed.
Carefully, he placed the egg at the corner, making sure it was tucked close to the wall.
Then he pulled the bedsheet over it, covering it completely.
From the outside, it looked like nothing more than a slight fold in the fabric.
Completely unnoticeable.
Noah stepped back slightly and examined it.
His eyes scanned the bed.
Then he nodded faintly, seeing that it was properly hidden.
’That should do it.’ he thought, letting out a low exhale.
For now, at least, it would stay out of sight.
Out of trouble.
His gaze shifted slightly as another thought surfaced.
’I better allocate my points... just in case.’
—
A few minutes later.
Noah was already outside.
The streets were alive with movement.
People walked back and forth, merchants called out from their stalls, and the faint hum of daily life filled the air.
Amidst all of this—
A translucent panel floated quietly before Noah’s eyes.

Noah’s lips curled into a satisfied smile as his eyes moved across the panel.
His stats had increased noticeably.
He had levelled up three times, which added three points to wash stats.
He had also distributed the ten supreme points he had among his five stats, increasing them by an extra two points.
And then—
His skills.
His gaze lingered there for a moment.
There were a lot.
Far more than what any normal magus at his level should possess.
And not just in number—
But in quality.
Even without testing them, he could already tell.
These weren’t ordinary abilities.
A faint smirk appeared on his face.
’This is getting ridiculous...’ he thought.
But he didn’t dislike it.
Not one bit.
His attention slowly shifted forward as he continued walking through the streets.
His current goal was simple.
Head to the adventurer guild.
Sell off the mana beast corpses he had stored, and make some money.
He didn’t know exactly how much they would go for.
But one thing was certain—
It wouldn’t be cheap.
Mana beast materials were always valuable.
Especially cores.
Even the lowest-grade ones could fetch a decent price.
And considering what he had—
A faint glint flashed across his eyes.
’It should be enough...’
As he continued walking, his gaze casually swept across the surroundings.
Different shops, stalls and vendors were lined up along the street.
Then—
His steps slowed slightly.
His eyes narrowed.
A particular store had caught his attention.
It wasn’t large.
Nor was it especially flashy.
But displayed at the front were different kinds and shapes of masks.
Noah’s gaze lingered on the small shop, his eyes narrowing slightly as he took in the setup.
Right in front of it stood a brown wooden board.
It wasn’t anything particularly special at first glance—just a flat, rectangular surface mounted upright. But at the very center of it, there was a small white dot.
It was tiny.
Barely noticeable unless one looked closely.
And that alone made it stand out.
In front of the board, a short distance away, a line had been drawn on the ground.
That was where the participants stood.
A faint murmur filled the area.
Noah’s eyes shifted slightly.
A couple of teenagers were gathered in front of the shop.
One after another, they took turns throwing arrows toward the board.
Each throw was filled with focus, and expectation.
But every single one of them missed.
The arrows either struck the wooden surface far from the white dot or completely veered off to the sides.
"Ahh! I almost had it!"
"You didn’t even come close."
"Shut up, you try then!"
Their frustrated voices filled the air as they kept trying.
Miss.
Miss.
Miss again.
Noah watched silently.
Then his gaze shifted toward the shop itself.
A faint glint passed through his eyes.
It didn’t take long for him to piece things together.
So that’s how it is...
From what he could see, the shop was clearly running some kind of promotion.
Hit the small white dot at the center of the board—
And you get a mask for free.
Simple.
At least... on the surface.
Noah’s lips curled slightly.
’Perhaps...’ he thought.
Without hesitation, he stepped closer.
His movement didn’t go unnoticed.
The shop owner immediately turned his attention toward him.
A middle-aged man with a slightly rough appearance.
The moment their eyes met—
A smirk spread across the man’s face.
"Ah... another one," he muttered under his breath.
Without wasting time, he reached down and picked up an arrow, handing it over to Noah.
"Go on," he said casually.
"Try your luck."
Noah accepted the arrow.
His fingers wrapped around it lightly as his gaze dropped to observe it.
It was thin.
Lightweight.
Made of simple brown wood.
The shaft was smooth, but not perfectly balanced.
And at the tip—
A sharp, pointed metal head.
Noah’s eyes lingered on it for a moment longer.
Behind him, the teenagers watched curiously.
"You think he can hit it?"
"No way."
"Watch him miss completely."
The whispers filled the air, but Noah ignored them.
The shop owner, on the other hand, maintained his smug expression.
"You’ve got three chances," he said, folding his arms.
"Hit that small white dot at the center, and you get a mask for free."
He tilted his head slightly.
"But if you miss all three..."
A faint chuckle escaped him.
"You lose, and you’ll have to pay to get another chance."
His tone carried a hint of confidence.
Noah glanced at him briefly.
Then he nodded.
"Alright."
He didn’t say anything more.
Instead, he stepped forward, positioning himself at the marked line.
The arrow rested lightly between his fingers.
His gaze locked onto the board.
More specifically—
The small white dot at the center.
For a brief moment—
Everything seemed to slow.
The chatter.
The movement.
Even the faint rustling of the wind.
Then—
He moved.
His arm flicked forward.
The arrow left his hand.
Cutting cleanly through the air.
The shop owner’s eyes narrowed slightly.
At that exact moment—
His finger moved subtly.
Hidden beneath the counter, he pressed a small button.
The mechanism activated instantly.
The board shifted.
Just slightly.
Just enough to throw off the trajectory.
After all, the game was rigged from the very beginning.
No matter how accurate the throw was—
The board would always move, causing the arrow to miss.
That was how he made his profit.
But—
This time—
Something was different.
The arrow didn’t veer off, neither did it miss.
Instead—
Thud.
It struck right at the center.
Perfectly embedded in the small white dot.
For a moment—
Silence.
Complete silence.
The teenagers froze.
Their mouths slightly open.
The shop owner’s smug expression vanished instantly.
His eyes widened in shock.
"...What?"
The word escaped him involuntarily.
His gaze darted between the board and the arrow lodged dead center.
’Impossible.’
That was the only word in his mind.
Impossible.
Noah lowered his arm calmly.
Then he turned his head slightly, looking at the shop owner.
His expression was indifferent, almost bored.
"I won." he said.
It didn’t matter whether the game was rigged or not, with his current stats, there was no way he would lose to a simple trick.
The shop owner looked at him with his eyes wide, still reeling from the shock of having being beaten at his own game.
However, he could only gnash his teeth and accept his loss.
"Pick... whatever one you want." he said, pointing towards the masks.
*
A few minutes later...
Noah had a slight smirk on his face as he stared at the mask with him.
It was white with a pair of red eyes and two small horns at the sides, just like a demon.
’I wouldn’t want my true identity to be discovered this early... after all, it is a very important part of my plan.’ he thought, putting on the mask.
