Chapter 573: Can’t Be Killed (1)

Seeing the grenade’s destructive power against the Dizhu Tribe warriors, Hua Yuyu’s eyes flickered coldly.

"Use the explosives!" he commanded calmly.

"Yes, Captain!"

Gao Gong and the others immediately put away their guns and pulled grenades out from their Qiankun Pouches.

Not far away, Feng Xiyan also witnessed the grenade’s destructive power. Instantly understanding Hua Yuyu’s plan, he shouted, "Retreat! Retreat!"

At his command, the Feng Army’s elite soldiers withdrew as swiftly as they had advanced.

While Zhong Zi’an led the retreating soldiers back to the garrison, Zhan Qi and Feng Xiyan rode straight toward Bai Hanyun and her team.

Seeing them approach, Hua Yuyu’s eyes lit up. "Brother Feng, Miss Bai is in your hands now!"

"Leave her to me!" Feng Xiyan replied.

Reaching out as he rode past them, Feng Xiyan reached out toward Bai Hanyun. Without hesitation, she put away her gun and grasped his hand.

With a powerful pull, Feng Xiyan lifted her onto his warhorse, seating her in front of him. Without delay, he shouted, "General Zhan, retreat!"

Zhan Qi glanced at Hua Yuyu and saw him nod. His fingers tightened on the reins, and he called out loudly, "Brother Hua! You all must return alive!"

"Roger that!" Hua Yuyu replied with determination in his eyes.

Giving him one last look, Zhan Qi turned his warhorse and followed Feng Xiyan back toward the garrison.

Left behind with his team, surrounded by more than four hundred Dizhu Tribe warriors, Hua Yuyu issued calm orders, "Xie Wei, focus on the explosives. Everyone else—defensive formation!"

"Yes, Captain!"

At once, the team formed a tight circle around Xie Wei.

While Hua Yuyu and the others fended off incoming enemies, Xie Wei crouched down and took out a black box from his Qiankun Pouch. With practiced precision, he assembled the explosives piece by piece at a fast speed.

As the enemies closed in, Hua Yuyu’s gaze turned icy. "Gao Gong. Begin close combat!"

"Roger!"

Putting away their guns, Hua Yuyu and Gao Gong drew the military daggers strapped to their thighs and rushed toward the nearest enemies.

Slash! Slash! Slash!

Moving like shadows, they cut down Dizhu Tribe warriors who came too close one after another.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Behind them, Wu Jun and the others continued firing relentlessly.

Watching the enemies advance like iron puppets that felt neither pain nor fear, Bao Shengjie shouted anxiously, "Brother Xie Wei! Hurry up!"

"Almost done! Hold on for ten more seconds!" Xie Wei replied, teeth clenched as his hands moved faster.

Ten seconds later, he shouted, "It’s ready!"

Hua Yuyu kicked away two warriors who aimed for his throat, sending them crashing to the ground.

Thud! Thud!

Pulling out an armored vehicle, Hua Yuyu shouted, "Get in!"

In an instant, Xie Wei leapt onto the roof while the others forced their way inside. Before Gao Gong could fully shut the door, Hua Yuyu slammed the accelerator, and the armored car surged forward toward the garrison.

Crouched on the roof, Xie Wei silently calculated the distance between them and the Dizhu Tribe warrior chasing behind.

Twenty seconds later, his eyes flickered coldly. "Hold on tight!"

Inside the vehicle, Bao Shengjie covered his ears while the others grabbed onto whatever they could. Hua Yuyu’s knuckles whitened around the steering wheel while he pressed the accelerator harder.

Above them, Xie Wei held the detonator tightly. Staring at the Dizhu Tribe warriors, he whispered coldly, "Go to hell."

The second he pressed the detonator, the black box exploded.

Boom!

The explosion caused the ground to shake violently, while mushroom clouds formed in the distance.

Covering his eyes with his arm, Xie Wei waited until the ground stopped shaking before opening them. When his gaze fell on the scene in front of him, Xie Wei finally let out a curse.

"Damn! Are these people zombies?! How could they still be alive after being hit directly by my C4 explosive?!"

Hearing the usually calm Xie Wei cursing so loudly, the others couldn’t help but stretch their necks and look back through the car windows.

When they saw that the Dizhu Tribe warriors were still alive, they followed Xie Wei and cursed one after another.

"Crazy bastards. They are harder to kill than cockroaches!" Bao Shengjie complained gloomily.

Looking at Hua Yuyu, Wu Jun asked, "Captain, we can’t let them leave this place alive. Based on my observation, the more they fight, the stronger they become."

When Bao Shengjie heard this, he exclaimed in shock, "What?! They can even level up! Are they even human?!"

Wu Jun glanced at Bao Shengjie, then looked back at Hua Yuyu and added, "Today, a C4 explosive can’t kill them. If we let them retreat, by the time they come back next time, our chance of winning the battle won’t be higher than ten percent."

Listening to his calm analysis, Hua Yuyu fell into deep thought. After a brief moment of thought, he suddenly turned the steering wheel and drove back toward the Dizhu Tribe.

"Xie Wei, prepare another C4. You guys, attack with grenades and buy Xie Wei time. I will lure them away from the garrison," Hua Yuyu ordered calmly.

"Yes, Captain."

Receiving the order, Xie Wei took out another black box from his Qiankun Pouch.

While he assembled the C4 explosive, Hua Yuyu drove around the Dizhu Tribe warriors, while Gao Gong and the others kept throwing grenades at the enemies, slowly decreasing their numbers.

While Hua Yuyu and his team were fighting, Zhong Zi’an and the soldiers rode directly into the garrison. Not far behind them, Feng Xiyan and Zhan Qi were riding at high speed.

After they went inside, Feng Xiyan heard the gate captain give an order, "Close the gate!"

Before the soldiers could react, Feng Xiyan ordered, "Keep it open!"

Pausing in their tracks, the soldiers clasped their fists, then responded, "Yes, Great General."

The gate captain hurried toward Feng Xiyan, clasped his fists, and said, "Great General, we can’t keep the gate open with the enemies getting closer by the second."
