Chapter 36: I’m not in heat!!

"Okay." Victor said, trying to gather his thoughts while still seeing Carmilla on top of Scarlett, holding her like a monster about to attack. The scene was too absurd even by their standards. Scarlett writhed on the ground, the blood chains tightening around her body, her red tail thrashing violently from side to side, her fox ears lowered and her teeth bared like a cornered animal.

"For all that is holy, how is this happening?" he questioned.

Scarlett strained her body from side to side, trying to break free from the grip of the chains at all costs, but they seemed indestructible. And technically they were, at least for her at that moment. Carmilla was light-years ahead in blood control, manipulation, and raw power, while Scarlett basically lived drinking Victor’s blood and training her body and sword. In a direct confrontation of vampiric control, Scarlett simply had no way to compete now.

"Let me go! I’m not in heat!!" She roared, her voice faltering between anger, shame, and something more instinctive that she clearly didn’t want to admit.

Carmilla completely ignored the protest and looked at Victor, still holding the chains firmly, wrapping them around Scarlett’s torso once more just to be sure.

"I found it strange when we got back from solitary confinement, even though she accepted the relationship with you, she didn’t even try to touch you or try anything more, even though we tried to provoke her." Carmilla explained, and Victor looked at her confused, truly not understanding where this was going.

"And what does that have to do with this situation?" Victor questioned, looking at Scarlett who was already trying to bite the chains. Yes, she was literally pulling the chains upwards with her body and trying to bite like a trapped animal trying to gnaw at its own trap.

"First, it’s impossible to resist you." She said directly.

Victor stared at her, unsure if that was a compliment, an accusation, or just an irritating observation.

"Secondly, if she tried... well, she’d be in big trouble because of the contract, technically she’ll love you one way or another." She spoke calmly, as if explaining a simple equation.

Victor slowly ran a hand over his face.

"And thirdly?" Victor questioned.

Carmilla sighed, looking at Scarlett struggling like a trapped wild animal.

"Her beastly instinct overcame her vampire blood, which of course, could be influenced by your blood. Which is too strong. I thought about it a bit and realized that most of the things Scarlett has done since she left prison have basically been either testing you or helping you be better. Do we agree?" She questioned.

Victor remained silent for a few seconds, thinking.

And the more he thought about it... the more sense it made.

Scarlett really always did that.

First, she always watched him and Carmilla having sex from the side, as if analyzing them, studying their behavior, dynamics, power, position, dominance... not as someone jealous, but as someone evaluating.

Second, during training she talked a lot about instinct and always tried to make him stronger and more aware of his own strength. Which is what a trainer would naturally do, however, she was always watching the whole picture, not just the sword, but his behavior, his decisions, how he reacted under pressure.

Victor slowly began to understand.

"Don’t tell me that—" Victor began, understanding what Carmilla meant.

"Yeah, strange, isn’t it? It was when she handed you that sword that I understood." Carmilla said, and Victor picked up the sword’s hilt. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"This?" He showed the sword.

"She would never, ever, under any circumstances, lend this thing. Especially since it was a named sword forged with her own blood. Do you understand what I mean?" Carmilla questioned. Scarlett tried to say something.

"That has nothing to do with—" Scarlett was overwhelmed by something in her mouth, blood that immediately gagged her, preventing her from continuing to speak.

Carmilla didn’t even look at her when she replied.

"You sly fox, you were testing if he was a worthy male, so you gave away your most precious possession to prove you right or wrong."

Scarlett let out an angry sound and tried to break free again, her tail thumping the ground forcefully.

Carmilla continued explaining, now in an almost academic tone.

"Foxes form pairs, sometimes for life." Carmilla began to explain.

"The breeding season lasts four to six weeks, during which the males become aggressive and mark their territory. In our case, you’re the only one because of the vampire marriage contract." She said, looking at Victor.

"The female goes into heat for only a day or two. But I doubt it will only be a day or two... knowing what blood does... this will last for months or even years." Carmilla spoke.

Victor remained silent, looking at Scarlett.

She was panting.

Her eyes were red.

Her fox ears were trembling.

Her tail was moving slowly now.

But the look... the look was dangerous.

Very dangerous.

"Release her." Victor spoke coldly, making Carmilla’s body tremble slightly. It wasn’t loud, it wasn’t aggressive, but it was a clear order.

"B-but the chances of her attacking you~" She stammered, but he raised his hand, basically telling her to just do it.

Carmilla hesitated for a second.

But she obeyed.

The chains that bound Scarlett’s body dissolved into liquid blood and returned to Carmilla’s body as if they had never existed.

For a second... Scarlett’s eyes flashed red and she pushed Carmilla back hard enough to make her slide a few steps across the floor. Her body was still tense, her breathing heavy, her tail moving restlessly behind her, betraying that the control she claimed to have might not be so great after all.

"Tsk, don’t do that again. I’m not going to attack anyone. I already said, I’m not in the~" Before she finished speaking, Victor’s hand was already on her crotch. Even through her pants, he had already felt the heat and the wetness.

Scarlett froze in place.

It wasn’t out of shame.

It was out of shock.

"Besides the overwhelming smell of sex coming from you, you’re gushing dirty fluids. You can see it running down your thigh." Victor spoke with the same irritating calm as always, as if he were just pointing out a technical detail during a training session.

She looked down, completely ignoring his hand still there, and saw.

A damp trickle ran down her leg, slowly sliding down her thigh, mercilessly revealing her body’s state.

"My god..." She murmured, more to herself than to anyone there.

Her face didn’t flush with embarrassment as it would with anyone else. Instead, she looked... angry. Angry at her own body, angry at the situation, angry at Carmilla, angry at Victor, angry at the entire universe.

Her tail twitched forcefully behind her, slapping the air once.

"I hate you both." She murmured, still looking down, as if this were an unforgivable biological betrayal.

Carmilla, still a few steps behind, crossed her arms with a satisfied smile.

"I warned you." She said.

Scarlett closed her eyes for a second, took a deep breath, and when she opened them again, looked directly at Victor. Her gaze was no longer just irritation. It was something more instinctive, deeper, more dangerous.

"If you do anything stupid now..." she said slowly, her voice low, almost a restrained growl, "it’ll be your fault when I lose control."

Victor didn’t remove his hand.

He just tilted his head slightly, looking at her as if he were analyzing a wild animal he was trying to tame, observing every reaction, every micromovement, every change in her breathing.

"You’ve already lost control," he replied calmly. "You just haven’t accepted it yet."

Her tail stopped twitching and she looked at him, the silence between them growing heavy, dense, almost palpable.

"Really?" She smiled, and her eyes began to turn bright red, her smile becoming sharper, more dangerous. "Maybe I want to lose control~"

Victor smiled back, a slow smile, like someone who had finally confirmed an old suspicion.

"There she is~ You’ve been caught." He spoke before his hand slipped inside her clothes and went directly to the heat source that her body practically betrayed on its own.

Scarlett gasped sharply, her whole body freezing for a second, as if an electric current had run down her spine. Her hand immediately gripped his shirt tightly, not to push him away, but to hold on.

Her tail bristled all over.

Her body trembled slightly, not from weakness, but from tension, from instinct, from something she had clearly been holding back for a long time and that was now beginning to slip away.

She brought her face closer to his slowly, her eyes still red, her warm breath brushing against his face.

"You have no idea what you’re doing..." she murmured softly.

Victor didn’t back down.

He didn’t answer.

He just kept looking directly into her eyes, as if defying her, accepting the consequence before it even happened.

Behind them, Carmilla crossed her arms, watching the scene with a long sigh.

"This is going to be trouble..." she muttered to herself.
