My Antique Mirror Is A Portal To Another World-Chapter 596: Uninvited Visitors
When Wen Kang saw the masked man, his sleepiness disappeared instantly. Struggling to push himself up from the cold stone floor, Wen Kang looked toward the masked man’s hand.
The second he saw the bundle in the masked man’s hand, still dripping blood onto the floor, his eyes flickered with excitement.
Before he could ask anything, the masked man took out a long silver pin and unlocked the lock.
Careful not to make a sound, the masked man removed the chain, then opened the cell door. Throwing the bundle toward Wen Kang, he said coldly, "The mission is complete." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Without waiting for Wen Kang’s reaction, he closed the cell door and locked it again. In the next second, he disappeared without a trace.
Looking at the now-empty corridor, Wen Kang reached for the cloth bundle. He paused for a few seconds before opening it. When he saw the severed head, Wen Kang was stunned.
A brief moment later, he suddenly laughed maniacally.
"He really is dead! Ha ha ha! He is finally dead!"
He laughed for a while before suddenly stopping abruptly.
"How could he die so easily?" Wen Kang asked in a low voice, with a hint of doubt in his tone.
As he stared at the severed head, Wen Kang’s eyes turned cold. Filled with doubt, he reached toward it, then carefully examined the face and severed neck.
Finding no traces of modification or human skin’s mask on the neck or face, Wen Kang’s eyes flickered with a glint of surprise as he said, "Yu Zhao is really dead..."
After this fact settled into his mind, Wen Kang threw the severed head to the side and stood up from the cold floor.
He staggered to the cell door while muttering, "Let this Prime Minister out... This Prime Minister wants to see the Empress Dowager."
Grabbing the wooden bar, he shouted louder, "This Prime Minister wants to see the Empress Dowager! Let this prime minister out!"
While Wen Kang was clamoring to see Wen Qiaolun, the members of the Hong Sha Pavilion secretly spread rumors about Yu Zhao’s assassination.
At the same time, far away at the Yurong Border Pass Garrison, Feng Xiyan, who was lying on the bed, gently caressed Bai Hanyun’s face.
"Yun’er, wake up. It’s time to go to Xiqiang City," he whispered softly beside Bai Hanyun’s ear.
Stirring in her sleep, Bai Hanyun hummed softly before opening her drowsy eyes. Sensing the warmth coming from her side, she turned and met Feng Xiyan’s gentle eyes.
Watching her stare at him in a daze, Feng Xiyan chuckled and gently added, "We should go now. Otherwise, we won’t have enough time to teleport the war prisoners."
Bai Hanyun lay there for a few more seconds before nodding and reaching out toward Feng Xiyan.
Seeing her act cute, Feng Xiyan chuckled, then let out a helpless sigh. Sitting up, he hugged her and helped her sit up.
Letting Bai Hanyun lean against his chest, he played with her fingers while saying, "If you are too sleepy, I can go alone."
Shaking her head, Bai Hanyun replied sleepily in a hoarse voice, "I want to go with you."
Rubbing her eyes, she yawned and bent down to pick up her shoes.
However, before she could grab them, Feng Xiyan got out of bed and beat her to it. Kneeling in front of her, he gently helped Bai Hanyun put them on. When he was done, he stood up and reached out to her.
Smiling at him, Bai Hanyun held his hand. Getting out of bed, she called out, "Yang Mirror."
Hearing her call, the Yang Mirror, who was cultivating inside her dantian, opened his eyes and turned into golden particles.
A second later, a golden light shot out from the red mark on Bai Hanyun’s wrist.
Appearing before Bai Hanyun and Feng Xiyan, the Yang Mirror asked, "Girl, why are you calling me at this late hour?"
"Yang Mirror, I want to go back to Xiqiang City. Can you send us over?" Bai Hanyun asked.
Raising his brows slightly, the Yang Mirror asked curiously, "Girl, are you planning to do something bad again?"
"When did I ever do something bad?" Rolling her eyes at him, Bai Hanyun urged, "Stop talking nonsense. Will you send us over or not?"
Used to her impolite tone, the Yang Mirror casually responded, "Yes, yes, yes."
Reaching out toward her, he instructed, "Hold my hand."
Just as Bai Hanyun was about to take Yang Mirror’s hand, Feng Xiyan grabbed her outstretched hand and then held Yang Mirror’s hand with his other hand instead.
Seeing this, the Yang Mirror rolled his eyes at Feng Xiyan. Ignoring Feng Xiyan’s unhappy gaze, the Yang Mirror snapped his fingers.
Snap!
In an instant, the three of them disappeared from the bedroom.
Startled by the falling sensation, Bai Hanyun instinctively hugged Feng Xiyan’s neck and closed her eyes tightly.
When she finally felt solid ground beneath her, she slowly opened her eyes. Seeing that the surroundings had changed, she looked around.
Before she could figure out where they were, Feng Xiyan said, "Let’s go."
With Feng Xiyan holding her hand and leading the way, Bai Hanyun took the opportunity to observe her surroundings. Behind them, the Yang Mirror turned into a golden light and returned to Bai Hanyun’s dantian.
Ten minutes later, Bai Hanyun saw a gloomy stone building not far ahead. Looking at the wooden plaque hanging above the main gate, she realized that the gloomy building was the Feng Army’s underground prison.
As they approached the underground prison, the soldiers guarding the entrance noticed them.
Raising their spears, the two soldiers shouted at the same time, "Stop right there! This is a restricted area! Leave now, or we will take action!"
After saying that, the two soldiers vigilantly observed the two uninvited visitors.
By the time Feng Xiyan and Bai Hanyun were close enough for the torchlight to illuminate their faces, the soldiers were ready to fight.
